But Terry Mcauliffe is the one who pulled out the narrow victory over republican Ken Cuccinelli. Mcauliffe captured 48 of the vote, kush nellie kush nellie cuccinelli received 45 . Reporter the next governor of virginia waited weaded into a group of supporters. Though he only by only 2 percentage points, democrats old and young are celebrating big. High five, baby, high five. What a great night, everybody. Reporter mcauliffe thanked Ken Cuccinelli calling him a principled man but referred to his stand on abortion and gay marriage as reason for the republicans lost. Most democrats and republicans in virginia want to make virginia a model for pragmatic leadership that is friendly to job creation, a model for welcoming the best and brightest scientists and innovators, no matter your race, gender, religion, or whom you love. If the trailing candidate finishes within 1 percentage point, he will be abe loued to he will be allowed to seek a recount and people are already saying that is a possibility. In maryland here are some of the key races decided last night night. The mayors race in rockville an interesting one. Phyllis marruccio stepped down after her 80th birthday and Bridgette Newton is the winner 53 to 47 . Some other interesting matchups. In new jersey as expected governor Chris Christie easily defeated his democratic challenger and it was a landslide in new york citys mayors race. Bill de blasio won. He will be the first democrat to hold the office since David Dinkins in 1989. At least five of 11 Rural Counties in the Rocky Mountain state voted to explore seceding from colorado. While she was chair of the board at Options Public Charter School in northeast, the lawsuits alleges officials at the school created the private Contractor Company and benefited from it themselves. Woman was slain in her own apartment on new years eve, police have made an arrest. Ken molestina has more on the arrest and this case that sat cold for decades. Reporter the year was 1984. While her friends celebrated the new year that january 1 morning, 43yearold rachel cox stayed home at her Congress Heights apartment. His d. N. A. Had been entered into a database while a prisoner and just this year d. N. A. Evidence from the original crime scene was entered into the same database. Then there was a match. They found taking testosterone was soargted with an increased associated with an increased risk of death, heart attack or stroke.
