Nbc 6 investigator is here tonight to tell me state officials are now getting involved. Dozens of customers say theyve seen the ugly side of the Plastic Surgery business. They say they havent beenh able to get refunds after their procedures were canceled. Even if the doctor is the one who canceled it. After our investigation aired last may, the Florida Attorney into this company. The Company Vanity cosmetic rgery of miami claims it serves about 1,000 patients a week, everything from liposuction to tummy tucks. We discovered more than 50 patients filed complaints with state and local agencies over the pastst year showing problems getting refunds. We interviewed one wman who told us she paid upfront for her surgery and could not get her money back after her doctor canceled. This was something i had promised myself, it was a treaea i squirreled the money away and saved for it and saved for it. And then to have it just taken right away from me, it makes me angry. After our investigation aired, cooper settle with the company and received a refund. But more complaints have been filed since then. The ags office is investigating those complaints right now, which could help customers get money back. We tried getting ahold of the company and its attorney numerous times over the past two weeks, but they have not returned our calls or our emails.
