Yes. Youll teach us how to get just that. Well start with little quiz, right. Well start with a quiz first. When your debt free or you have low debt it really does affect your credit in positive way. Sure. So you ready holly. Im ready. Question number one, your debt has an expirat it does. Youre right. So ding ding ding call the statute of limitations. For example in washington, d. C. Teres a threeyear statute of limitations on your debt. If you odette, you havent paid it or used it in three years they have three years to come after you legally after that they really dont have any Legal Backing. But does it still affect your credit score. It does. That doesnt ever go away . No. It does mean they cant continue to pursue you legally. Thats good to know. Neglect question. Number two, if you odette a debt collector can call you at any time at work or at home . Well i think that it probably feels like they do, but my guess the law says they cant do that. Correct again. So this is false. A debt collector cannot call before you 8am or after 9 00 p. M. Your time. So if theyre calling sometimes that does happen that its tollly illegal. Can you report them. You certainly can. Okay. Next question. Next question. A debt collector can let someone else know that you owe money . Hmm. Thats a good question. Um, again, this think i feel like they will do that but theyre probably not supposed to do that. Thats correct. This is false. They are not allowed to let someone else know that you owe money they cannot let your job know unless they have Legal Backing to do theyre trying to collect and take money from your check. They cant let your coworkers know and this is happened. What about a relative. Definitely cannot do that. Your neighbors. Interesting. Just knowing that debt collector is not supposed to let someone else know other than you that you owe money. Okay. Yes. So number four, if you tell a debt collector to stop calling you, they must stop calling you even if you actually do owe them money . Oh, well, i would say thats probably false. They can call you as long as before the statute of limitations is up. No. This is true. Really. Yes. If you send a cease and desist letter so that means just because you owe money it doesnt mean that they can contact you. So you would send this letter you can fax it or email it or let them know verbally and they cannot contact you but what i would do is, provide a way that you want them to contact you if you dont want to have calls any more. Do you not have to let a debt collector call you. Next question. Next question, five, there are law that is protect you from debt collectors . Yeah, i would assume so. A lot of people dont realize this. There are laws theyre call the fair debt collections practices act. Say that five times fast. I know, right. So those laws are in place to make sure debt collector dos not over step their bounds. Okay any more questions. Just two more. Youre doing great. I want to get to our tips. Your child can inherent your Student Loan Debt . Oh, um, your . This is trick question. If its federal debt new york city. Thankfully. They cant not but if its a private student loan they certainly can. Okay. Last question. Last question, how can you start fixing your credit today . How can i . Yes. Well, i have something called the live challenge. Free financial challenge folks can sign up and by doing the challenge step by step for three weeks i show you how to fix your Credit Report and raise your credit score. Awesome. We have less than two minutes. You have some other really good tips that people can put into effe yes. Lets start with your first tip which is automation. Yes. 35 of your score is your paper history. So if you pay on time regularly youll go to affect your score. Easiest way to do everybody can do that through their bank. That is definitely good. Umhmm. Decrease your utilization. How much of your credit limit thats been allotted to you are you actually utilizing. If you have 100 limit you dont want to go over 30 of your limit. So no more than 30 on your card at a time. Okay. If you decrease your utilization youll significantly see a raise in your score. Could you ask them to increase your limit . You sure can. That wouldnt necessarily hurt you as long as youre staying at that 30 mark. Make sure it wont be a hard credit pull every time you apply for credit they pull your credit score its a hard pull lit lower your score temporarily. Okay. All right. And then the third thing is piggyback on someone elses good credit. You can act actually inherits credit. Grandma using her credit. Shes great at it. She can add you on as ass an authored her credit card smartly it look like youre both using it smartly. My fear with that if youre the good credit person and someone piggy backs on you and brings your credit down. They wont. Youre not going to issue them a card. They dont get access to your credit. Thats the key. Yes. Okay. Pay off your pennies. People dont realize that credit scoring companies they dont care about the am you pay off they are actually looking at your habits. If you have say like eight bucks a month that you get swiped on your card maybe you have a netflix account. If you pay it off every month in full it look like, whoa, holly paid off like a full debt every single month in full. So you just between put something really small on it and pay it off automatically every month. That is great tip. Last but not least, focus on one debt at a time using the snowball system. Yes. The way that works is this. You pay off the lowest debt that you have. Okay. You really focus on that pay the minimum to everyone else and just focus on that one debt and once its paid off you use all the money that you used to pay off that debt and put it toward the next lowest debt on your list. Pay that one off. Gather all of t to that, to the second, third lowest debt on your list. You know what i like about that. Thats whole small manageable debt. When you look at your whole debt it can be overwhelming. If you chisel it away. Umhmm. It becomes doable. Thank you. Youre welcome. My dad used to say, many drops of water does a mighty river make. You know i just its really important for me to take on work that i never done before that gives me an opportunity to challenge myself as an actor. And, you know, i absolutely love my job. I think i love it more now than i did 20 years ago and its still remains a mystery to me. That is, you know, what is important to me to continue to, um torque challenge myself and, you know, never, you know, never totally figure it out, you know, for it to just kind of remain a mystery and keep plugging away. What i love about york character i love how she carries herself. That doesnt make it seem as cool but it was outside in this big giant kiddie pool and it was just, yeah, it was a craze seek, crazy just to be in that suit in the water and you know like lifting body out from the water and like bad. It was intense. The movie ghost in the shell it opens up on friday. Its very well done. Obviously that scene shes talking about shes in crazy suit. In the anna mae film the character was nude. It was a nude shell. So we couldnt really show you some of the scenes in the film where shes a little bit nude. Its inter interesting. She seems all business to me. She is. I tried to ask about her daughter. Theres nothing inn appropriate about your question at all. I thought it was legit question. I know what you mean when you talk to someone you have a little bit of crush on. You just want to get a little bit you feel like youre connected. Its not all business.
