you, gwen. the other big story we are following, authorities are searching for a driver that took off on foot after a crash that left someone dead. it happened early yesterday morning on suitland road near hillmar drive. the victim's family says there were plenty of other accidents in the same place. >> on the side of the road, evidence of a terrible accident. family members tell us the vehicle ended up here where there are now balloons. the spot where 1-year-old tiesha williams died. >> the car flipped. >> reporter: tommy is her mom. she said there were four people inside the vehicle at the time of the accident. but her daughter was the only one seriously hurt. she has been told the car was on top of her. what makes it even more difficult to take for the family is that once the car flipped over and she was he ejected, the driver of the car then ran away immediately. >> i think it's horrible. heartless. no matter what the situation is, you got to be held accountable for your actions. my baby girl was in there and you had no regard for her and just left her. >> reporter: but there were neighbors nearby and other drivers that rushed in and helped lift the car off the tiesha but it was too late. tammy says that she met one of the neighbors that told her this intersection is dangerous and this is not the first accident here. >> she came out to tell us, you know, that multiple accidents happened at this spot and it's a shame they haven't done anything about it yet. >> reporter: the family says she want to know more about the intersection hoping to prevent another tragedy. police try to track down the driver that fled the car after the accident. >> just tell them to come forward. if he was speeding, drinking, whatever it is, just come forward. >> reporter: in prince george county, matt auckland, fox 5 news. >> police in baltimore say a parkville middle school student is dead after falling out of a moving vehicle. police say 13-year-old michael thomas opened the passenger door and leaned out of the car to throw up when he fell and was struck by another driver. the crash remains under investigation tonight. police in virginia make an arrest after four people were shot in prince george county early this morning. it happened at the holy springs meadow apartments in district heights. it appears all the victims will survive. the suspect is currently awaiting extradition back to the county. lawmakers are g considering two casinos in the area. that got several organizations working to stop it from happening. 67 different churches and community groups are running an online petition drive to make sure the casinos aren't open. one says gambling is a drain on already poor communities. >> we said long ago that when the five kay cases that were announced came to town, they wouldn't produce the revenue that was promised and that has proven to be true. now the legislature is coming back to the people saying we need to expand in this race to the bottom to see which one of the states around here can prey on their poor the most he efficiently. >> one and five compulsive gamblers attempt side at one point and everybody should be educated on the problems casinos can cause. a former delegate is spear heading it. supporters of slots are suggesting that for the harbor as a possible sight. you believe they could be economically hurt by the casinos. >> yes. well, i think it's an awful, awfully bad public policy to put a known debt creator, a casino in the middle of the worst foreclosure crises in the state. prince george's county has a quarter of all the homes in the entire state that are at risk of foreclosure. so, it's just bad public policy. >> on the flip side, senator peters submitted the bill calling for a referendum to allow a county casino, slot casino. he has been quoted saying if he oppose the slots you can't ignore the kind of money it can generate for the county, as much as 20 to $40 million annually. >> we are upside down on the money. a few years back our local grader, prince george business round table and the baltimore president's round table commissioned a study on the benefits and the costs of hosting a casino. and they found that it would cost between 132 to $376 million. so, we are upside down in terms of the cost benefit analysis. >> i got a two parter for you. how many a little closer, we have the three distinct lines we think about. this is the rain line, the mix line and the snow line. some of the snow is lighter in some areas. some of it more moderate. here is the snow totals so far. charlotteville, virginia, 2 inches. 5 in parts of augusta county and waynesboro 5 inches. these places are within the advisory and the warning areas. let's take a look at radar. we will give you a closer look closer to home. you can see just to the west of manassas, we have a rain-snow line mix and light snow that pushed its way across areas of the west through parts of virginia and to the south. this will continue to move across. as far as d.c. metro is concerned, we have a little bit here and there. not a whole lot major happening. there is a dry air slot that kept it from coming in earlier today. it's going to stop it from going too far north as well. that will be a little help in terms of all this precipitation. let's go back to the weather maps. we have warnings and advisories to tell you about. winter storm warning and advisory is in effect until the early morning hours of monday. these are the areas here. charlottesville is under the win -- winter weather advisory. waynesville five inches where the warning is. none of that is in effect for the metro region. it will taper off into the overnight hours. can't rule out light precipitation. slick roads will be a real danger. our five-day forecast has a few unsettled days. temperatures will be on the rise. we got a big warm up coming your way into the week. overall the tides weren't too bad. temperatures in the 40s. not far off the mark of where they should be. a few degrees warmer. right now into 3 gaithersburg. 41 dulles. 41 martinsburg. 42 at national airport. winds will be picking up a little bit anywhere from maybe 10 to 15 miles per hour. tomorrow president's day a ridge of high pressure builds in. great day for a holiday. no shortage of sunshine. dry and sunny. by midday tomorrow, expect to see plenty of sunshine. 45 degrees. tonight we have to deal with getting rid of the precipitation and getting it out of the way. we will see it taper off overnight. overnight low
