when the realization he was shot came in and just stood there. >> police quickly arrested the suspect identified as 21-year- old robert daniel washington the third of monassis. police will not confirm if it was the wounded office whore shot the suspect but -- officer who shot the pus sect but he has ungone surgery for -- suspect but he has under gone surgery for a gunshot wound and will be charged. now police say the officer is in stable condition no word yet on the suspect's condition. our other big story tropical trouble, tropical storm lee is drenching the gulf coast, spawning possible tore fay does, -- tornadoes. meanwhile there is a hurricane. a lot happening in the tropics let's get a shot of the tropics. lee is actually just producing a lot of heavy rainfall now, there is a lot of convection along the gulf coast as a result there are threats tornadoes could be spawned it is moving north, south central louisiana but the rain bands are stretching all the way to the north into the tennessee valley and expected to reach into the southern ap lausannes as well they have already seen upward -- appalachians as well they have already seen upward of 10 to 15 and could see 20. the other part of the tropics we are watching kattia a category 2 hurricane, it actually has no watches or warnings or threats to land at this point but it is creating a lot of surf, and will continue to effect large swells bahamas, leeward islandbermuda and could impact the u.s. coast. here at home, seeing clouds as well as storms across areas of the west we could see thunderstorms into the course of later on flood advisory in effect this has nothing to do with tropical moisture but because we are looking at tides well above normal, 85 degrees national same as dulles, 83 baltimore we will have to cleaning up. soggy and slow moving tropical storm lee soaked the gulf coast bringing at least 6 to 10 inches of rain in some parts of the deep south. >> you have to be careful where you walk a lot of through into the day. now i mentioned yesterday, the better part of today would be fine but we could possibly see some rain and storms, and we are still in that mode of where you can see a beautiful shot out there, we have had plenty of sunshine humid though, is it ever sticky outside and muggy, 82 degrees our high at national, 82 at baltimore, we have had a lot of moisture moving its way through it is sticky and humid out there, 83 degrees at quantico, 86 monassis. 84 martins burg, pretty warm, 83 baltimore, 82 annapolis and 88 fredericks burg. skies, we see clouds rolling in a coastal front advisory as well nothing to do with the tropical moisture or rainfall we are expecting but, it is because tides are going to be just above normal into the course of the overnight hours this is in effect right through until 5:00 a.m. monday. sky conditions we are seeing clouds rolling in we have a cold front to the west, it will be a big player in what happens over the next couple days but right now we are seeing storms across the western region some of those seeing heavy pockets of rainfall i am anticipating some of that will sneak into the dc metro region, just keep your eyes to the skies. a lot of action however, in terms of this frontal system, this will gradually move to the east as we move into the monday, tuesday period we will see across, by monday we will be left with storms as a result and this is actually going to be part of what is going to hell 7 p to bring a lot -- help to bring a lot of moisture from the gulf coast get ready for this, here is a look at tropical storm lee our infrared satellite shot well inland across louisiana right now producing copious amounts of rainfall they have a lot of tornado threats here as well and they are dealing with high surf and the spread of moisture will go up to the tennessee valley and southern portions of the appalachians that will start to push its way to us. here is a look at kattia category 2 hurricane becoming fairly strong and expected to intensify as it pushes across the waters. here is a look at lee it is going to become a remnant low over the course of the next couple days look at the cone where the moisture will trend and then we look at kattia category 2 hurricane here is a look where it starts to strengthen. day 4 it starts to take a turn and we are hoping it continues to turn more east to get away from the shore we are looking at large swells but the moisture from that is expected to push its way through along the coast. spaghetti models becoming a bit together more and bringing it more with a northeasterly turn a lot of uncertainty prior to that. look at this timeline moisture from the gulf of lee pulled in with that frontal system and puts us in a pattern of continual rain all the way through to the middle part of the week without much of a break your 5 day forecast will reflect that. tonight we are talking mainly a chance at some storms in the forecast, be prepared for that keep your eyes to the sky 5 day forecast showing you a chance of rain and storms every single day from that tropical moisture and that frontal system not much of a break there. >>
