County biologist jeff harris says it will turn back time in this part of pasco. Were bringing back the ecologicial funciton thats been lost due to drying up wetlands and lakes. And once full, the big ponds go to work in a couple of ways fifty percent of the water will stay in the wetland and 50 percent will filter down into the upper floridan aquifer, ourdrinking water source. That means more water for hillsborough, pinellas and pasco. Brian armstrong, swiftmuds executive director says scientists from all over the world will be watching them reuse reclaimed water. These types of projects where you can use this water more than once are ideal because youve doubling the water essentially and while the ponds look baron now, natvie tees and grasses will be planted.
