hot and humid. 91degrees. more details coming up. we are starting off tragedy on this memorial day. a triple tragedy if hyattsville. bridge county police say three young men died of carbon monoxide mississippi oning after trying to power a home using a gas generator. the teenaged girl who found the bodies was hospitalized. a ride on metro leaves one man dead and another one injured. investigators are still trying to piece together clues. detectives know that all of this started as a fight i think side the congress heights station in southeast sunday morning. police say it appears the people involved didn't even know one another. the white house says british petroleum's next effort to contain the oil in the gulf could result in a temporary 20% increase in the flow of oil. it involves cutting and removing a damaged pipe. meantime, hurricane season officially begins tomorrow and scientists are worried that, if a hurricane does hit any time soon, million of gallons of floating crude could turn into a crashing black surf. it is one of the largest gatherings of bikers in the country. rolling thunder is about a love of country and a gratitude for those who served in fredericksburg heading up through here, lorton heading up towards the mixing bowl in springfield. you should find all of your lanes are wide open. we do have your hov lanes running northbound and restricts are lifted today. 95, 66 and 270. on route 50, they are still in effect. route 50 look great right now heading out of easton. you can see everybody moving across without a problem. peak travel time will be after 11:00 a.m. today. so you want to hit the road early. back to you. we begin in prince george's county where three young men were found dead in a hem after they were using a gas generator for power. the bodies of the three were found inside their home on 38th avenue in hyattsville yesterday morning about 9:00. police believe they died of carbon monoxide poisoning from a gas generator in the basement. that was being used to power the home. their loved ones are stunned. >> eli was very funny. he was very funny. >> police want to remind that you gas-powered generators can be deadly. they should be kept outside and way from open windows septa police are trying to figure out who stabbed two men on a metro platform. this happened just before closing sunday morning at the congress heights stop in southeast. a fight broke out and a 21-year- old man from southeast d.c. made it to the top of the escalator and collapsed and died. the second stabbing victim survived. >> at this time, we don't have any specific description of anybody we would be looking for. we believe that we have probably already identified some of the people that were involved. >> a third person would witnessed the attack was treated for medical emergency. investigators are looking for witnesses who may have seen what may have happened. anne arundel police want for find what happened with a man shot in a car. the victim says he was riding in the car before 2:00 in the more thanking when a bullet came through and hit him in the leg. we want to take you live right now 5,000 feet under water as the oil spill is still gushing into the gulf of mexico. so far, there is no solution. bp's top kill effort failed. the company is now trying to focus on cleaning up oil slicks that have august when the relief wells are dug. >> reporter: the white house energy czar says the government has ordered bp to drill two relief wells in case the first well doesn't work but critics continue to say bp is running the show and not the administration leaving many to wonder if the right decisions are being made to help stop the leak. >> they manage the robots. they put in place all of the equipment that has to be staged on the ocean floor. but at the end of the day, the government tells bp what what to do and at the end of the day, we will hold bp accountable for all of the costs associated with this. >> reporter: a price tag that continues to grow as the oil continue to leak andling ore the shore. in washington, sarah simmons, fox 5 news. president obama is in the windy city this memorial day. he is taking time out from his chicago vacation to speak from the abraham lincoln national cemetery before returning to the white house tonight. vice president joe biden will take part in a wreath-laying ceremony tomb of the unknowns in arlington cemetery. president obama is not the first commander in chief to miss the ceremony. other presidents have missed at least one. it was a special memorial day on the national mall where veterans and their families were saluted with a moving tribute. kelly o'hara just one of those who gathered to honor those who gave the most for their towards a full repeal of don't ask don't tell, more than a million gay veterans and service members are watching. it is the military fight for equality that is decades old. in congressional cemetery, where memorials to the past abound lies the grave site of one who looked to the future. leonard matlovich graced the cover of time magazine in 1975. his headstone reads, quote, they gave me a medal for killing two men and a discharge for loving one. >> i have always remembered that. >> reporter: melissa klein took her friend to visit the cemetery as the nation remembers its veterans. days ago, the house passed a repeal of the controversial don't ask don't tell policy. since 1994, more than 13,000 gay service members have been fired under don't ask don't told. eight hundred of them have been mission critical troops. there is no record of veteran tom swan's death on his stone, just one of his message. >> i have no idea what the big deal is. it makes no sense to me whatsoever. i don't want people to feel afraid of being able to say who they are. >> reporter: even one of the architects of the law, general colin powell said this weekend he supports the repeal. >> i think it is perfectly acceptable to get rid of the law and the policy. >> reporter: but admiral mike mummen, chairman of the joint chiefs of staff had hoped congress would wait until the pentagon finished surveying the troops. >> i would like the legislation to wait until we've completed the review so we can look at how to implement it. >> reporter: under the bill, pentagon leadership gets the final say over when and how the repeal is conducted. the legislation repealing don't ask don't tell still has to pass the senate. >> the pentagon's review of the possible reveal is expected to be done by the end of the walk landing on the historic yorktown waterfront. we opened memorial day of 2005 and river walk landing was developed by york county as a destination for locals and for tourists to come. we have, of course, the historic battle fields. we have the victory center here for the historic part as well as historic main street. shopping, nine stores of varying products and the river walk restaurant. so we look at ourselves as a destination for touring, for shopping and for dining. >> and of course, great seafood as you mentioned. all you got to do is drop a line right behind us here. >> and wave been known to do that. >> richard karr, the lump crab meat that i see here. does that come right out of the chesapeake in. >> this is lump crab meat. and this is local crab meat. so it is real crabs. we use three different kind of crab meat for the crab cakes. there is the special crabmeat meat, over piece of the crab other than the claw and that is used in one style of crab cake which we make which we combine the claw and the special. at dinner tomb, we use the lump and a little bit of special dwroo. this is one of your specialties. so without further ado, let's show us house you whip this up. >> we start with the sauce for the crab cakes and it is one egg and about a half cup of mayonnaise. the seasoning is some white pepper, mustard and parsley with a little tabasco. >> got to love that. it gives it a kick. >> we want the crab to be the dominant flavor. we make the cause just to bind the crab together. we use the majority of the crab cake is made with lump but we have to add a little bit of special crab meat to it to keep it together. there is no fill ir-- >> what makes it stick? >> the sauce and the special crab meat that we put together. >> okay. so there is no vegetable or bread crumb filling. it is just crab meat and sauce. and we'll take this and we serve a lot of crab cakes. >> i bet you do. any other sphecialties here? >> oh, all of the seafood is -- the scallops are all local scallops and everything we try to do as simply and regionally as possible. >> i'm looking at the breading here which looks a little bit different than what i'm familiar with. >> this is the panko bread crumbs, awe japanese style bread crumb. >> is that better? >> it is very light. it does not absorb no the meat. >> so you will taste the crab meat instead of just the breading. >> the
