No one was found in the end. Family members told police that the man lives alone. Fire was put out about 30 minutes later. One firefighter suffered a minor injury. But they already have that so its just making a constitutional amendment but it also puts a limit of the liability and responsibility of Utility Companies to perhaps purchase some of the solar electricity you might be generating. It has something for the Utility Companies, some something for people who install solar. Russell lets talk install solar. Do we know of a cost, how much it would cost to do Something Like that, to put solar panels on the roof . I see them every now and then. Right. And its surprising. Its only 5 of the solar energy in the state but only 17th in the nation in terms of how many homes have solar. The average cost for a five kilo watt system which is what i normal house might have on average is 20,000 to install, get it up and running but the tax credit of 6,000 at least to the end of the year so their effective cost of installing it is about 14,000. So its actually reasonably cost effective. Important question is how much does it really save you in the long run in order to you dont have to pay anything necessarily to hook up to the Power Company but if youre using solar, obviously youre not going to be drawing any or very little power from the electric utility company. And we have done some analysis of that you know, on average in the tampa bay area, the average electricity bill from the one of the Power Companies in the area is about 140 a month. If you have solar energy, you should only use 40 a month in electricity from the Power Company. That means youre saving 100 a month. And if you add that up, its 1200 a year and of that 14,000 that you would be putting out using your solar system to get back that investment in that solar energy system. So thats kind of the math. If youre going to be in the house for the long run, it probably makes a whole lot of sense f. Youre not there that long, you probably wont receive the benefit of that installation. But it could very well increase the value of your house when it comes time to sell. Russell i apologize for asking a question. I know youre a money guy and not a technical guy but maybe you have the answer. So if you get sol you do start using solar, can you choose at what point in the day you want to use electricity from teco or your solar power or does the system figure it out for you . I think its sort of a thermostat, a regulator. When you get the solar power, youre storing it in batteries, right . And so your system will keep replenishing just like your car with the battery and alternator. Youll replenish the solar power while the sun is shining. Cloudy or when its nighttime and so the system would automatically go back and forth. But theres probably a switch. Im not an engineer. Youre right. Theres probably a switch somewhere that says i want to go on the grid or off the grid. Power in your batteries will determine whether youre going to go with solar. Russell i like the phrase, im going to go off the grid now. I dont want to get too political. But we are the Sunshine State and i guess mbe taken as advantage of our sunshine as other states have. So you get this sub tropical system, maybe a tropical system here, well east of the carolinas but here comes your cold front and you can see that line or the very broken line of showers that goes along with it. By the way, when the front comes through friday night, next to month in terms of rainfall so i wouldnt really count on start to whip in from the northwest and that will drag the dew points down, bring the humidity down. I remember a few weeks ago we had a front come through, and i think the dry air lasted a few hours. This time its going to last for several days, which is good. Other good thing is as the front moves off the eastern seaboard, its going to take this with it so in general, its nice to see here are the forecast dew points. At one point it was actually seeing the travel time go down a little bit from where we were peaking. If youre heading from pinellas into hillsborough along 275 north, no big complaints. We have no crashes reported, just moderate congestion and nort northbound, seven minute drive. We have the delays here so continue to avoid southbound 19 at nebraska. You had started to have events here like the Steeple Chase, you had different walks and so forth. Why did you decide to open your well, we put a conservation easement on this ranch. We wanted to do it and we felt some obligation because of the state having invested in a conservation easement for to us maintain the ranch like it is. So we felt like, well, you know, why not let folks come here and well put things on that they like, in and after all, the publics money owns part of it in that easement so we were sharing with the people. What kind of events have you held over the years . Oh, the american cancer walk, we had a High School Cross country races, we had lets see. Weve had years. For about 10 years and we had as many as 15, 16,000 people here for the Steeple Chase on one day event. Thats a big crowd. Big crowd. Thats bob blanchard. This weekend, theyre expecting like 10,000 people for the savage race, a big obstacle race happening here.
