>> well it's my sixth year hosting with gary and with the concert. so for the first time i participated in the concert was the memorial day right after 9/11. so you can imagine for me it's specially significant because the first thing hi to do when i first did the concert that was first year was say the words of four new york firemen who losts the world trade center that day. and here i was for the very first time on stage with 300,000 people in front of me, the four firemen and their wives sitting in front of me in the first row and the orchestra playing behind me on the screens next to me is the film footage of 9/11. so i think it was at that moment that it all hit me how significant memorial day really is and what this is all about and what our country was in store for, as it turned out to be, for right up through the next ten years. and so it was very significant for me. and obviously it continues to be so. >> and obviously that is the key. i mean, a lot of people think about memorial day and think about a barbecue and cook-outs and the start of the summer season. but the day itself is a very special day of remembrance and that's what you all do there at the concert. tell us about this year's event. >> well, again, this year's event, we're going to have a wonderful group of actors and performers. we have forest whitaker and dianne wiest, jason ritter, and gary son ise. and we have amanda who couldn't continue on american idol. and we have aj cook from criminal minds, coming in and doing one of the bits. it's a mixture of bb king. we have a mixture of music, of dramatic readings. for me it's become the most important holiday of the year because it's like you say, it's a time -- it is a time -- the indianapolis 500 and that many people sacrificed our lives so we can have holidays like that and live in the country we live in. it make this is holiday that much more special and one that should be observed with -- enjoy it and take a moment and watching a concert is a good way of understanding why we have this holiday and why it's important. >> it airs live on tbs this upcoming sunday night and again you mr. sonice are wonderful to take the time out of your schedules to take part. we are thank you you spent some time this morning to talk about the big concert this sunday night for memorial day from capitol hill. we'll see you this weekend. thank you, sir. >> thanks, tony. i can't wait to get there. >> it's always a great show. stay with us. a final check on the weather is coming up next. and we've got the answer to today's trivia question. and before we take you to break, here is our facebook fan of the day. it's rose duckett. it is her birthday. happy birthday to you. and this is a picture of rose and her daughter chris who is dressed for the senior prom. search fox 5 morning news and post a comment under rose's photo to be another fan of the day. we'll be right back. my diet?
