Buzzfeed looked at the top election stories on facebook and the ones that generated the most engagement. That means the most shares, the most reactions, and the most comments. They found that in the three months before people were paying attention to the fake news stories than real stories. Buzzfeed found the top fake stories got more than 87,000 likes, shares, and comments a day in the last 100 days before the election. Now, the number one trending article in that time was about pope francis endorsing donald trump for president , and that wasnt even true. Washington post feed on Donald Trumps history of corruption, had an audience of 88 smaller than that top fake story. They published it almost as a trick a few days ago. When you read the article, its actually about all of these misleading headlines, which really drives home the point that you have got to check out these five tips to make sure. You have to.
