Center of bracket doesnt need to be too low or too high so child doesnt have problem they throat. So, proper placement of the belts and straps themselves. More critically where a lot of parents have trouble is actually installing correctly into the seat itself into your car. So as you can see here. This is very tight fitting seat right here. Very well placed in here using the latch and tether systems here. You can also use the seatbelt itself. Two different methods. You need to look at the instructions for seat itself. On your guide book that you have with each car. Each car is different as well. When youre doing these checks and lot of these parents dont have right, what is it . I think one the first things even before you come to the emergency room or if youre on way to emergency room. If your child is in condition you can explain to them whats going to happen. Because often children are surprised when they get here, they know that they are going to the doctor. But many of them think they are going to their pediatrician. So explaining to them youre going to seen a different place, and a lot of children are often scared by emergency theres a lot going on. Theres lot of people here. And then, i wouldnt, i couldnt tell you, probably 50 percent of the time children are surprised that when the doctor walks in room its me not their pediatrician. So explain to them that maybe their doctors friend pore one of their doctors colleague wills take care of them let their pediatrician know i think one first things children definitely need to know. When your child i sick or hurt you want them to be number one priority to be seen right away. Er as you know are busy places. Times. Have you manage patients. How do determine a priority lel they are checking in . Well, you know if child comes in to our entrance, they are triaged immediately. They are seen by nurse immediately. They find out what condition is, whats going on, what, what concern is for the parent. And as a parent knowing that even though a child might not look as sick as your child they may have another medical condition that requires them to be brought back immediately. When you go to Childrens Hospital children have cancer on dialysis or might be immune expressed they cant exposed to things your child might have. That tree annual system knows its a priority to get your child back but brings back the sickest child children first. Good thing is we have 29 beds here in pediatric emergency room all childrens. So most often when you into entrance youre brought immediately back to room so so that care can begin. When youre with your child even, this is tough call for us injured a what point do you call an ambulance to comes get them . Well thats, a very hard question. The answer to that question, easy answer is if you do not think that your child is stable enough to get to the hospital by your car or you think they need care immediately, thats when you call an ambulance. What happens is when you call 91, a paramedic in a rescue rig from a local Fire Department will be rushed to your house. They are closest to your home. Then a transport ambulance will come as well. Ambulance that is come to house. Both of them will have a paramedic on it. When the paramedic arrives on scene, they have all of the things as a First Responder to care for your child immediately. So not only are you getting a ride to the er, but youre getting care immediately at the house. You know, i want to ask you too before you go. Whap you have, its hard to keep your were your cool as we mentioned. What are some of the things that they are going to need when they check in . We need to have on us when we show up paperwork or insurance . Thats one right. Right. Thats one suggestion i can give parents of something you can do right now. Something that you can do right now is if your child is on any medications whatsoever, go and take a picture of the label of that medication. Keep it on your phone. Another thing you can take picture while youre at it take picture of your insurance card. Often i see parents emergency . Florida who cant tell their child is on well its thats all this need to know when they go pediatrician. We night not have that documentation here. Even for your children take pictures of their medications take pictures of your insurance card think about that for grandpa and grandpa you might have to the go to Emergency Room Center having that an information on your phone you might not run out of the house with the bag full of medications.
