that had crashed into the shaw tavern on florida avenue near fifth street. police discovered he had been stabbed. when we spoke to his mother by phone, she was in shock. >> dwayne did not deserve to die this way. he was a very, very good kid. >> reporter: linda cooper is grieving the death of her son while trying to also soothe the pain of her other son aaron who also works at the hospital as a clinical supervisor in respiratory therapy. >> i said to him don't worry. i said don't feel no hate. i said because that's not going to get dwayne back. i said just feel love. >> reporter: police are investigating the circumstances of the death. >> at some point he pull over and got out of his vehicle and became involved in an argument with the subject. at that point the subject stabbed him. he got back in his vehicle and tried to drive away. >> reporter: friends just don't understand. >> he's not a confrontational person at all. he's, you know, if anything, you always look to him. he's looking to help someone. >> reporter: derek naylor lives next-door to dwayne's brother aaron in hyattsville and says dwayne was just the best. >> very nice guy, very helpful, very reliable. >> reporter: dwayne worked at washington hospital center 12 years, started out as a patient transport tech, went to x-ray school and was recently promoted to senior ct scan technologist. he knew everybody. everybody knew him. the hospital released a statement expressing condolences saying brisbon was a respected radiology technologist, a valued colleague and a treasured friend. brisbon's mother tells us they'll bring him back to paterson for burial. she hopes whoever called her son turns himself in. >> that wasn't the only deadly stabbing in d.c. overnight. 34-year-old lamont devore of northeast was found stabbed at the intersection of kenilworth avenue and quarles street at 1 a.m. a $20,000 reward for information leading to arrest expect conviction. president obama marking the one year anniversary of the death of osama bin laden with a surprise trip to afghanistan. he met with president hamid karzai to detail the roadmap ahead between the two countries, fox 5 will thomas in the newsroom now. >> the secret trip in the cover of darkness was about keeping the president safe it. is one year to the day navy seals killed bin laden. president obama traveled to the war zone in afghanistan to lay out an exit strategy. air force one landed tuesday night just outside the afghan capital, a 13 hour flight. he then boarded a waiting chopper and traveled 40 minute to kabul, the afghan presidential palace, to sign an agreement with afghan president hamid karzai. it sets conditions for a u.s. presence there after a 2014ed it line for the withdrawal of most -- 20 14 deadline for the withdrawal of most combat forces. the president spoke with some of the troops at the airfield. it was a bit of a pep rally. he reminded them this day one year ago when bin laden was brought to justice and while troop reduction has begun some wonder why we don't leave now. the president says we can't do it yet and made his case in a primetime speech. >> we must give afghanistan the opportunity to stablize. otherwise our gains could be lost and al-qaeda could establish itself once more. >> reporter: the president's agreement with afghanistan is in advance of the nato summit in chicago later this month. the u.s. can say to other world leaders we're making the commitment to help afghanistan long term. now you should as well. the fbi says it has busted up a homegrown terror plot, five men arrested in ohio last night after investigators say they tried to blow up a bridge. this was the target, a bridge over a national park in brecksville, ohio about 15 miles south of cleveland. the five suspects are part of a self--described anarchist group with no known ties to international terrorism. undercover agents infiltrated the group last october and gave the group fake c4 explosives. >> last night the two coconspirators placed the explosives at the two concrete pillars at the high level bridge and attempted to remotely detonate the devices from a location that they deemed safe and one that would possibly give them an alibi. all five coconspirators were taken into custody last night while the fbi and atf -- by the fbi and atf shortly after they attempted to detonate these devices. >> the group wanted to plan several plots to terrorize the cleveland metropolitan area. earlier today we talked to virginia congressman gerald connolly about the arrest. mr. connolly is a member of the house foreign committee on terrorism. they're saying homegrown terrorism is not something new. >> sadly we've had homegrown terrorism in this country for a long time. it's sadly a long tradition and so we just need to stay vigilant. i think that's really the lesson from this latest incident. >> congressman connolly says since 9/11 the cooperation among our local governments and fbi has grown exponentially, but we will always be a target and must remain vigilant. the fbi says it's gotten hundreds of tips on a former d.c. elementary school teacher since adding him to their 10 most wanted fugitives list. 30-year-old eric toth was added to the list last month accuse of producing child porn, has been on the run since '08. the fbi believes toth has multiple victims and is out of the d.c. area. a spring resurgence for occupy protestors, hundreds of rallies held around the world today for international workers day also known as mayday. fox's jane metzler is unsustainable, so it should be fixed. people deserve social justice. >> reporter: in seattle protestors clad in black blocking the flow of traffic while public school students skipping out of class in michigan spent the day rallying for immigration reform. >> we don't think about nothing but coming home and running inside the house and knowing our parents are still there. so it's a life that we do not like. >> reporter: mayday historically a day of protest in many countries and across the world tens of thousands demonstrating through streets with a specific cause in mind. in turkey cries for better jobs and safe working conditions. greeks marching in athens voighting opposition to that country -- voicing opposition to that country's new austerity measures. as spain sinks back into not be surprised if we get some showers and thunderstorms in the overnight. could be a rumble. it's quite delightful tonight and in anticipating of these showers and storms coming in, we've had a little front swing through. it's dropped the humidity a bit and the temperature has dropped to 69 degrees in the district. i want to start with that cluster of showers and storms brian just referred to. this is it. it's been holding together for many hours and typically we would see this weakening out, which we are seeing some signs. , but indications are tonight this might hold together enough to swing through our area in the predawn hours. so if you hear a rumble of thunder, that's where it's coming from. that might just be the first round of showers and storms we'll have to deal with in this warm and summer-like weather pattern that will feature some rounds of showers and storms over the next few days. how about this for may 1st, 84 degrees, more typical of the middle of june. i'm not sure we'll get quite that warm tomorrow for starters. we'll have those showers and storms come through in the morning and perhaps another round in the afternoon, but certainly a summer feel for most of this week as our jet stream ridging way to the north and that allows all that warm air coming in and around this area of high pressure to stay in place across most of the east coast for the rest of this week. we're really thinking low 80s, maybe mid-80s. now tomorrow probably in the upper 70s, 79, 80 degrees, but definitely a lot more like june than may. about meanwhile still 69 degrees here. we see cooler temperatures to our north again, this frontal system in the process of slipping through, but it turns around and comes back through the area again tomorrow as a warm front and that may trigger more showers and storms in the afternoon. we're calling for overnight clouds and a shower or storm. 66 degrees, real mild for the 1st day of may. tomorrow's temperature 79 degrees, a mix of sun and cloud, early morning showers before the sun come up and a few more maybe in the afternoon. potentially some of those could be on the strong side, might feature some hail or gusty winds. at 8 a.m. mild at 69 degrees, could be a lot of cloud cover around from the leftovers of what moves through overnight. by noon skies brighten. we warm up to 77 degrees. we'll watch between noon and 5:00 for another round of showers and storms, temperature of 78 degrees. so here's the deal. this warm front moving through tomorrow is going to be a bit of a trigger. there will be another disturbance moving to our north that might trigger afternoon showers and storms. even so he quantico could get to 80 -- so quantico could get to 83 degrees, dulles 81, frederick 80 degrees. also wanted you to see the storm prediction center has outlooked part of our area for the possibility of some of these storms to be on the strong to severe side, maybe some small hail, maybe gusty winds and certainly heavy downpours with the of humidity we've been basking in. i'm pausing futurecast at 5 a.m., want you to see that it projecting a line of showers, heavy downpours, maybe a rumble of thunder from d.c. south and maybe isolated stuff to our north. we early morning rush hour i think we're okay. by 4:00, 5:00, most of the less of that activity has slipped to our south, but could be son stragglers going through the -- some stragglers going through the late night hour. your five-day forecast, we've got some thunderstorms on each day. i don't think any of these days is a washout, but more typical of what we see in the summer. saturday we don't have a thunderstorm on there at 85 degrees. there will be another front this weekend and we're working hard to get the timing down. we don't have huge confidence just yet in the weekend. we'll keep an eye on that, but everybody was talking about bryce harper's big debut tonight here at home. dave feldman's got more. this is the verizon 4g lte sport
