The local worker who called Police Wednesday said he spotted watson Near Railroad tracks not far from the Psychiatric Hospital. That is where watson escaped last friday where from Police Custody as he was being transported he was due founder go a mental evaluation there. Now after an all day search around 9 40 in the evening, Howard County tactical teams found watson hiding a few hundred yards from where the tipster spotted him. It was right off of dorsey run road. They found him laying inside a small Drainage Pipe about 18inches in size. Were also told that they found some packing materials inside. Its not exactly clear what type of materials were found in there and what he might have used it for, but they say that he was wearing a white her hat and safety vest which was stolen from nearby storage building. This pipe that he was found hiding were told was actually searched previous in the day by police but officers recheck it hours later using night vision equipment. Good thing they did. He surrendered and he was taken into custody in good condition. Now watson was serving a sentence of over 100 years for attempted murder in delaware. He was also face additional charges here in maryland for attempt murder. Again, this morning he is being held by Howard County police and in less than 30 minutes well learn about the search efforts as well as the arrest that took place. Lets talk about a disturbing story out of montgomery county. 18yearold student facing serious charge driving a stolen car to school with stolen weapon inside. Police are crediting an alert resource officer for a arresting that teenager. Melanie alnwick live outside Albert Einstein high school with really on this disturbing story and its frightening. Reporter thats right. Disturbing, frightening, and as you get more and more into the details, i would say it gets even more so. Now, it began on monday, monday morning around 10 30 in this School Parking lot here. And that School Resource officer noticed 18yearold Mario Alvarado driving what he said was an unfamiliar car parking it toward the back of the parking lot and getting out of the car and walking toward the school. The 18yearold now under ar arrest. Police officer said he walked back toward the school, then he walk back toward the car maybe make something strange movements got into the car and that is when he drove off the school property. The school followed him and it was at an intersection not too far from here where alvarado apparently got out of that vehicle and then ran away, and School Resource officer stayed on the scene. Alvarado returned to the vehicle and then that is when he was arrested. But heres where it gets really strange. Montgomery county police then determined that that mazda three was stolen in wheaton last thursday. In the trunk was an ar15 rival that was stolen from a Rockville City Police cruiser last saturday. Ammunition in the vehicle as well. Police said they discovered a second stolen car. A Nissan Frontier parked near Einstein High School inside that frontier officers found a shotgun stolen from the same Rockville City Police cruiser. Now parents were toll of the incident on monday. In a letter from the prep and School Superintendent doctor jack smith then sent out notice to the ent School Community last night. Essentially saying that they take this incident very ser seriously. That anyone who brings a gun to school on School Campus is going to be in trouble with Law Enforcement. But, guys, here the other thing that a lot of people are commenting on our Facebook Page about. Alvarado was given 2,000 bond. He bonded out so he is now waiting to go back to court in june for these charges. But we learned based on doing a court case search that he had only been out of jail for two weeks. He was arrested two weeks ago in Baltimore County also for a car theft, and he posted bond on april 19th. So a lot of questions there about whether 2,000 bond was appropriate in this case. We should also let upping that theres a 15yearold student who was also arrested charged with that second vehicle theft. It has been, um, a challenging six days but we are happy to report that we have concluded our search for the prisoner who escaped in Howard County on friday. Im going turn the microphone over to our chief of Police Gary Gardner its garygardne. R. Chief of police. Thank usher row. Good morning everyone. Thank you for being here before i get started i do want to recognize who is with us today. Behind me. As you know, Howard County officers arrested the escapee last night david watson. Host, we were not working alone. This was a team effort from agencies at the federal, state and local level i just want to introduce some of the partners who are with us today. I have with us from the Maryland State Police Lieutenant Colonel frank leo. From the Us Marshall Service assistant commander matt burke. The mayor of National Resource police earnest letter bury. From the Anne Arundel County Police Captain frank dewey. Howard county sheriff bill mcmahon. In addition to those agencies, we also had assistance over the sixday period with the csx Police Carroll county sheriffs office, married department of corrections, and Howard County fire and rescue. So as you can see, it was clearly a team effort of maryland Law Enforcement and also from our federal partners. Last night, Howard County Police Tactical team arrested david watson in a wooded area off dorsey run road after the sixday search. Our search expanded signi significantly yesterday after 911 in a business in the 8200 block of dorsey run road at about 9 30. That caller reported spotting a man on the Railroad Tracks behind the building in the 8200 block of dorsey run road. The man was wearing a white hard lat, a safety vest and dark colored pants. When this person spotted him, he ran back into the woods. We arrived on the scene immediately with our partners we reach out to they responded promly. Search efforts extensive search efforts commenced at that time. We had blood hounds, aviation support from many jurisdictions. We had tracking teams that scowered that entire area from the search efforts it appeared that the traveling at least a mile, a mile and a half in a northerly direction from perkins in an easterly direction an west direction. He had been covering an area any from one to 2 miles in either direction from the actual sight of where the escape occurred. Last night, as darkness fell a plan was in place to stra strategically place officers in teams in areas that we believe the suspect had been moving back and forth at about 9 40 p. M. Last night tactical officers while in the area that we had been checking earlier in the day were able to use night vision equipment in about 20inch diameter Drainage Pipe located the suspect the officers immediately took him into custody. There was slight struggle during that time in which he was taken into custody. Overall hes in good health and was transported to the Howard County detention sent. We had been contact with delaware. They are aware that hes now in custody. We have indication and have had conversations with watson last night. Im not going to go into all of those details other than to say that he was cooperative and we have some preliminary information about the areas that he was traveling while he was on the run for that sixday period, and we thats how we confirmed he was about a one to 2mile radius from perkins where the incident first evolve we are working right now with authorities from delaware, Marshall Service in regards to the transport of watson back to delaware. And those arrangements will be finalized later today. Ill take questions but prior to that, i want to introduce our county executive for some brief comments and ill take questions mr. Thank you chief gardner i just want to say briefly on behalf of the residents of Howard County im sure i can speak about the other adjoining counties we appreciate what our Law Enforcement has done to secure this person. It certainly was time of challenge for them and theyve done a great job. I want to thank our federal, our state and other local partners and of course sheriff mcmahon and chief gardner. What ive heard what theyve gone through the last six days they have not left any stone unturned and they continue to go through things and trials that i can through but they never stopped. They kept their persevering and they were successful. I appreciate all their hard work and i just want to make sure everybody in Howard County knows were fortunate to have such officers in our county. And today you see this blue line in front of you. Today is also a day well be honoring our Fallen Heroes in the police depth. Just reminds us what they go through every day to make sure that were safe. We should always be remembering that and honoring them all the time. Thank you very much, chief. Howard county officials detailing how david watson the escaped prisoner was captured after what they say was a sixday search not really going far from where he originally escaped from. Theyre saying that they got information that led them to believe he wasnt very far they concentrated their efforts in that immediate area. But again david watson captured. The number one thing you have to understand with children is you really never know whats going to happen. You come in with the best intentions and you think that everything is going to go perfectly and then when you work with children youll find out that it never it never goes the way you think. So i just always came in every day and tried to have fun with my kids and tried to joke around with them and let them know im human and youre human and it doesnt have to be perfect but at the end of the day were all going to learn something and well all be better for it. It will did they know they were gathering intel on them the whole time that you could turn into a career. Yeah. It came circle start when they were your age. I went on a cruise with my grandparents they talent night, and i loved henne young man i memorized bike 20 minutes of his material. I went up as a a tenyearold kid i was doing like take my wife, please, jokes. And these people thought i was hysterical. I loved the feeling of making people laugh. So you were hooked from super early age isnt i loved comedy from a very very early age. It was amazing. What was it like when you finally took that and you were like owing now this is the cruise ship with the grandparents. This is comedy for real . So i started doing stand up in college, and it was a hobby. I mean i made some money but i wasnt making enough to survive. It was just something fun that i did. Then i did College Showcase and booked a bunch of work and i had to make a decision and it was one of the most terrifying moments of my life. Because i had this college agent that was like were going to do all these dates, right . Then i had my mind going well i cant take a month and a half off from school and still be high to make decision. My wife who is also the same school was just awesome and said, you know what, youve work at this for eight to ten years n go for it. Take risk do it it wasnt the best decision. Funniest kids do that work on your set things they do, things they say. Things they write. Its really everything. I mean a lot of stuff i focus on with the show stuff theyve writ tepp like student work. You can show that for the multi media partner. I do stand up. Ill show a picture and then ill do stand up on that pic picture. Or ill tell a story about the students and tie that in with a photo or Something Like that. And its a great show. Its a lot of fun. Anybody thats work with children like you see it and you go, oh, well of course thats the way it went down. Right. Why would you expect it to go well when when youre dealing with fiveyearolds. Now that youve been on the road for while doing comedy could you go back to teaching again. I mean heres the thing. People always ask this. I knew you were going to ask this. I love the kids and the teaching and the being around youngsters and educating them. It was the politics that i was not good at. Thats right holly we begin this morning in Howard County escaped inmate is back behind bars this morning. After more than four days on the run david watson was caught by Police Last Night in jessup. They had received a tip yesterday morning that watson was spotted in wooded area nr from custody from officers last week. These are new Photos Police just released this morning of a new mug shot of watson as well as pictures of the storm drain he was found hiding in. Watson was in jail for attempted murder. The white house looking for a big victory today. House members are set to vote on new Health Care Plan and republicans say this time they have enough support to pass the measure. The bill was updated to include 8 billion over five years to help people wire existing conditions pay their premiums. Democrats are not happy with the new plan. Nancy pelosi telling her members to rally against the bill today. Also, more rain is expected today in the midwest. As people in missouri, oklahoma, arkansas and indiana dealing with record flooding the at least five people have been killed and several homes and businesses theyre completely underwater. Lets talk about whats trending first up another black eye for Delta Airlines California Family says they were kicked off the flight after there faced to give up their two year childs seat. Heres a portion of it caught on cell phone video. No new york city, you should have thought about that before you over sold the flight. I paid for that seat. So were getting kick off the plane . What option do you want to take . Do you want to get off on your own. What are we supposed to do once were off this plane. That is not up to me. The family was on their way back from hawaii when the airline told them they needed to give up their toddlers seat for another passenger and had the child sit in his parents lap as you saw the family refuses. They argued they paid for the seat and shouldnt have to give it u bought the seat for 18yearold son but that son decided to take earlier flight. Thats when the family put the twoyearold is that seat. Airline argued the toddlers name was not on the ticket assign to the seat and therefore the airline has the right to give that seat to someone else. On the video the Airline Staff can be heard threatening the family with jail time and telling them that small children should sit on their pans lap. That seems to counter whats written on delta and faa website which both parents to buy separate seats for young children. Family was kicked off the flight. And forced to pay 2,000 for another flight delta has since apologized claims the flight was not over booked and theyre looking into the incident. That doesnt make any sense. Of course, this comes on the heels of United Airlines passenger being dragged off an over booked flight last month. That passenger has sips settled for undisclosed amount of money with the airlines and the crazy part about this and i get all the stuff they said. Crazy people already i dont understand people are already on the plane sitting in seats and i know this is a child and i understand about all the name and all that stuff. So theyre on the plane. Somebody whos not on the plane youre going to put them on to get somebody whos already in the seat and then say the little child has to sit it makes no sense. It makes no sense. It doesnt make sense from Customer Service standpoint. No. From customer stand point. Theres an easier way to handle solution. Absolutely. United in their the steps theyve taken now they will not have the people once youre on plane take you off the plane. I can only guess and without having all the details in this case, based on the information that we have on this, they did not scan the twoyearolds ticket because it was not that persons name. So therefore to the airline, thats a passenger that didnt show up for the flight its an empty seat and you know how it is when you fly stand by. When that Seats Available before the flight takes off they put somebody else on it. So i get that from the Airlines Point of view. But you shouldnt make that family leave and have to have to rebook another flight. I dont like threatening jail time. Exactly. What are your options. He said i paid for the seat. Now youre asking me i mean easy on both sides but given what happened with united delta should be very sensitive about Customer Service and in light of that lets quell the situation. Dont escalate it by you now telling the family jail time and get off. You make them pay 2,000 for another ticket. I mean come on. How tone deaf can be given whats happening now with airlines. Delta, you failed this one. Seems a little harsh the way they approach the situation seemed over the top which option are you going to take hurry up and make a decision. You know its funny i was read something reviews about this and the Rolling Stone said that really this was an all star acting master class that all four of you just really nailed it. Nice. Isnt yeah. One reviewer in particular said that he believes this is your best performance on screen ever. When youre making a movie like this do you get a sense of that, like youre really nailing it or the chem tree is really amazing . Well, you know when youre having a good time, and normally that, you know, hopefully that translates into something that other people will enjoy wa watching. But these are four great actors. I mean im inn clueing in that in that sentence but three other really great actors and you know to be able to do movie where a lot of is just sitting around the table and listening and talking and fighting and laughing and joking with each other is, you know, real treat. These are, you know, steve queue began and richard gere and rebecca hall are some of the best acting partners you can have. We had great time. In this day its fast and furious 79 and the 82nd super hero movie has come out were so used to all of this action on screen in order to get the bucks. Sure. Do you think that a pure really good acting movie in this day and age can be a blockbuster . Im hoping so. Well, i hope so. One can always hope. I mean its not an adventure. Its an adventure film psychologically i think. But it certainly could if, you know, people give eight chance. I think people are a little hungrier for something with a little more depth than they realize. I love a popcorn movie just as much as anybody else. And then every once in while i need to be challenge add bit and so i was certainly challenged making this movie and i think people will enjoy it when they go. I think its an age old parental question, own up or cover up. I know youre a relatively new mom. As am i i have young son as w well. Did you find yourself questioning yourself as a parent what you would do if you were given the situation . Oh, sure. Oh, sure.
