1948 ring, and the man who is doing everything he can to make sure the owner is reunited with that ring. We lose our car keys, we lose our cell phones all the time. They can be replaced. This is something thats very old, and i want to replace it, you know, bring it back to the owner. Ill be married 30 years this year, and, you know, the wedding ring means a lott to me. Joels son found the wedding ring at the rosalynn train station which is located at lincoln avenue and railroad avenue west of rosalynn road. Joel kept the ring, took a picture of it and posted that on facebook. That went viral, its had thousands and thousands of shares. We dont know who this person is that was carrying this ring. Thats right. What are some of the ideas that youve had . Well, the first idea, the simple idea that it was just, somebody took their glove off and, basically, it just fell out of their glove right on the ground, and they never even knew it. Or . Or a husband might have taken the ring and threw it at his wife and said get out of my life. So that persons never going to call you. Thats right. Youre going to have that ring forever. I cant imagine that. [laughter] youre a romantic. Joel is doing the right thing, trying to find the owner of this gold ring. If you recognize this ring, call joel, but if youre not that person, stop calling him thats correct. So what are the requirements . Youve got to get the right digits. We know its 1948, we have to figure out the month and the date. Correct. And even if they get that figured out then there are four initials. But i had to find out if other people would do the same, so i asked people waiting for the train if they found gold, what would they do . Maam . [laughter] hi, maam . Im a reporter with chasing news, im doing a story about someone who found gold and actually looking for the owner. If you found gold out here, what would you do . [laughter] first, ill check to see with the Police Department, see if anything comes up, you know . And if nobody at the Police Department was missing it . Ill just keep it. [laughter] i would try my best to make it into something that i really love, and i would really love to do with it. So youd keep it. Yeah. [laughter] so call him if you were engaged in 1948 or got married in 1948 and he looked at your hand, and the ring was missing. For more on this, toll follow me on twitter chasing news. Ready . That was a pretty good clap. Check out this video of these black lives matter leaders going airborne to take a Confederate Flag from a protester near the college of charlton campus in charleston, south carolina. So the event itself was a rally against the Confederate Flag which, obviously, brought folks from the other side, waving it around, and this guy went superman, comes out of nowhere during a live shot, tries the get the flag away. He was eventually arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Ive seen a few different animals wave back at humans, but ive never seen a lizard do it. This four month old bearded dragon was being filmed by his owner, and she wave add him, and he waved back at her. This video has gone viral, and it turns out waving is something that bearded dragons do all the time either to show submission or to let somebody else know or let another bearded dragon know that theyre there. So guys, please welcome our guest chaser, friend of the show, host of new jersey now, jim mcqueeny. Come on, guys, clapping, clapping. Were happy to have jim here. [laughter] brian, you went clamming. Yes, as i love to do, i went clamming with my daughter this weekend. Working that rake. Hard work. Got one. I tweeted about this this weekend, i was quickly told where are the clams for the chasing crew . Get the [bleep] out there, go clamming again, bring some clams in to the studio, so i dutifully followed orders. Awesome. So, wait, you brought clams. Yes. Today im heading out to do one of my favorite winter things, the makings of a delicious winter meal right out of the jersey mud. Is this because i start eating while you guys are talking . Yes. Yes. This is my mollusk assault vehicle. There are problems afoot. Go ahead, brian, im still listening. Theandahalf sank river, its one of the last places where you can directly harvest shell shellfish be, but there are problems. 500 acres of the river were put off limits to clamming and shellfishing due to high bacteria levels. Theres a huge effort underway, its headed by the organization of clean ocean action, and theyre trying to get everyone to find the problems, find the source of the problems and fix it. Its a noblame effort. Of its a fantastic effort to find the source of the problems, fix it and clean up the water so we can all enjoy clams. Ing like these clams that i prepared for you all last night. See this one, little one . This would be delicious in pasta, but its got to be an inch and a half. Too small. Rules are the rules. Look at those babies, huh . Theres 30. 33 so far. Better get a few more, because spadey is going to eat, like, half of these. These are stuffies. I love clams. Talk about this. Yes. A stuffed what hog. Im going to die. I found this recipe on the internet. It was advertised i dont really follow recipes that closely tell me what you put in it. Peppers, onions, sauteed with garlic, then you throw in some color rose sew and dice up the clams, which have already been cooked. Put the clams in there and then some bread crumbs. I used some stale bread, parsley and a little paprika. And you stuff the clams and bake them. As you taste that, i have a question. A clam taken from the mud of a seabed of a river in new jersey, does it taste like jimmy hoffa . Really not making this appetizing. Thanks, jim. Enjoy [laughter] do me a favor though, ashley is deathly allergic. Lets keep these away. This is so good. This is really good, yeah. No you need a license, 10 for the year, get your clamming license. A lot of work. Its not easy, digging clams. No. Im feeling clammy. Feeling clam hawaii. [laughter] so we could get crabs next time maybe. Well talk about it. All right, thank you, brian. Are you feeling clammy . I just said that. Thats my joke, dont try to steal it. That sizzle. Come for the clams, stay for the solitude, peace and quiet. I dont believe when people say, oh, time heals all wounds. It doesnt. For me, its just a longer period of time that i lost some of my family. A year later, im back here this bayonne right in pam odonnells dining room where i met her for the first time just hours after her husband and her daughter had passed. What a difference a year makes. Really, im devastated. Im actually really not feeling anything, im numb. Pam and tim had a teary tale love. They were fairy tale love. They were best friends and amazing parents. You can see it in every single picture that they gave me. Pam lost her husband, daughter, best friend, and ali lost her father and sister. Christmas morning was probably the toughest day that weve had. Actually, she unwrapped all the gifts that santa left her, but she has not played with any of them. Theyre actually still sitting on her bed. Theyre still in boxes. She hasnt played with anything. She doesnt, she doesnt have her sister to play with. It became very Real Christmas day. But like she told me, they must move on because theres no other choice. A candlelight vigil was held on wednesday in bayonne, the oneyear anniversary of their passing to celebrate their lives and to, honestly, give pam and ali some peace. I was only expecting 2530 people, and we had about 200 people. The setting couldnt have been nicer. The sunset was absolutely beautiful. And we were feeling the love. And, actually, we woke up this morning, and we both said to ourself, this is our new year. December 31st doesnt mean anything to us anymore. This is our new year. Now, im back just one year later to catch up with pam right here in our dining room to see how she and ali are doing. We spoke about grief and how theres no right way to do it, theres no textbook to grieve. You just have to do what you have to do and survive. First and foremost, you have to take care of you. You are no good to anybody in your family, your children unless youre okay. So, first, you have to take time to yourself whether it be an hour, a half hour, whatever. Get a babysitter, have somebody watch the kids, go to a movie by yourself, do whatever you can and, you know, just you have to take care of yourself. Now, pam herself, i asked her how she was doing. Shes doing better. First and foremost, my health is great. I took a pet scan two weeks ago. Thank god, it came back negative. I didnt light up. And, you know, i have to, by the grace of god, im hoping tim and bridge had something to do with it. Be cancer comes back if cancer comes back, theres a possibility theres nothing they can do for me. I asked her if she had any words a year later. The best way to honor my husband and hi daughter for my friends and family that are going to watch this, go be out and put that phone down when youre driving. Dont take that drink. If youre going to have a drink and youre out being social, call a taxi. Call another form of transportation or just wait it out. Have a designated driver. Be that person that makes that potentially lifesaving phone call. As she celebrates her ninth birthday for the second year in a row shes ringing in her birthday with a fundraiser to help kids battle cancer. A 9yearold with the coping skills beyond, honestly, what many adults have. Its an this is how bearded dragons wave. So weve heard the term stage five, well, this panda falls into that category. A panda that is very attached to the zookeeper has gotten over 60 million views. You can see the panda grab on to his legs. The keeper picks up the panda and puts him on the box. Then he comes back, and he has to be put on an even higher spot, comes back again. This video was shared from the shangdu research facility. New jersey now host jim healthcare queenny back with us. Morning, jim. Good to be here. Good to have you. We brought you, we want to talk about governor christie. All kinds of stories out there about what he could have had, may have been offered. Politico reported he was actually offered the department of labor, turned it down. So, apparently, that lunch was a little bit more than just lunch. Do you think that the governor was just not smart enough to take something so high level and high profile . And then do you think hes got a future in broadcasting . Take Something Like the secretary of labor with his labor record in jersey would be like jumping on a grenade for trump. But overgot to understand youve got to understand christie, he doesnt want to be in the second or third wave, he wants to be in the first wave of his in four years. And its not such a leap to go from tv or radio or Something Like that. For god sakes, trump, apprentice, right . If he becomes a sportscaster, i just, i dont see it. I dont think its a serious enough position for somebody to launch i actually think his political careers gone. Be more sympathetic to the governor here, right . He spent eight years tirelessly wrecking the state. Hes going to be a sports jock on the thing. Give him a break. Christie actually knows a lot about sports, and hes filled in pretty admirably. But heres the thing, he needs to be someone who is going to angle at his position for a long time. They dont want to have a guy whos going to be a stopgap replacement. You want a held a held and the face of the station. He could be there for two years and say, ah, ive got a better opportunity in politics. The secretary of labor could be an incredibly important position x a guy like christie wouldnt be that bad. I wonder if its just fake, that it didnt really happen. Well, recently i thought if hes that busy with chris christie, why is he having lunch with me . A year and a half ago we introduced you to jordan williams. She was undergoing treatment for cancer. I get that from spongebob. Well, take a look at her now. Jordan is back at home with her family this bloomfield, new jersey. Shes still battling cancer, but shes not letting it get her down. Drawing jordan as me as she celebrates her 9th birthday. She turned 9 last week, and for the second year in a row. Jordan asked me for the kids who dont get to see or celebrate another birthday, so i told her the truth, i said, jordan, they pass away and go to heaven. I felt bad for them, and i wanted to start something, you know, to help them. When theyre not here and stuff. So, and thats when my mom came up with something called the coin drive. Last year the coin drive raised around 1500 by putting piggybanks in the class rooms at Jordans School in bloomfield. The funds went to Childrens Cancer foundation, and this year they decided to make it even bigger. This year i went on a massive email. I sent the superintendent, all the principals of bloomfield asking if theyd be willing to join in the coin drive this year. So far three other principals contacted me back. The fundraiser is being held in an interesting month for jordan, the same month that two years ago she was diagnose thosed with leukemia. She tells me for that reason the fundraiser isnt just about raising money, but its also about raising awareness for kids her age to learn about cancer. I told the class what ive been going through, and then i showed them what i look like without my hat on, and i had been wearing wigs and hats because i didnt want the kids at school to make fun of me. It says princess warrior and no hair, dont care. I kind of do care. Its true. Jordan is very strong, shes very courageous, and, you know, i pray every day for her to just keep doing good with her medicines and, you know, just keep fighting. Keep fighting til she wins. While the fundraiser for this coin drive is just this schools, if you want to help jordan with her battle against leukemia, you can go to her gofundme page, gofundme. Com team jr. Jordan team jordan w. Shes incredible. I think its her family. She has a brother and sister. Her dad kept in touch with me over the couple years, writing songs for her, but shes just an awesome, awesome girl. This is so inspiring, and im hoping that her positivity and her spreading the word in her school will grow to even more schools. This is an incredibly inspiring story of a 9yearold with the coping skills that, honestly, are beyond what many adults have. Its an incredible example, it really is. [laughter] shes munching on me. You grow up in new jersey and youre in the arts and the entertainment world, the point is to get out of here and make it big over there. Going to visit an old friend of hine right now who has put that notion in reverse. Welcome back to jersey. Thanks, man. I wanted to be this thing where when people look back five years he seems curious, comes up to the glasses and waves right back at her. This is how bearded dragons wave. This is how bearded dragons michael. Yes. Well excellent. Last night i took over the chasing news snapchat account account to take everyone on my journey to the 17th annual women of style and substance event in philadelphia. The event honored 26 africanamerican women making a massive impact in the philadelphia community. Only of the notable honorees were radio personalities laid by b. From lady b. And ken yacht that robertson who is the only female black School Professor at villanova university. The night was filled with fabulous fashions. 10 of the proceeds went to the aclu, and i had a great time. Mayhem has erupted at the Animal Adventure park in new york. A giraffe caught in a pornographic scandal. According to youtube, that is. Million of people were so excited to watch april the giraffe give birth, but now they might not have the chance because youtube has pulled the live stream due to sexually explicit content and nudity. One person even said does this mean animals in the zoo will have to wear clothes from now on . Well, if you look at one of our most esteemed editors, nicole, she would say animals dont have a right to privacy because they dont wear clothes and dont live in houses. Or do they, nicole . Direct quote. [laughter] if you grow up this new jersey and youre in the arts and entertainment world, the point is to get out of here and make it big over there. New york city. Were going to visit an old friend of mine right now who has put that notion in reverse. His name is Jonathan Levine, a working class punk rock kid from trenton who was delusional enough to think he could someday earn a living curating and selling the type of art that he loved, low brow or pop surrealism. Call it what you will, it doesnt really have a name. You know what in he pulled it off. There small hope, pennsylvania, then to philly, then in manhattan, the Jonathan Levine gallery is moving once again to jersey city. Welcome back to jersey. Thanks, man. Good to be here. Im psyched about jersey city and the excitement and the energy of what its become, but also i have access to the greater new jersey as well, which is also really exciting more me. This is an artist ive been working with forever. He lives in portland, oregon. By the time he set up shop this new york, levine found himself at the vanguard of an explosion in street and pop art, connecting underground artists like shepherd ferry including sportswear ceos and hollywood stars. But i still know him as the guy i drank with and boxed with in trenton, and the great thing about jonathan is hes still both of those things. If youre from jersey, theyre really excited. And if theyre not, theyre really curious. Its been overwhelmingly positive, which was surprising to me, because i thought for sure id have this negative backlash, oh, youre moving to jersey. Now, its possible people are saying saying that, but nobody bes saying it to me. I want to show you what i did to your boss face. [laughter] i won. He did win the fight. I did win the fight. Dressed up as the easter bunny, and i dressed up as santa claus. The battle of the holiday heavyweights. As big as a move as this is for levine, its a great deal for jersey city. I want it to be this thing when people look back five years from now, theyre going to be, like, that was really smart, what you did. I wouldnt have expected that, i couldnt see that. Another great night of chasing news. Thanks for watching, see you tomorrow. exclaiming school bell ringing barney belches doh tires screeching grunts yech somber music bart yes chuckles
