It started with a hit and run and ended with a driver dead in the delaware river. A man left the scene of his accident. But these two men who live nearby jumped in the river to try and rescue the driver. It was too late he was under water for about 20 minutes. The man died at Jefferson University hospital. Meanwhile, a north philadelphia day care reopening this morning after being vandalized. Thieves tearing through every edge of the building taking just about everything that wasnt locked down. The man remains hospitalized. Police say the violent reaction is too much. Its excessive. Give me a break. If somebody is looking at somebody else, its not enough to get sucker punched and hospitalized. I could see if there was an assault or threats or Something Like that, but just to be looking. But when spring arrived, mom and dad were notified they were to attend a mandatory gala on behalf of Scholarship Recipients at 300 bucks a couple. Its smaller money to get bigger money, okay well do that. Meanwhile they were shorting their tuition bill a bit believing the scholarship was picking up the rest. It was not. When the school year ended they learned they were 1,000 short on the tuition bill. She called the foundation to ask wheres the money. Youre told early june, if not late may, that this will all be taken care of. Correct. And today . Nothing has been paid. Reporter as of this date, the scholarship has not directed any funds to the archdiocese for the 20132014 academic year. When i reached pat brown by phone, he explained an ongoing irs audit had left him short on cash but he expected the situation to be resolved within two to four weeks. Bottom line, all the Foundation Money will be going out before the start of this next school year youre telling me. Okay.
