It makes its way through the bahamas and theres that shift, that bend more towards the west so still were keeping it off the coast of florida but were getting it closer and closer to the state and were certainly within that cone across portions oflori s and into friday. You can cross the west coast of florida, we could see some of these winds gusting up to Tropical Storm force in some of the heavy rain with this and then as you get onto the eastern side of the state, the conditions obviously becoming much, much worse. Then this continues to make its way to the north. Rit looks like it could be making landfall somewhere across the carolinas as we head into saturday and it accelerates to the north. You can see theyre all over the place across haiti, cuba, across the bahamas and with the 11 00 advisory, we now have watches out. We have a Tropical Storm watch from seven mile bridge all the way up to Deerfield Beach and then a hurricane watch all the way up to the volusia, Brevard County line. Were going to be watching this very closely because just that little shift in that forecast will really make some pretty big you can see the computer models coming into much better agreement, shifting this close to the state. Were getting more and more information back from the hurricane hunter. You plug that into the computer models and it really helps to fine tune that forecast. The probability of seeing Tropical Storm force winds, even here on the west coast of florida, were between a 20 to 30 chance. You can see across central portions of our viewing area, over into polk county, hardee, desoelt county and you can see Hurricane Force winds or at least gusts over on the eastern side of the state. That eye is about 14 miles in diameter so a fairly small eye with this system as well and thats very typical of these very strong systems as well. Here is the latest coordinates. Its moving to the north at 10 miles an hour, expected to move over that extreme eastern tip of cuba this evening and then it works its way into the bahamas and thats when you start to see more of a bend back to the west. Late yesterday, a lot of computer models started to suggest more of that push to the west so its been pushing that track closer and closer to the west coast or to the east coast of florida and now you see if this continues more of that shift, were obviously going to increase the effects over the state. But even if this were to verify, youre still looking at a major hurricane with winds of 125 miles an hour, just off the coast of florida. So the storm surge along the coastline, the strong rain, the heavy rain and then youve got the winds along the east coast of florida, certainly be looking Hurricane Force and that will extend over the state where we, quite likely, could see some gusts approaching Tropical Storm force to the west coast of florida. If it shifts west, well increase the effects over the state as we head into late thursday and into friday morning. Then theres more of that bend more towards the north and eventually towards the northnortheast but still could be making landfall acrosshe cars on saturdaymoing. Lot allrom haiti through cubantthe bahamas and now with the 11 00 a. M. Advisory, we now have watches out for portions of florida. From seven mile bridge up to Deerfield Beach, theres a Tropical Storm watch as you head up to the Volusia County line. Theres a hurricane watch out and obviously as this moves closer, these warnings will be so you look at the wind field with this and as we go through tonight into tomorrow, by 6 00 tomorrow morning, were across the southern bahama chain with those Hurricane Force winds, move through there and its making a bend more towards the northwest and then over the state. Along the east coast of florida, that probability of seeing tropical force storm winds, between 70 and over in polk county, highlands county, probably a 40 chance and a 20 to 30 chance of seeing tropical force storm winds even here on the western side of the state. Now, if that track shifts, all of these numbers may shift as well. We could see winds gusting close to Hurricane Force along the east coast of florida as we get into friday morning. You look at the wave heights being reported to the southern forecast for these waves, as we go through a couple of days, that red shade is 18 plus foot waves and notice them making their way to the eastern side of the state as we get into friday morning.
