across the chesapeake bay pushing into delaware now. we're pretty much done with the rain here. might another brief shower pop up? it cpart, we are done with the rain. we do have the mist out there and that has got to work itself out during the next few hours. temperatures across the region, about where you would expect them to be, primarily in the 70s, some 60s. 76degrees in the district. 76 at dulles air -- airport and 75 in ball. misty conditions this morning. humid this morning. we'll see sunshine breaking out as the day progresses. we'll look for what is not going to be a bad day. traffic flowing freely in each direction. got a little bit of that fog hanging around. that is keeping crew in sky fox on the ground until further notice. lanes are open in each direction between bethesda and tyson's. that's a check of your fox 5 on-time traffic. now to a developing story in prince george's county. a police officer and a suspect taken to the hospital. >> sherry ly has more. >> reporter: good morning. this happened in a high-crime area of chapel oak. it was being targeted by police and those officers were on patrol when they spotted these four men and then all of a sudden, one of those men opened fire. a bullet hit one of the officers in the arm. another cop then fired back. in time, one. suspects was hit, also in the arm. the officers were part of a special police unit called a saturation unit that targets problem areas. investigators say that the suspects were engaged in suspicious activity but weren't specific about what they were doing. they were in the area of marblewood avenue and reed street around 10:40 late last night. this is an area divided by homes on one side and an industrial park. police aren't saying how many shots were fired. the suspect and officer were taken to the hospital but are expected to survive. police did take all four suspects into custody. no word on charges at this time. the suspects have not been identified and police aren't saying if they recovered a gun at the crime scene. it is unclear if the suspect that was hit is the one who fired initially at the officers. no one else was hurt in the shootout. the name of the officers involved also not being released at this time. police say they are still investigating. that is the latest here from palmer park. back to you. >> thank you. some other stories we are following, a child pornography bust that stretch as cross more than a dozen countries. it has local ties as well. scott spiegel of ashburn, virginia one. the other suspects arrested here in the u.s. the nearly two- year investigation targeted nearly 600 members of a child porn web site. in all, the feds say they uncovered the equivalent of 16,000 dvds worth of pornographic images. >> they allegedly traded graphic image as and videos of adults molesting young children, often violently. >> there are a to be of teenagers who could be impressionable children. two others were arrested from our area. investigators are still trying to track down at least 20 other suspects from the u.s. now to a guilty plea from an alexandria elementary school teacher accused of producing child pornography. justin coleman of fall church taught in john adams elementary school. yesterday, he pleaded guilty to two counts of producing child pornography. u.s. cairn attorney says coleman altered thousands of pornographic photo to make them look like former students and made his own videos of sexual abuse with children. coleman will be sentenced in october. he faces up to 30 years in prison. yvette alexander being fined. alexander was cleared of several other accusation in a complain that prompted the investigation. we are learning more about what may have ledy to tragic murder-sued side in montgomery county. psychiatrist margaret jensvold and her 13-year-old son ben were found shot to death inside their home in kensington on saturday. the boy's father, jamie barnhard says he believes his ex-wife killed their only child out of compassion. he says his son was morbidly obese and bullied at school and was on the autism spectrum. as investigators continue to search for clues in the death of an 11-year-old new hampshire girl, police confirm her stepfather's trust has been impounded -- trucks that been impounded. we'll tell you what they are looking for. soy we'll be roy back. -- some 600,000 people are still living in the tents and flimsy homes since the earthquake well over a year ago. the fear is that the rain could spread the deadly cholera outbreak. we'll keep an eye on the storm too and hopefully, it passes through outmuch damage down there. >> the other problem with that, it is a tropical storm, 50-mile per hour wind. not so much worried about the wind although actually in haiti, they would be with the flimsy structures. it is only moving at about six, seven miles per hour. >> so the possibility of flooding. >> it could dump on them and sit there for a were walking into last night when they spotted these four suspects in the chapel oaks area of prim county. this was i high crime -- of prince george's county. this was a high crime area with a special unit on patrol. at least one of the suspects they spotted started shooting without arounding. this happened around 10:40 last night. the special police unit called the saturation unit was pat patrolling the area. they spotted the four men engaged in suspicious activity but investigator aren't saying what specifically they were doing. the officers began to investigate. one of the suspects opened fire hitting an officer in the arm. another cop shot back, hitting a suspect in the arm. both were taken to the hospital and are expected to survive. all four suspects were taken into custody. it is up clear if the suspect that was hit by police is also the one who initially fired. police have not released the names of those suspects or the name of the officers involved in this shooting. no tainted meat began nearly five months ago. the cd kiro 7 reported that nearly 40% of those infected with the strain of salmonella needed to be hospitalized. doctors are cautioning against this outbreak of salmonella heidelberg saying it is multidrug-resistant. to ensure it is safe to eat, measure its temperature. >> don't try to eat urine cooked turkey. cook the meat thoroughly. if you need >> good question. >> it is a good question. typically, it would be higher on a hot day and cooler on a -- or rower on a cool day but it is not the temperature -- the temperature does not impact the. you v index. other things do impact the uv index but the temperature itself does not. the uv are the rays from the sun that are not good for us. on i day where you have more sunshine and like, more of that is getting through and it will be a warmer day as well. so the answer is no, it does not impact it. however, there are some things that do. i'll start off, tucker. >> you want me to start off? >> no, i said i'll start off. >> no, you said you'll start off. why dope you start -- why don't you start off? why are you telling me that you are starting off. >> the thicker the ozone layer, the harder it is for the sun's uv ray's to penetrate it. clouds, now, uv rays do penetrate clouds but uv radiation levels are highest under cloudle skies. >> that plays into his temperature question. when it is cloudy, it is typically a little cooler. so in a sort of indirect way, if it is a little cooler because of clouds, then you will get less expo shower. >> but it is not the temperature itself. >> the big of the story of all is geography. the close are you are to the equator where the sun is high year round, the higher the uv index year round. during the win are we are 1 and 2. >> also time of day. you v radiation is typically strongest in the hours around solar noon. now, solar noon is not necessarily twelve noon. it can vary by an hour or more on eager side of that but generally speaking the worst times of day for. you v radiation is between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. >> the sun's rays will still penetrate through clouds. i think it is 80% of the sun's rays will still reach your skin. you want to make sure you put on the lotion or stay covered up during the summer. >> so there you go. any questions. >> so not directly impacted but there is a bit of a pattern though just based on -- it is higher in the summer. >> technically speaking, i'm answering his direct question, does the uv index change with temperature?
