anything and said there was nothing to tie perone to the drugs saying his client was visiting and had no knowledge of the lab. the judge ordered a bond retention hearing for wednesday afternoon. a virginia tags wxe1456. emotional testimony in the trial of a man accused of murdering chandra levy. a woman claims ingmar guandique stalked her, then attacked her on a jogging trail just two weeks after levy disappeared. fox 5's paul wagner live with the latest on today's testimony. paul. >> reporter: well, brian, this is an entirely circumstantial case against ingmar guandique and the prosecutor in this case amanda haynes said as much to the jury when she addressed them earlier today. she is trying to show a correlation between two attacks in the park that guandique has pled guilty to and the attack of chandra levy. they believe that guandique is guilty of all three killing chandra levy and the two other women. one of those other women halle shilling took the stand today and testified about what happened to her. she described in chilling detail and in very tearful, as a matter of fact, how this man came up behind her on a jogging trail and tackled her from behind. she then told the story about how she ultimately got away. halle shilling told the court she just wanted to hit the trail that day, listen to her music and escape, about the as she ran deeper into the woods the man she had seen watching her suddenly came up from behind jumping onto her shoulder and wrestling her to the ground. her voice cracking with emotion, shilling told the court, "i felt as afraid and alone as i've ever felt in my entire life." in a battle that lasted month more than a minute or two shilling had to think fast. when i saw the knife, i fought harder. i was scared. i toppled oh backwards. i panicked until i -- over backwards. payneed until i remembered something from my self-defense class. shilling stuck her fingers in guandique's mouth. he bit her, then ran off. prosecutors then called a woman to the stand who said she was stalked in the park around the time of levy's disappearance but she didn't tell the police until two years later. when asked to describe the man, amber fitzgerald said he was hispanic, slim but well built wearing street athletic wear but when prosecutor amanda haynes asked if she saw anyone in the courtroom who had the man's complexion, fitzgerald said no even though ingmar guandique was sitting just to her right. the other woman attacked in the park by ingmar guandique, we did not see her today. we expect she may testify tomorrow and through all this testimony sat susan levy, chandra levy's mother. she sat in the courtroom and listened to all the testimony. she took some notes. when she left the courthouse earlier our business reputation has fallen dramatically. >> reporter: now here at the washington post, the paper's latest poll on this governor's race found that maryland voters are not happy with the current state of their economy, but that does not seem to have hurt the reelection chances of their governor. was there anything that surprised you in this? >> i think any movement is surprising. >> reporter: john cohen, the washington post poll director, said the post found o'malley leading ehrlich 54% to 40%, a 14 point lead, despite the fact nearly half of those polled said maryland is on the wrong track. >> the majority of maryland voter as prove of the way martin o'malley is handling his job. he gets far lower ratings when it comes to budget and taxes, of course. >> reporter: that double digit digit lead is backed up by a baltimore sun poll. the rasmussen reports poll has ehrlich trailing by 10%. >> the future is not a gift. it's an achievement. >> reporter: but no matter how the campaigns try to spin the numbers, there's one number they can't escape, seven, number of days left until the election. now both campaigns have been bringing in their party's big guns in these final days. last stewart is taping his show here at the shakespeare theater in d.c. and we're in line with some of the audience members. let me ask you why are you coming to the taping? >> i'm a big fan of the daily show. we were really glued glad to get tickets. >> reporter: -- glad to get tickets. >> reporter: what is it about jon's sort of broadcast news you connect with? >> his candor mostly. >> he managed to be a comedian without losing the point which is that the country is kind of messed up and we should do something about it. >> you get a feeling for what's going on in the world and you get to laugh at the same time. >> reporter: do you think he has a slanted point of view? >> clearly he has a very slanted point of view which is both sarcastic and liberal. >> reporter: some people are saying the necessarily do. while i think a lot of people are liberal, i don't think there's been enough outreach about what they can do to help them or voter registration or anything else and i think that jon special interests. as governor, ehrlich cut education, increased college tuition by 40%, and vetoed an increase in the minimum wage. and after losing his election, bob ehrlich joined a lobbying firm and got paid $2.5 million to represent casinos and wall street banks. bob ehrlich--24 years of putting the special interests first. the controversy over building a mosque near new york's ground zero has once again brought a lot of attention to the islam religion and now muslim leaders are hosting mosque open houses for nonmuslims in hopes of giving people a better understanding of their faith. chapter on negative stereotypes about islam. >> the main thing is open the doors and let people share, to clarify who we are so people have no fears and so we can develop stronger relationship years all of? >> reporter: the goal of holding these outreach events is to reverse the negative effects that the terrorist attacks on 9/11 had on islam and the opposition to building an islamic cultural center and mosque two blocks from ground zero. >> 9/11. the planes were hijacked and the religion was hijacked. now we want to build close to there so that people know that muslims are mainstream americans. >> reporter: pamela geller, head of stop islamization of america, sees a more sinister purpose behind the pr campaign. >> proselytizing to islam, bringing people to islam to convert is what i really think is going on. this is not about sensitivity. >> reporter: reaction so far to the open houses has been positive. >> i was always interested in the mosque and i wanted to be more educated about it. >> contrary to what some people may think, they're just like any other faith or religion. there's good and bad in all types of people. >> reporter: muslim leaders hope more mosques nationwide will open their doors. they see it as the best way to counter mounting opposition and to truly becpart of the american fabric of faith. lauren green, fox news. >> tice and steamy out there, mentioned it, too, just a sprinkle here or there. we've seen some very light showers down towards st. mary's county, st. mary's city. you got just a light shower. now within the last few minute we've seen a little line popping up just to the west of i-81. it is moving to the east. it may hold together long enough to bring a shower to winchester, possibly even hagerstown up in washington county and if it holds together past 81, i could see how maybe it comes along and brings western frederick county and western loudoun county a brief shower. that is about it. looks like we really stay dry this evening. in terms of where we're going to be, there's still rain chances coming up this week. i just mentioned that tomorrow night into wednesday. it does look like it's going to stay in the 70s or right around 70 for most of the week. we will cool down friday and into the weekend, temperatures back closer to normal and right now i know it's only monday, but right now halloween looks dry and a little bit chilly with temperatures in the 60s. look at these highs today, 76 reagan, 74 for dulles and bwi was up in the middle 70s, too and we started off mild this morning with temperatures generally in the 50s, most of those locations in the upper 50s this morning, 72 in town, quantity co 69, fredericksburg 70 -- quantico 69, fredericksburg 76 and just about everybody in the area fairly mild, pittsburgh 76 degrees, chicago 69 and beckly west virginia in the 60s as well. tomorrow morning we'll get a little patchy fog in places and we will be warm again tomorrow. look how mild we start, 64 degrees tomorrow morning at 8 a.m., mostly cloudy, 72 at noon, mostly cloudy, 75 degrees at 4:00, mostly cloudy and we could have a couple of showers early. most of the rain is going to come in late tomorrow night. here is 6:00 on futurecast tomorrow. most of the rain to the north, but this could come by a little bit earlier than that. here's the rain coming through wednesday and by wednesday morning maybe even some thunderstorms and most of wednesday looks like it will be wet, okay? and then we dry things out thursday, cool off just a little bit. the real cool push comes late in
