Joel and anna, their loved ones served the country. The family members were expecting a proper military funeral, but instead, they are wondering how long it will take to bury their loved ones at a local cemetery. Inside a funeral home in goldsboro, the flagdraped sergeant bergerons family is stuck in bureaucracy as they wait to bury this world war ii veteran. To to have to stand in line to be buried is a little bit much. Down the road, nine urns are waiting for their turn to be buried. This womans father died last month. In korea he was a combat veteran. He wanted his final resting place to be the Veterans Cemetery in goldsboro. However, his daughter still cant bury him. In november, governor mccrory dedicated this 60 acre cemetery, but it is still not open. Insured that they would get a proper burial. I have a friend who is waiting to be placed here and the family is still waiting for closure. The state director of Veterans Affairs we are here today to get justice for these families. What i would say to these veterans and their families is that i am sorry that this has this pains me. He says that the cemetery state legislators did not approve a budget in time and without a budget, they could not hire a cemetery staff. I am deeply frustrated. Veteran myself. Incompetence. Eye team after the after the eye team inquired, we found this out. We are still about one month to six weeks away to becoming fully operational. Until then, local Funeral Homes will be storing urns and caskets and families will continue to suffer. It is like starting over and i can go through this process again and that is hard. Coaster. Joel they say the goldsboro cemetery is now hiring workers and getting them trained and families do have the options of varying their loved ones at three other veterans cemeteries right now. A fire blazes along interstate. A fire was burning along a three mile stretch of i40 in wake county. I40 is back to normal at this point. You can see the traffic along this stretch is freeflowing. It was a much different situation earlier this morning. Take a look at the video. Small fires burning, you can see it for miles. Fire departments have responded to the scene. They worked to get this blaze under control. They say the cause of the fire was due to a broken down ford exposition between mile marker joel now to a consumer alert. Toyota is now recalling nearly 3 million suvs all because of possible problems with the seatbelts. Seatbelts could cause seatbelts could fail in a crash. The recall covers suvs sold in 2005 through 2014. Toyota dealers say they will fix the problem at no cost to consumers. Anna it is throwback thursday. Anna potholes are damaging expensive rims. The Ford Motor Company is touting its pothole Protection Technology on its newest sedan. The company says its shock absorber system automatically has sensors that can detect potholes that will keep the vehicle elevated instead of dropping into the hole. Other companies now have similar technology. It is the first car in its price range to offer this feature. Extra officers beefed up security in response to a Facebook Post threatening violence. Officers reported there were no threats today here at the high school campus. Joel and a man who had committed a road rage incident is now pleading guilty. It shows this man punching a driver who he claimed drove him off the road. The video doesnt show turner firing a gun as he leaves the scene. He was given three years of supervised probation and ordered to have no contact with the victims and have anger management and to be under house arrest for the First Six Months of his probation. And remembering seven eastern North Carolina marines who died in a Helicopter Crash in florida one year ago. The march will start at the participants will carry a symbolic paddle. An investigation of the crash showed that the pilot of the black hawk helicopter disobeyed direct orders by flying into inclement weather. Anna and remembering a nascar legend. 15 years ago today, Dale Earnhardt died during a race. Earnhardt was better known as the intimidator for his aggressive driving style. He won a total of 76 races in his career. He died in 1998 he competed in a race in 1998 and just died at the same race three years later. Speaking of arrays, it looks like it is very nice in daytona. Triangle will get to the lower 50s tomorrow, upper 40s to the north. The mergers a few degrees below average. Again, here is another shot at that rain coming in the weekend. There is a system of low pressure riding up the coast. Right now it looks like just rain. Although our temperatures dewdrop temperatures do drop, we will have good weather on the weekend.
