minivan had turned into and stopped against this grassy hillside. he presumed the driver was simply in the process of making a three-point turn. after completing the delivery, he drove out but noticed the van had not moved. >> i had a mind to keep going then i looked in my side view mirror and i saw white hair. i saw it was an elderly person. >> reporter: he walked back to check on the two women could see. they were in poor shape, firefighters believe, because of fumes emanating from a five gallon gasoline can like this one that was filled on a shopping trip earlier in the day. >> her eyes were open. i asked her if she was all right. she was making movements. she never said anything. i was trying to get her to put the window down and open the door. she was trying to unbuckle her seat belt. she was really not responsive to the questions i was asking or the directives. >> the other woman in the passenger seat, she was leaning with her mouth gaped open. no response. >> earl expense called 911 and was about to break open the windows when firefighters quickly arrived and did just that. a third person, an elderly man was found unconscious in the minivan. all three were rushed to a nearby hospital where they were treated and ultimately released. montgomery county firefighters remind people to open a window when transporting gasoline, no matter how hot it is outside. and it night and into saturday as a cool front will be moving in our direction. it's not very cool but it is less humid. sunday and monday will feel a lot better, even if the temperatures are in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees. today we have been noticing a little bit of a flow from the ocean. you can see showers and storms on the dell marva today. we have a cold front that will be moving in this direction. it has more moisture with it. significant moisture, i would say, from detroit all the way down to texas where our second tropical depression of the season made an early landfall around sought padre island around midday. the winds are around 30 with that. we are looking forward to saturday a lot of clouds around and showers and storms with decent downpours. good chance for most of us to see that and cooler at 88 degrees. sunday 91. it will be warm but less humid. a great day to get outside and escape the air-conditioning but we are grateful for the air- conditioning. today we took an edge off the heat. 95 adulles and reagan. bw i-94. so much better than the 102 the last couple of days. even a few 80s showing up for baltimore, gaithersburg and quantico. eventually we will head down to the lower 80s tonight and upper 70s. when you combine the heat and humidity -- it'more humid today than yesterday -- you can find places like fredricksburg over the 100-degree mark. d.c. feels like 95. quick look at futurecast, i want you to see one or two showers around tonight. the big front gets closer. by friday at 5:00, more action in the mountains. the rest we hope will be around here late friday into saturday as the refreshing front comes through. it doesn't bring us mid-80s but upper 80s ought to feel better. tomorrow's temperature 92. we have a few showers and storms in the late day and evening forecast. saturday 88 degrees. the front is crossing. i think the afternoon could improve. sunday, monday and tuesday, low 90s but it's about the hottest time of the year around here
