confessed to killing another young woman from peru. 21-year-old stephanie flores was found dead in a lima hotel room last week. police say joran van der sloot admitted to murdering her during an interrogation. voters in virginia will go to the polls to vote in five congressional primaries. two of the races are in northern virginia. the cap on the leaking oil well in the gulf is now capturing a half million gallons a day but the massive oil spill has broken up into hundreds of oil patches floating around the gulf. president obama is defending his response to the spill. in an interview to air later this more than, the president used some strong language to say that he has talk wade number of people in the gulf region not as an academic exercise but so he knows whose, quote, butt to chance than ever before you could have to go through a security scanning machine that could see right through your clothing. 7-year-old deshan dsh is about to take his first airplane ride with his grandfather. >> what are you most excited about? >> going to texas. >> i don't think it would be a problem. safety is more important than anything. a lot more that is going on than just being able to see an x-ray through somebody's clothes. >> starting tuesday, the screening will be a primary method in four of 28 lanes at the airport. the government says the x-rays help them detect threats. >> what it is like to go through there? >> nothing. you just stand there. they are not really seeing through my clothes. they are just seeing objects that i shouldn't have maybe. >> so you think -- >> no problem at all. >> reporter: the first advanced screening position will be moved to the primary position at bwi tuesday. three others will follow this week. critics say these machines amount to an electronic strip search. the government points out the images are permanently deleted when the screening is over and travelers will have the option to pass on the new technology if they want to. >> i would probably opt out. where you fly through a regular airport, they should know you. it is a little bit invasion of privacy, definitely. >> reporter: there are currently about 80 of these advanced stunning confession from the main suspect in the 2005 disappearance of natalee holloway. dutchman joran van der sloot has confessed to killing a young woman from peru. police say he admitted to killing 21-year-old stephanie flores. today, police are taking him back back to the lima hotel to help them reconstruct the events leading up to the murder. it is said he became angry when he found out flores reached him on a laptop. there has been an arrest in the beating death of a toddler in annapolis. 22-year-old kira smith discovered her two engineered daughter dead in her bed. police say the little girl had suffered a fractured skull, broken leg, cuts an bruises and had been sexually assaulted. monday police arrested smith's boyfriend, 17-year-old timothy hite. he is now facing multiple charges as an adult including second degree murder. a daring daytime heist at a maryland grocery store. police released the dramatic video hoping you might be able to help them catch the people would do this. a gun put a gun to a guard's head and took the money and ran. if you recognize the people in this surveillance video, police would like to you give them a call. voters in at 57. 54 at gaithersburg. 5 # degrees at frederick and 60- degree at baltimore. and that nats game, as you are heading out for game time today, expect to see fair skies. it will be beautiful for
