barry. >> we now know that the council is going to meet today to talk about the contract controversy surrounding the former mayor. the "washington post" is reporting that the council will likely vote to censure barry, severely cutting his authority and the council may also refer him to the u.s. attorney's office. all of this stems from allegations that barry abused his power when he awarded city contracts. barry's lawyer says there are no policies regulating earmarks and personal service contracts. much more coming up in a live report this hour. a big story we are following this more than, tomorrow, same-sex couples will be able to apply for marriage lances in the district. yesterday, opponents to the move took their fight to the supreme court filing papers with chiefious john roberts and, in fact, today generally will be a cloudier day. it is also going to be a cooler day. yesterday, we actually made it up to 50 degrees. not bad at all. there are your clouds in for this morning. there is your storm system down to the south. leading edge of that storm system making its way into southern portions of west virginia and extreme southwestern virginia. i would not rule out a stray sprinkle later on today maybe during the afternoon. but for the most part, i think that precipitation holds off until tonht. the forecast for washington for today look like this. we are going to see a lot of clouds around today. cooler temperatures, high around 456789 that is below normal. the wind will be much lighter today. expect to see some precipitation develop. it will probably likely be a rain snow mix overnight. overnight temperatures will be key. where it gets to freezing or below, we'll see that snowfall. elsewhere, it will probably be a mix. assume layings an inch or less is what we're expecting with this storm. then, for your five-day forecast, tomorrow, i do think for some of our viewers tomorrow morning could be a little messy. 4 # for our high tomorrow. 44, 45 for thursday open leaving college park headed westbound around 495. the crew in sky fox now hovering above the beltway near connecticut avenue. the lane here are open as you contue arpdz towards 270 and continue out towards the exits there at the american legion bridge. no problems to reported southbound connecticut avenue. looks good as you continue down towards beach drive and out towards 410. no problems to report on the beltway, inner loop. it is quiet from 355 continuing around towards silver spring. if you are making the trip southbound along 270 out of jeer an noun, it is heavy and steady approaching and passing 109 but we have delays approaching father hurley boulevard trying to get past 118. the pace improves only to slow again at montrose road headed out towards the split. inbound new york avenue the rate lean is blocked. brentwood parkway still should down between v street and mount olivet because of a crash. you are denied access from new york avenue to exit at the brentwood involved, at the feel like the marketing healthy enough to warrant thitype of activity. we got the deal with aig which we'll get to. you hay pharmaceutical deal. another couple of deal in europe and that got effect going. we had positive news on both the corporate front, dillard's gave a great quarter. the manufacturing part of our economy really seems to be getting going, at least more so than anything else. and we also got consumer spending and people are spending a little bit more than we had anticipated. that helped retailers as well. that gous off to the races. he do have the automotive companies reporting their nawbz. we'll keep an eye on toyota and how well ford and gm have done now that toyota has struggled in the last month. lets adig into the aig thing a little bit more now. i think the bottom line here is taxpayers want to say are we going to get money back? are we going to get anything out of these deals? >> yeah, you're right. when it was initially announced that they were taking $182 billion in bail outfunds, effect was agast and rightfully so. they have drown down and they have about $95 billion in debt and that doesn't include assets essentially owned bit u.s. government. how much of that are we getting back? the only way to get it back is if they start is hing off the provable units which are the life insurance arms and they've started doing that and generating some cash. they are selling one to met life. they announced yesterday they sold one to prudential plc, the british prudential in total generating with hope about $50 billion from the sale of just these two units. a big portion of that goes directly to paying back that $95 billion. as they sell off the great units, their cash flow weakens and that lessens the likelihood that the reamandaer of that balance will be paid off. we are getting some of it back. will we get all of it back? i think there is still a lot of skepticism there. >> always something. still ahead, a toonie that is councilman marion barry apologizing but today, the city council is expected to take action against the former mayor. they are holing a meeting today to discuss an investigation into council to be a big story and the council is expected to take this issue up at about #:00 this afternoon or after the regular council meeting, whichever comes first. they are going to be looking into this, whether or not they are going to vote to censor him. that is a possibility today. it would take away basically his committee chairmanship and the "washington post" says this would refer to public corruption allegations to the u.s. attorney's office. barry apologized last week as you heard saying he had used poor judgment in getting a $15,000 contract for his ex- girlfriend donna watts brighthaupt. a week after a report came out of an investigation into council earmarks. it also accused barry of misusing public funds and violating conflict of interest rules. now, his attorney has said that there are no policies to regulate earmarks an personal service contracts for the city and barry has mained all of this time that he has done nothing wrong. but he did admit to taking several thousand dollars from brighthaupt for loans that he had made to her. now, it is pretty clear at this point that the council does plan to doing something today. exactly what, we're just not sure but we i love sparkling water but i like to mix it with a quarter cup of juice. or you make the smoothie with yogurt and it is very thick so why not thin it out with the juice. exercise creates inflammation. if have you it after a workout, will reverse the exercise induced inflammation. >> sounds good. in the end, don't waste your money on a whole bunch of stuff. >> especially if it is diet. i would rher blocking access from new york avenue to the brentwood parkway. the problem is they're investigating an accident involving a pedestrian. unfortunately, it is a fatal crash involving a pedestrian and that is what has tied up the brentwood parkway. it remains closed off near ninth street. the brentwood parkway shut town between v and mount olivet road until further notice. they won't let you use the ramp off of new york avenue this morning. lane are open on new york avenue. traffic slows from south dakota avenue to west virginia, montana and closer to the third street tunnel but you are
