virginia is face phasing terrorism charges. fbi agents raid 34-year-old -- is facing terrorism charges. fbi agents raided 34-year-old farouk achmed's home. investigators say he wanted to kill as many military personnel as possible. bob barnard has a report. >> reporter: we spoke to metro riders along the blue, orange and yellow lines, allegedly targeted by the accused terrorist. >> that is scary to hear because i ride metro every day of the week. >> you know, it is minimal to any security on the metro so i don't imagine it would have been hard for a guy to do that. >> i'm kind of scared to ride the train because there is so much going on. >> reporter: the suspect allegedly wanted to simultaneously bomb four crowded stations using roller bags. pentagon city on the list. >> it is scary. i was telling my cowork are here walking down to the metro that i'm afraid to step in here. >> i find it reprehensible that they would want to kill people and destroy this beautiful station. i am also very thankful the fbi was able to stop the person before he was successful in doing this heinous act. >> reporter: metro transit police remind all riders to be on alert. >> you see something that looks out of place, looks suspicious, tell an employee. >> reporter: police say not one rider, not even a metro employee ever alerted the authorities to the suspected terrorist. >> anybody can get on. they were supposed to check bags every so often, which would have been a hassle, but they don't do it. they don't do anything. >> people are riding with ipods and not watching and not listening. >> reporter: metro transit police this year launched awe new antiterrorism campaign calling it blue tide, a show of force if you will, deploying high-profile teams of k-9s and other officers throughout problems yesterday with tornado watches and warnings yesterday afternoon. that is all off the coast now. we have much quieter weather. we'll have cooler and drier air start to filter in today. cooler virginia man planned to bomb four metro stops. this morning, farouk achmed is facing terrorism charges. sarah simmons is live with more on thousand riders are feeling about this foiled terror attack. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. very uneasy, as you can imagine, for most metro riders when they find out that a 4- year-old man from ashburn, virginia is accused of plotting to -- a 34-year-old man from ashburn, virginia is accused of plotting to bomb several metro stops in the d.c. region. he was arrested yesterday. he was born in pakistan but is a naturalized u.s. citizen. he handed over video of several subway stations that he believed worked for al-qaeda. it turns out that the fbi was in a sting operation that played out over the last seven months. achmed got the fbi's attention after he tried to obtain unspecified materials. metro riders are still going about their day but some are still very worried about this news. >> there is minimal to any security on the metro so i don't imagine it would have been hard if a guy to do that. >> right now, i'm kind scared to ride the train. there is so much going on. they don't give you enough information. >> reporter: the fbi
