The Washington Post give them credit they have been accurate in other reports instances theyve also inaccurate. Everybody remembers they said plainly that Rod Rosenstein the deputy ag wanted to resig out and say, thats not true either. So theyve been hitting and miss. I would say this its making for very interesting morning here at 1600 pennsylvania avenue. So whats the message then, kevin, between what the president has tweeted out want his intelligence and advisers are saying . It seems to contradict itself . When the white house says sources and methods, the Washington Post didnt say sources and methods. When the president says well im trying to get them to sort of be more malleable and help us with isis and things like that much thats not exactly what the post was saying in the piece. What theyre relating to the heart of this sort of lack of consistent see in messaging and sometimes i think the suggestion and the writing is the president is a little loose in the terms to use a nascar expression and he needs to be a bit more button up again the white house is strongly this morning, guys. There are also going to run some express buses from these closed orange line stations down to the blue line. Were told by metro orange line Train Service in Northern Virginia should be fairly normal between vienna and over here to Largo Town Center. Silver line trains running every 12 minutes between Wiehle Reston east and stadium arm rear. You see a few of them here. Metro says this is impacting about 18,000 metro riders a day. And this surge 15 is basically to replace 12 miles of track. 6 miles in each direction in this area. Police as well as richs family have said all along at least as early as about a month ago that these conspiracy theories that there was no basis to them. Now we have this private investigator who says indeed he has information that there may be evidence on seth richs laptop computer showing that hes been commu communicating wikileaks about a month before his death. Now lets go back to that crime scene of july 10th, 2016 and that is when seth rich was found dead in his neighborhood. Hed been walking home late at night from a bar his home. Police heard the gunshots. Rich was alive when they got to him but he died at the hospital. The murder has been characterized by dc police as possibly an attempted robbery. But richs wallet was not taken. Nothing of his possessions were gone. 12 days after his murder, thats when wikileaks dumped that large cash of emails from the Democratic National committee where seth rich work. That and a 20,000 reward put up by wick key leak founder Julian Assange also cryptic statements that he made in an interview on danish tv that really sort of sparked and fueled this controversy. Now we have this from the familys private investigator. The Police Department nor the fbi has been forthcoming havent been cooperating at all. I believe that the answer to solving his death lies on that computer which i believe is either at the Police Department or either at fbi. Ive been told both. But you have sources at the fbi saying that the information for sure. That could link seth rich to wikileaks . Absolutely. Yeah. And thats confirmed. Biggest decision of course the first lady and first family collectively have to make. Right. Of course the most important thing for barron. I think as we know from past history of other families like the obamas that had young children, the first lady is not go here until she knows her child is happy. Absolutely. So big decision, one thats very, un, different for Saint Andrews this the first time theyve had president ial child there as well that Community Needs to adjust. Life is about to change for the students now. [ laughter ] what goes into that . And the fact that the school is in montgomery county. How does that work as far as transportation . I cant even imagine like what river road will look like. [ laughter ] its 21 miles from the white house. Good right. It will be about 30 minutes. So either you go up wisconsin avenue or you go the beltway every day. Right. So either way it doesnt seem like it will be an easy journey. Hell definitely have to get up early to get to school. But i think, you know, probably used to that secret service will drive him but it wont be lights and sire reps and anything thats going to be really disruptive to everybody else trying to get to work at rush hour in the morning. Its pretty seamless. What happens, just out curiosity, say sid well is already pretty well known and it what would happen to schools typically when a first child goes . Does their stock go up by leaps and bounds as i would imagine . Well the school has to be the right fit for the child and any parent worries about that. Right . So you look in Washington Area we are all very lucky with all the independent schools, good Public Schools and good opportunities here. So i think the decision obv obviously has to be one and i was interested in look at the statement from the school as well. The more and more the school got to know barron the more they saw that hed be a great fit for the school, too. Theyre excited to have him there. You know, the students i have to say i hope that they the parents and the kids at Saint Andrews take page out of the book of the parents and kids at sid well. Because they really protected those obama girls. Right. For the eight years that they were there. And we knew that they were at sporting events. We knew the first family was there together. But nobody krupped their privacy that will be really important for this to be good fit. Anita wealth of knowledge test operations the white house. But the process around the president to filter the information and when and how its rec recorded and is really important. Let me ask you this n your experience dealing with white house the for lady or the president sure. Im sure theres many times the president has not agreed with advisers. Sure. Who is it in the situation does the im the presidnt this is the way it is if the president doesnt agree have to step back and absorb that trusted adviser. Whats the best most effective way for that work . The best thing for the president have all sides of the story come to him and thats the important part, chief of staff, deputy chief of staff for policy those that will bring all of information. National security adviser make sure that hes hearing from all sides. At the end of the day the dig rests on his shoulders sing singularly. And you know who is the last person to talk to him before he makes that decision . Maybe its the vicepresident or chief of staff. But ultimately the decision is his. But he needs to hear all sides and really absorb all the information and think of all the implications before the decision is made. It seems like every day, though, were getting, um, some news from the inner circle. Sure. Thats leaking out there. The last one i saw kelly on conway she feels like she needs tick at a shower sometimes after she comes out with the message. She denies that. The perception is pretty strong. Administration . Its very hard to work in a white house where everybody is not at least collectively understanding that the responsibility that they have is to serve the president best, and obviously there is a bit of chaos going on there where there are different power center that is make it difficult for people to feel that someone has their back, and in turn that the president s back is held. I mean, phrases have been thrown around unhinged, unnerved, process is snowballing. Right. Is this a situation though where it can be like, okay, lets just reconvene lets get these pieces back together and move stronger than we were before or are things running off the rail at this point. It had a to start at the top the president has to willing to be managed to a certain extent of the people that are around him, and who hes hearing from. So i think that there is the rails can be righted here. Its important. The American People want to have faith in their institutions and certainly faith in the decisionmaking process in the oval office. It will take the president being willing to change the way perhaps he operates, and how he filters information. But also it takes a strong leadership in the process at the white house start wig the chief of staff that gets this under control. Do you think President Trump can be managed a net at a . I think at this stage hes used to being a very successful. Right. Person and its worked for him. Coming into governing we all know is very difficult, and it really requires an amount of discipline that you have to, you know, be willing to embrace. I hope so. I hope for him. I hope for the white house. I hope for the people that are working there. The priests new documentary called the keepers debuts this week on knit flick it focuses on the unsolved murder of catholic nun in baltimore she disappeared in 1969 and her body was found several months later. Film maker ryan white had heard about the case as a child from relatives who knew the victim. Who was a high schoolteacher. Film maker ryan white joins us now from baltimore with more. Good morning. Good morning. How are you, thank you for having me. Im doing well and im so excited for the debut of the keepers on friday. Please for those of us who are not familiar with this story, can you tell us about what this documentary is . Yes. The keepers begins at a Catholic Girls High School in baltimore in 1969 where they had pri priea man named passes mass cal was abusing many of his students and many of these girls were confiding in their favorite teacher woman named sister kathy. Kathy was only and kathy told them she was going to do something about it, and the mystery kind of lies in that period but the fact is that kathy was found murdered she went missing and then two months later was found in a garbage dump with her head bludgeoned in. Our documentary is really look ago the the question of what sister kathy might have known and why she might have died. Its the ultimate cold case. It is. Its 47 years old now. We saw a little bit of the into the taj there and at the key of this as you mention is one woman who tried to come forward and received a very very chilling threat and you actually talk to her all this time later. Talk about jane doe. So jane doe has been a mystery in baltimore but she was a student at the high school and shes one of the girls that confided in sister kathy, and then the jane doe story has always been to see sister kathys body by father maskal and see what happens when you say bad things about people. So jane doe is a woman who for virtually her entire life has been trying to bring this truth to light in our documentary i think is very courageously putting her face and name on jane doe and telling her story which i believe has been deliberately buried over the last 45 years is finally bringing her truth to light. And you know just to bring it home you have a very personal connection with this whole story. Tell me, how early did you find out about this murder mystery . I actually didnt know about it until the last few years. Hmm. My aunt went to his high school and was a student of sister kathys and my aunt was also a friend of jane does in his school and in her add dull hood. So this wa a friend of hers that she had no idea had painful and horrific past. So a few years ago my aunt found out who jane doe was, connected me with jean and i began flying back and forth from los angeles to baltimore and meeting with jean, deciding in this would be a healthy net next step for a Netflix Series was never on the horizon. We were just meeting each other off camera deciding in we we wanted to work side by side in telling this story, and so that began three years ago and here we are now at the finish line. Took you three years to do it. How did you even brooch the subject with friends and family and dare i say police because police also there are accusations that they basically protected the church . Yeah i mean it wasnt always the most comfortable series to be working on. Right. Father mascal unfortunately was very well connected in baltimore and ran a ring of abuse, and he was the chaplain fo you know, connected to politicians and gynecologists and psychiatrists so it was a really sick, depraised network of adults that were abusing these girls and people in position of power that had something to lose if the story came out. So we as the film making team knew we always had that up against us probably as our biggest challenge was the fact that people in positions of power had not want to see this story come to light. Right. So we were constantly sort of battling that. But as youll see its seven episodes toe theres many incredibly brave people throughout the series who are speaking up for the first time and saying its not too late to try to get answers for this. One of the priests involved left the state years ago. The other players long dead now. What are you really hoping for as we thank you for your time today. What are you really hoping for after this series airs on fr friday . Well, i mean, ultimately the keepers is a and mostly injustice. So if our documentary can play some role in bringing this group of women some healing and justice win baltimore, but also undoubt the these stories are happening all over the world and the sad truth nobody has ever been held accountable. Nobody was ever held accountable for sister kathys murder. Nobody was held accountable for the abuse of these children and nobody was ever held accountable for covering these crimes up.
