Officer was justified. Two reports were released today, one from the district attorney, one from the Milwaukee Police department, plus of course as you just showed us, that dash camera video, the first time that we got to see what transpired between the officer and jay anderson. We will never be able to hear the audio because the dash camera does not record that. The officer says he found him in the park sleeping wn gun on the passenger seat. The officer says he told anderson to keep his hands up. In the video you see andersons hands raised. You can see in the video andersons hands drop once, raise back and get back down again. Thats when the officer opened fire. He shoots six times. Five times in the head, once in the shoulder. Ive watched that video at least 20 times, and i was able forwards, backwards, frame by frame. I could take as much time as i needed. The Police Officer had less than one second to make the decision. A trained Police Officer who reasonably believes there is an imminent threat of death or great bodily harm to themselves or someone else is authorized by law to use deadly force. The medical examiner said anderson was legally drunk and did have marijuana in his system. The officer will be allowed to return to duty. Now with the anderson familys disappointment. Veronica . Reporter the family says they are deeply disappointed and they will continue pushing for justice. Six months since he was shot and killed by a wauwatosa Police Officer, his family gets the news they were dreading. Theres no evidence that mr. Anderson lunged or touched, raised or pointed any alleged handgun that may have been in the vehicle. Reporter his mother says after repeatedly watching the video, she believes the District Attorneys Office should have charged the officer. I think the officer should come clean. I think he knows he killed my my son. My son was not doing anything. He never picked up a weapon. Reporter the mother of jay andersons two children says she is sick to her stomach that she will never have any closure. He didnt do nothing wrong. And he should still be here with us, regardless of whatever. He was in that car asleep by himself. He didnt harm nobody. A milwaukee woman describes a frightening ordeal after she says two men pointed a gun at her and forced her out of her car. Shannon it all happened at 81st and hampton, where tmj4is you spoke with that woman today . Reporter i did, and she says that she wants the two monsters who did this to her behind bars. That was the only thing that i had left, besides pictures and stuff, the car really meant something to me. Its been a long week. Reporter she says not too long ago she was cleaning her car out on the street when two i thought i was going to die that night. I just told god, please just watch over my baby, take carve my daughter. Reporter walking me through what happened, she said she was pulled out of her car and slammed to the ground, which ended up separating her shoulder. Im still kind of like in the twilight zone. Reporter because she didnt have the car for long. It was recently given to her by her grandmother, who just passed away from cancer. It hurt because she really loved that car. And when she signed it, he she said, you tca i was like okay, granny. I never even had the car for 24 hours and somebody came and robbed me. Reporter thats why she needs the publics health. I just want anybody who knows anything about it, just to come forward. Reporter police tell me that the investigation is still ongoing. They are still searching for the two suspects. And they are still looking for her car. From the north side of thank you. State Elections Officials say day five of the recount has almost come to a close with no significant issues. Shannon all counties are scheduled to finish counting about it deadline with six counties already completed. Live from the Milwaukee County recount with an update from there. Reporter here at the Milwaukee County recount office, they focused on wauwatosa, West Milwaukee and South Milwaukee today, and the workers that are still here will stay here until those three municipalities are finished. We also t Waukesha County, where they received a new machine today that is speeding up the process. County officials in waukesha say for the last four days of the recount, they used the standard machines that accept one ballot at a time. Yesterday they requested what they call a more efficient machine that can count up to 5,000 ballots at a time. From what im seeing, the county and their employees are doing a good job, and having this additional equipment that they brought in today will speed up the process. Process, the Waukesha County Clerks Office is still fully staffed and Officials Say there shouldnt be any delay in standard county business. Over in Milwaukee County, the county clerk says some of his staff are now working on the recount, causing minor delays for citizens. Somebody wants to get married this week, well certainly make sure that that happens. Like i said, they might have to wait in line for an extra five minutes or so, but well make sure that all of our services to the public are provided in a timely manner.
