You are part of the community. You know some of the issues. About 90, 16 and 17year olds have registered since takoma park lowered the age in may. I just generally tend to think that the average 16 and 17yearold is not interested in community affairs. Its tough enough to get mature adults to Pay Attention to that stuff. Takoma park suffers from a serious turnout problem. 20 is considered high and tomorrow with everyone running unopposed, they will be lucky if they get 1,000 of the citys 18,000 residents to come out have and vote with people as young adds 16 being allowed to cast ballots. How is it possible that the line of communication is such that no one, none of these coaches is in touch with the team to know this is going on. Why doesnt it bubble to the surface a little quicker . I think there are a lot of questions to be asked. You have to have that communication between the team, between the locker room and the coaching staff. At some level, there has to be a leader. It is teams destined for failure when they dont have that leadership. Its curious why nobody stepped up and said anything. Christine brennan, we appreciate you coming in. But get this, an even bigger number, 3800 cabs do have the new dome lights, but that means that roughly half of the cabs out here that have been parked or still on the streets do not have those new lights. The cab drivers have partnered with a local teamsters who say they will go to Court Tomorrow to seek an injunction against the citys ticketing and towing, until the garages are able to meet the demand.
