Through, its going to bring us a chance of thunderstorms, and pretty gusty winds but also on back side going to bring us the winter cold air. Once again, it is returning, just went on a short vacation, i guess. Today, the vacation was very much appreciated. Look at this, temperatures into the upper 70s. Even low 70s, i mean, right across the aboard. We hit 70s plus. Just about in all of our neighborhoods. Even warmer than that in some areas. Nobody turning their nose up at that. 60 degrees at quantico, we got 67 in the nations capitol. 63 at annapolis, cooler near the water. 70 at fredericksberg, 68 at winchester, 72 at culpeper this hour. And look at hagerstown at 74 degrees. Just wish it could stick around. Winds are another factor. Theyre going to change as well. Sustain wind are anywhere from seven to 14 miles an hour, but we have wind gustses in some neighborhoods. Thats going to change with the frontal system, were going to have pretty gusty winds across the area. Heres what i want to show you. Look at the division where the cold air in the 20s and we got the 70s ahead of it. This is where that cold front is. Its a pretty strong frontal system and right now from storm push ongoing parts of ohio, that is going to make its way towards us once we get for a tomorrow and thats exactly whats going to happen. Before it happens, the first part of the day it will be warm with the southerly flow. Fog is possible. Along the line of that frontal system and with it, showers and thunderstorms expected to happen on the back side of it, thats where that cold air comes in. Ridge of High Pressure builds in. As well as temperatures going right back to the 20s and 30s, i cant warm it up much more than maybe 40. Storm under a marginal risk of severe weather, futurecast by the time we get to 9 00, 10 00, things start to fire up and move towards the i95 corridor. Heres one in the afternoon. Heres a, ally at 2 00, 3 00. By the time we get to 4 00, the colder air on the back side creates snow showers over areas to the far northwest and the higher elevations. Whole combination of the winter returning. 70 degrees by midday tomorrow. By the 4 00 hour, 70. Once again, we start to see those storms firing up. For tonight, 58 degrees. Weve got into the 70s for tomorrow. Then we cool down on the back side of that system, then start to warm up into the week. We get into the 60s all over again then back to the 50s. Its all over the place. This nice weather makes you want to kind of go out on the waters and enjoy. Gary got tips, hes in alexandria. Gary . Reporter thanks a lot. Gwen, i have a feeling tomorrow a lot of these not out now obviously are going to be out. Weve already seen a lot of folks out here prepping for tomorrow to get time out on the water. It will be great. Starts off good. Then were going to get gusty and potential thunderstorms. Back in december 18th we had kind of the same scenario where a significant cold front was going to be coming in. Temperatures were in the upper 60s right around 70. And down around the river there were a lot of boaters on the water when the big gusty cold front came through. About 40 Miles Per Hour and unfortunately a lot of these boaters found themselves in a very, very chilly river. Tomorrow, heres the deal. Its going to be beautiful again, especially for the first part of the day, you are heard gwens forecast. But whats going to happen, i would say after 2 00, weve had the potential for these winds to really get gusty tomorrow and if these winds kick up with thunderstorm, they can go, ten, 15, 20s miles an hour perfect for sailboating even gusts around 40 which could create problems. Mindful of that. We think the window is about 2 00 to 4 00 tomorrow. The river, the potomac and the rivers that feed that are running about 40 to 45 degrees. Its very, very cold. And if we have incidents tomorrow and somebody ends up in the water, its for the going to take long with those kind of cold temperatures, even though its so nice outside, keep in mind still february, so potomac is still very, very cold, just kind of keep that in the back of your mind. I would say to be headed back to safety by 2 00 tomorrow because once again, once these thunderstorms come through with the frontal system, the winds will go from nice to very, very gusty, potentially dangerous, very, very quickly and could come out of the blue, for that matter. A little bit of safe boating the weather because its about to change as you heard and saw in gwens weather. So you know, its gorgeous but it will get little bit more like reality around here. Sarah and shawn, sending it back to you. Couple of things to think of. We saw this last year, we hope it doesnt happen tomorrow. Fingers crossed we dont get any snow for the rest of this time period.
