But, a spokesperson for mosaic is saying that con tam in the watered has not left property hes hoping to sure surrounding Community Folks living in the neighborhoods around here that, that contaminated water is not going to risk to their Drinking Water. The company is also offering to come out to anybodys homes if they are concerned and test that Drinking Water for them. But lets talk about how all of this started. How we got though this point. On water level dropping at one of the plants stacks. And it was quickly determined that a massive 45 foot sinkhole had opened up underneath that stack. Hundreds of millions of gallons of reprocessed water has gushed into the floridian you aquifer. Company immediately notified federal and state environmental agencies and has been taking steps to minimize the potential impact. That includes making sure that any of that contaminated water the aquifer flows then into wells on the companys property. They want to make sure it doesnt get into any of the wells in neighborhood surrounding this plant. In mosaic spokesperson says thats how they were able to present that from happening getting into any of the Drinking Water. The next step is going to be filling in that sinkhole. And that is basically the same way you fill in any sinkhole in florida for folks who live around here you know you bring in experts you take look at whats inside, whats underneath and then you begin to the process of filling in. So thats where we are right now. Were about to talk to some neighbors around here too. Who i know because weve getting calls, are concerned about their Drinking Water. And, but again, the company here, linda, is hoping to assure the residents that nothing is to be worried about, that the water is drinkable. And that theyve contained the problem to the area that is within the plant here. It hasnt gotten past the offer to test the Drinking Water of residents in that area. That is for free . Yeah. A tragic story, a bay area family is fighting for their lives this morning after horrific crash. A crash that killed a nineyearold boy. We got some video from skyfox yesterday afternoon. In hernando county. You can see just how bad that crash was. A total of 10 people were involved in that crash. 4 are listed in serious joseph hospital. Including a mother, father, and their 5yearold daughter. As i mentioned their son, who was nine years old was also killed in that crash. A family turned upside down in a matter of seconds. Six vehicles were involved in the Chain Reaction crash in mile park marker 302. Florida Highway Patrol telling us 5 vehicles were traveling northbound on i75. All of them were either traveling slowly, or about to stop because there was another crash located just north of them. Northbound as well. And failed to either slow down or stop. As a result of that, it created a violent, violent Chain Reaction crash that eventually killed that nineyearold and cents several people to the hospital. I 75 was closed for a while as investigators cleaned up scene and tried to piece together what happened. I spoke with florida Highway Patrol this morning they tell me charges are pending it i unclear what those charges will be. Information officer. They tell me grief counselors will be on scene to the schools, those children attend. As you look outside right now from our see partly cloudy skies, currently sitting an 89 degrees at the noon hour. Along the coastline, lots of sun still 87 degrees. Winds are currently out of a north, northeasterly direction. At six miles an hour. Were starting to kind of switch that wind direction around. Where we get plenty of sun first part part day then get storms that will develop late in afternoon. You can see on skytower radar not much going on. Couple showers out into the gulf of mexico. Those are moving away. You look real closely, there you showers in and around and to the east. And northeast of orlando. Thats going to be the trend. We will see things starting throughout middle of the state. And then eventually kind of working there way over on to western side of the state as we get into a Late Afternoon hours. So expect to see some scattered storms around, some time say after 4 to 5 oclock this afternoon. Heading into the evening hours. Visible satellite loop you can see fair weather cumulus clouds developing. We also have a lot of dry air starting to work its way the south. These are kind in this wedge where we still are moisture over us. But this, thats Tropical Storm julia all convection sitting on that eastern side notice all dry air thats basically sitting on that western side of the storm. Thats why the system really just has not done much at all. 89 degrees outside right now. Current dew points at 73. And currently weve got calm winds, were going to continue with these fairly light winds pretty much all weekend long. As well. Boating weather as well. Brandon youre 91 degrees. You head down to bradenton and sarasota, 92 degrees. So, once you factor in the humidity, were seeing heat indices in the triple digits. 102 in brandon. Feels like 103 in bradenton. 98 in sarasota. Here in tampa, current heat index of 97 degrees. So still, weve got that heat. Weve got humidity. Going to be around for several more weeks before we finally really can see or expect to see a and really give us cooler temperatures. Theres julia. All convection sitting on that eastern side of the storm. This is just going to continue to meander over the next several days by first part of next week basically system just falls apart with that dry air and wind sheer xartly cloudy scattered storms for today. Daytime high of 90 degrees. Then for tonight storms wind down overnight low of 78. Again for tomorrow, morning sun. Scattered storms come late in the day. Degrees. For skooinyearold betty phelps of largo the trip satisfies her addiction to light houses. I dont know who how far along the state would have gotten before light houses, you know were here. Light houses like one on egmont key are in her blood. Its a passion. Bettys grandfather worked and lived at several in florida. Getting that light house job, that was a that was 1929. The depression was really bad. When he got that job, his first job, its not much, but, he could feed his family. Were coming here in january. Betty member of florida light house association. And has visited 25 of the 30 around the state. Her goal is to see all of them. Often the view is spectacular. You can see all the sand bar and you can see the birds and its really, really gorgeous. Back in daylight housekeeper would spend two months on the job then take 24 days off for shore leave.
