How can we better support survivors . Well, i think first of all, to be able to support them by saying you believe them is so important, victims want to know theres people that really do what theyre experiencing, second is to not judge them. We have to be patient, and we have to be able to understand that its never easy getting out, and its not always safe either. And third is that we need to make let them know there are resources, and services that can support them and help them leave the situation very safe. Reporter its not just about the actual person whos directly affected by the abuse. I mean, the families, children. Can you talk about that, longreaching implications . Absolutely. I mean, you know, any time a person such as a friend, a coworker, a family member, a child, witnesses this, or sees this, or even hear that experience, it really affects them. And often they dont know what to do, often they feel that the victim should leave the situation right away at that moment, and, you know, often we expect them to make decisions right there and then. Is the most dangerous time for a victim. And we need to be able to make sure that every victim is connected to information and resources, and let them know there are options so that their chances of being hurt, or even killed as they leave their relationship, is really minimized, and a tool such as a safety planning guide such as this is so critical and important. Because it helps the victim understand what the steps that they have to take as they decide to leave, temperature numbers th t can they go to safely if they decide to leave. So, its always a process, leaving is always a process, never an event. All right, and these you can get here and at your organization, a variety of organizations, thank you so much for sharing this information with us, this is what today is all about.
