You may see that coating to an inch of snow on the ground, but it is all switching over right now to rain and rain will wash a lot of that away. The the result on the roadways well bob kelly will tell new a few minutes but you see heavy rain at times in the philadelphia area and switch over, in Chester County where they have switched to all rain but there could be still icy and slippery spot out in berks county where we see pink mixed with the green there. Up to the north weve got the snow in mount pocono, we have got the snow in the Lehigh Valley and around the northeast extension, there. And then we will go to new jersey it looks like trenton has now gone over from snow to rain, and weve got, heavy rain in parts of the eastern new jersey, Atlantic City but raining steadily and down in georgetown delaware as well as the beaches of delaware and new jersey. We are above freezing at philly international. Kind of hazy sloppy out there feels like 27 degrees. Our sunrise time is now 7 08 in the morning as these days get longer. Visibility not great the at all where it is snowing in mount pocono. Only 3 miles in the philly international. Two and a half miles in wilmington. Same deal road were wet. Temps right around freezing. So it is White Knuckle all the way in and then knuckle head tractor trailers flying by me at like 60 miles an hour. But for the the most part the roads are wet. It is a lot of slush. It is really not plowable. We will just to have kind of slop through it here for the the morning rush hour. Slower than normal speed on all of our major roadways here. There is an accident northbound, on the northeast extension, just north of q town between quakertown and Lehigh Valley. As sue mentioned that is area where were seeing more snow, north and west of the city. All of the bridges this morning have speed restrictionness play down to 25 or 35, depending upon the span, and so far, so good the at philly international. Hopefully it will just be a rain delay type of a day and not an icy type of day but would i still check with the the airline before you head down to the airport. The chris and lauren good morning. If we have a refreezing and our temperature since we started went from 34 to 32 on our dashboard. If this refreezes we will have big trouble on the road later on. I think only reason we dont have trouble now and bob kellys traffic report is because it is so early and people are still sleeping in because of the big game last night. There is police out there they have been telling me that the roads are pretty bad too as he goes down and he a has the big suv in moorestown but boy this is real heavy stuff. Heres Something Else been kelly might want to warn people about. We have all of those drivers who never clear their car when it snows night before and they let gravity take effect. This stuff is not going to fly off your car, no matter how fast you are going. When i cleared my car it was like moving bags of potatoes off the the car. Heres another warning for you ladies, do the not go out without the waterproof stuff on your feet because i had to get changed and i a had boots on. I got drenched when i cleared my car off because when i was clearing stuff off even though i was not pushing it on to my feet my foot got soak like standing in 3 inches like a sponge and all of the stuff goes into your boots and everything. I have been out on the road since 1 30 i would say and frankly conditions at least from what is coming to the sky, much improved right now. When we first hit road at 1 30 in newtown bucks county. I will turn camera around and we see much improved. This was all snow covered. We saw an inch and a half or so of snow and what were seeing now and they have been doing a good job plowing obviously is mostly the slush on the road. We saw heavy snow earlier. The not a lot of traffic. Steve was saying, same situation here in bucks county not too bad. We have seen police vehicles. We have seen a ton of snowplows. What we are seeing mostly now is flooding as we are looking at pictures from over last couple of hours i shot off of my iphone off to the side of the road. Going really slow. For the the most part speed limits on most of i95 and route one we were on is 45 miles an hour. Signs are posted. Temps right the now at least with what they are registering in our vehicle 34 degrees. Obviously the idea is to stay above freezing. Will we will see flooding. But hopefully they wont get too slick. We know is there hydroplaning going on. I saw a handful of cars off to the side of the road. They seem to be minor incidents at least at this point. We know one of the trouble spots, construction on i95, easy to hydro plane even in good conditions that is rough trying. Where ever you are out and about, again, this area is something where we have done plowing in newtown, 95 we have seen situations where we have seen two, three, four plowness a row coming off of the off ramps on to the highway and again, it certainly could be worse but take it slow and the the advantage we have right now, clearly is there is in the a lot of traffic. We have had an inch or so around the in metro area but we could expect as much as 8 inches to fall in the poconos where it will continue to be snow and not change over to rain. The is there warm front ahead of the low pressure system. After this cold front sweeps through really cold air kicks in. It will be really wind think afternoon. Future cast shows the the changeover continuing. Rain continuing through about 8 00 9 00, 10 00, 11 00 oclock is last gasp of that storm. A maybe drizzle around 2 00 in the afternoon but still in the 40s then. Then cold air comes in and we can really get some freezing overnight. So todays high will be 45 degrees. Authorities say a husband and wife fell about 500 feet town mount hood saturday afternoon. Just about an hour outside of port land. Luckily they fell near where Mountain Rescue Team was training. The once you make it to the majors like the schuylkill i95, blue route we are good to go. They are wet penndot actually sent out an alert that they have reduced speeds on all of the major roadways this morning. Definite the liz give yourself some extra time. You want to income it down by about 10 miles an hour then what you typically roll through. This is a live look at the route 100 in Chester County. It looks like we have one good lane but that far right or far left lane still possibly snow covered, and definitely the turning lane will be slush covered. Heres a live look the at route 202, the parkway at bristol road where we have wet road surfaces but that right or left turning lane sloppy at best. And then major roadways heres a live look at i95. Look at construction lane there is no shoulder like 95 through cottman avenue. Because it is more slush then snow at this point it is really not a plowable operation. We will to have get through it. That slush will eventually turn to liquid as the temperature begins to rise, and eventually it will roll in the drain.
