First well start with breaking news out of orlando this morning. Police in Central Florida this morning are investigating a shooting that happened at a night club in orlando. Officials say that the shots are were fired at the pulse or land owe night club and theyre reporting multiple injuries. You see there on the right of your screen Law Enforcement officials setting up for news briefing in a few moments. Well try to bring that to you when it begins. This is what we know. The gunman is dead and theyre describing this scene as mass casualty situationch the night club posted on their own Facebook Page earlier this evening telling people to get out of pulse and keep running. Police are expecting to hold that News Conference later this morning. Well continue to monitor that for you and bring you that live here when we can here news this sunday morning. Of course the other big story at home is the heat. You felt it yesterday for sure. I felt it when i went to cut the lawn yesterday morning. Glad i did it earlier rather than later. Yesterday believe it or not first 90 degree reading of the season. First of the year actually. Were not quite officially this summer. Unofficially summer. Theyre just about to take off. Holden was avid cyclist himself and highly decorated navy s. E. A. L. Who served in the gulf war. He survived that and then last august he was hit and killed by a car as he was riding on massachusetts avenue in bethesda. There was a memorial set up at that crash site and earlier this month, we told you how it was vandalized. A bike, American Flag, a medal placed there, were all stolen. After that it was wonderful that holden was able to be remembered here not only by his friend but so many fellow cyclists. We heard that hold dep this ride twice. He was a gold medal winner and so again, just a very nice gesture he was able to be honored today ahead of the rac race. This is all going on in crystal city and its annual event. This happened thursday morning inside a business on garden city drive in landover. Police say the suspect followed the victim from the new carlton metro station. They released Surveillance Video hes seen wearing a red sweat shift and symbol that looks like a cross or ps sign. They hope someone may recognize him from the way he walks. He walks with a very distinct limp were asking the community if you have information on who this person is, give us a call. He scares mevrm i usually come here especially at that time. Go to school. Im not here in the morning. But to me, safe in the morning. Again, police say if you recognize this moorng man, Prince George county police would like to hear from you. There have been two incidents on the new mark espinad in rockville the 3900 lock of Shady Grove Court in during wood to be exact and they released photos in hopes someone recognizes this man and crime solvers is paying up to 10,000 leading to his arrest. Is recovering after stab yesterday along 9th street norm west. Police say the victim and suspects got into an argument over uber. Suspect pulled out a switchblade and stabbed the victim in the side. Someone nearby attempted to stop the altercation and the suspect threatened that person with a gun. Anyone with information is asked to d. C. Police. Multiple people are dead inside Pulse Night Club and at least 42 people were transported to various hospital around. Do not have exact count. Obviously our condolence friend and family. Well continue to work with fbi and Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Orange County sheriff departmenta and at this time ill turn it over to the sheriff. Thank you, chief. While this certainly is a traming di for our community, i will reiterate what mayor dire said this community is resilient and this is a time in which we all should come together. Onen county Sheriff Office responded along with Orlando Police department to the initial incident. There were deputy sheriffs involved with the lor land owe Police Personnel on initially entry after 2 a. M. This morning. And in addition to that, members of my Hazardous Device Team responded and have been engaged in helping to secure the scene as well. We have had as many as about 1 we have had as many as about 100 of my personnel who were actively engaged in this incident and i will also reiterate that this say collaborative effort between our federal, state and local Law Enforcement authorities. At this time the Central FloridaIntelligence Exchange center has been activated. That is our Intelligence Sharing Consortium for this region. We will be work ago long with the fbi as well as other Law Enforcement agencies as this investigation continues. Again, what i will say to our community is that if you are aware of any of the activities that may have led up to this horrific scene, to share that information with your local Law Enforcement authorities. As we move forward well make every effort we can to ensure that thisom safe and secure community. We have that commitment from all of the local Law Enforcement agencies. We have multiple Sheriff Offices and Police Agencies who have committed to work to that endeavor and if you see some suspicious type activity we have shared with this community in the past that our expectation is that you Say Something about it. If theres anything nat looks up usual at this point this is an incident as i see it, that we can certainly classify as a domestic terror incident. At this point, i believe the next speaker will be the supervisor agent in charge of the regional Florida Department of Law Enforcement officer da danny banks. Thank you sheriff. Ill reiterate a couple things already know win of the most important questions for the state and nationally is do we consider this an act of terrorism. Absolutely were investigating this from all partys perspective as act of terrorism. Any time we have potentially dozens of victims and in any of our communities i think we can qualify that as terrorist activity. Whether its domestic or international is something we will get to the bottleonly of. Were glad to have the partnerships weve already spoken of particularly partne partnership of fbi. One of the important things well get to the bottle of, do we have any ipd kailters before this event happened today . We will have more information im sure forth coming to all of you about who this individual is and was he a loan wolf and does he have associates and those are certainly all the things that well be looked into now as part of our intelligence and investigative activities. You know the state of florida is a huge state certainly for a lot of Different Reasons one tour inch is the industry and business this year and we have no suggestion that theres any threat to either of those im today on in the near future. Thats certainly a concern right now its important the message we want to pit out. We have no indication of other types of activities similar to last nights activity. Either in the state of deplore day or anywhere else in the nation right now. But were putting every resource collective resource that we have together to validate that statement and to ensure the safety of the remainder of our citizens not only through today but through the next weeks. And as the sheriff said i really want to reiterate the point our see something, Say Something campaign is valid and works and we want to encourage people to use that. Banks just said and that at this time at this particular time theres no reason to believe we have no credible or singular information to suggestion theres any further threat to orlando or surrounding area or anywhere else from this incident. Be mindful the fbi is known for slow, methodical investigations and details and follow the facts and see where they lead us and take them to the ultimate end. Theres nothing we wont do to bet to the bottom of case and well be prepared to present information when we can and are able to present it to you. We would look forward to being as pleatly transparent as possible. We here in hor and low region especially with fbi and partne partnerships we share here. That was Orlando Police chief john right there taking questions from the media about this just horrific night club said still inside the club at least 42 wounded and when asked if they thought this was incident of terrorism they said yes, absolutely. They described this morning they believe domestic terroris terrorism. Fbi on the scene with local law enforce. As we said there this morning. Still no word on the identity of this groupman. Police are or land owe said that nine officers from the Orlando Police department were involved in the shooting and killing of this suspect. One officer was shot himself and however the police chief saying it was the officers kevlar helment that made have saved that officers life this morning. And the most frightening things or tweets people were sending out from inside the club telling loved ones were here in the bathroom gunman is here call police. At this point they blevrd approximately 20 people dead and approximately 42 people right now are injured and a gunman was killed at the scene by Law Enforcement that responded to the shooting and shots were fired at the Pulse Night Club overnight in orland orlando. And and briefing by fbi and local police determining a domestic terrorism incident. The fbi is asking people in the florida area w again right now the news this morning 20 people dead in night club sooting in Orlando Florida. At least 42 injured in that mass casualty shooting. Officer who was working extra duty there responds top shots fired he and two other Officers Exchanged gunfire with the suspect and this developed to hostage situation. Right about little after 5 00 this morning we made the decision to go in and rescue. We were being contacted by people in the bathroom mere by 15 people in separate area and our biggest concern was future loss of life and we want sod save these people. This is the first time you have spoken publicly since he passed what was it like for you. It was wonderful it was a chance for me to publicly thank the Cycling Community for all the support that theyve given to my family over the past in my opinion months. I know you were presented with a pip this morning. I received a coin from air force cycling soybtion sponsors of event. Earlier this month we reported on memorial site that was set up at the place where your husband was killed that was vandalized bike there and American Flag and medal stolen that was difficult for you and your family. That meant a lot personally and to my entire family. I know it does to the Cycling Community. It was a cycli g the bike up it meant a lot to calm attention to cycling safety issued and for me an my family it was a place for us to go to kind of be closer to tim. Right. And i know on a more positive notes you spoke how the Cycling Community has been there for you and your family. Can you speak more about that. Yes, some of the advocacy groups have given some of tims older daughters the opportunities to speak on issues of cycling safety and oak the one set up the go spike and for me the most meaningful thing was the group of couple hundred cyclists that met us at the home orial bridge for tims final ride.
