She clarified later to say they were going off in the basement at the time but the smoke had not yet reached the rest of the house and so thats why they didnt hear it on those upper levels but she said it looked like the deck just started to go up right like that so very lucky for these students. Now, when they went to check on her around 7 00 miss choi was gone. She was last seen wearing a brown shirt and gray and white pajama pants. Were following developing story out of d. C. This morning. There are new concerns this morning about speeding in a southeast neighborhood where a sixyearold boy was killed in a hitandrun accident. Xavier lucky had just turned six years old on wednesday and was hit crossing the street with his mother during his birthday cookout at livingston road at the apartments there. Witnesses say a car came speeding through and he was hit. Residents say they want the city to put up new Safety Measures so another child wont get hit. Its a park. A playground. You see this. And a school zone. So, were asking the city to put a speed bump up. Now its a little too late but were asking you to put a speed bump up a walkway for our kids to get across the street. The Bowser Administration sent out a statement with condolences to xaviers family. It happened at south capitol street and southern avenue around 11 30 p. M. Witnesses told fox5 they heard about six gunshot. No word on what led up to the shooting. Yeah, as erin mentioned if you look straight behind me here, the northbound lanes are closed and so if you are headed in this direction approaching farmington road on the northbound side, you will be res redirected. Traffic is building. Now the southbound lanes are opened. You can travel free through the southbound side but as many of you know that route 210 indian head highway this is a major access road. Its very dark out here. It looks like theres hardly any shoulder space to walk on but that is where the focus has been for the officers is right on that shoulder area in front of this cruiser. And so officers and the medical examiner, they have the difficult task of removing the body from the shoulder area of this road. They just left. But you can see they still have this road closed. Now, police say a woman was struck and killed by a this Early Morning on the northbound lanes of route 210. Were told by investigators that the striking vehicle did not stay on scene. So theyre obviously dealing way hitandrun investigation. No word yet on the description of the vehicle and when we got here there werent any other cars here or witnesses that we could seal but of course if you were driving by happened to see anything, you are urged to call Prince Georges County police. An 18yearold shot by police in manassas after a chase. Prince William County investigators say manassas city officers were responding to reports of shots fired. They came upon a vehicle which may have been involved in an initial call and tried to stop it. The officers say the car then took off. They chased the car into memorial where the 18yearold driver was shot. Opened fire. Why officers the man was flown to the hospital with serious injuries. There was a juvenile passenger in the car who was not hurt. We do have a crew on the way to the scene and well keep you updated on that breaking news. Police in Prince Georges County are investigating a deadly crash involving a school bus in temple hills. Witnesses say the car and the bus were traveling in opposite directions when they collided. The car burst in flames trapping people inside. The person died at the scene. No one on the bus was injured. Police told fox5 there was a call for shots fired just before the crash. Theyre trying to determine if those incidents are connected.
