We are super excited to chat with him in a few minutes. He is going to walk this way on over to the yellow couch. Right . I love it. It seems like everywhere i go probably not in the circles you hang with because you hang with younger cooler people who maybe dont have kids my boyfriend has a son. Thats true. It seems like everybody i talk to is just excited for school to start. Moms in particular because and the number one thing is this return to structure and r you know. I dont know i think its hard to get back into structure and routine. Just like, going to you know i went to his sons soccer games this weekend. Just, youre back on their schedule verses them being on some of your schedule. If they are in sports se spor in schedule, thats a busy schedule. Huffington post did an article asking moms what were the back to school. It takes into account moms of kids of all different situations and life situations im not familiar with. For example working from home. One of the moms said im looking forward to be able to truly work from home. I wouldnt think of that. Because you have the time its quiet in the house. That was the number one thing, quiet. Lots of quiet. The last thing was i will beabo. I totally get that. Another one was this cracks me up im happy they will be all be physicalep from me, im holding out hope that absence will help my heart grow fonder. Oh, sad. Another mom said i can fly with the amateurs again because of all of the families in the airports. Another one is the end to painful childcare. Another one is less laundry because kids wear uniforms. Thats another thing i wouldnt think of because my kids go to i asked my boyfriend on the first day of school what is he wearing. Its such a big deal that picture in your outfit in the backpack he was like he has a uniform. I was like you still have to get a picture anyway. One mom with a newborn coming shell be able to nap during the day. Even if you dont have a newborn the ability to have a nap is a big thing. A lot of moms looking forward to the return to routine. Heres somng getting up in the morning, you have to get up. Maybe you are back on schedule. Spotify did research with psychologists and picked the best songs you can wake up to. They say there is a formula. Iit builds slowly and sends a positive message and has a certain beat. A lot of people they ease into it it gets louder, but these are certain songs like cold play. Song. Can you do our theme song that works. . . [ music ] . . It has that crescendo. And another one was lovely day. Lovely day, lovely day, lovely day. . . Yeah makes you want to get out of bed. Yeah. The other one was wake me up by avicci. Clearly it has the absolute lyrics, but it has that message. But the thing is you use it you get sick of hearing it. You ruin a song. I use a tone. [laughter] true. Those are good ones to wake up to. Maybe you can rotate them. There is list of 20 spotify released with psychologists those are just three of them. Did you go to church this weekend . I did not go to church this weekend. Most weekends. A boo from dave. Especially when they get back to school we get back to regular church attendance. I didnt either this weekend. Women are more affected by attending religious services it doesnt matter what they are about. It lowers your riskf death from all causes. They did a 16 year study in a medical Research Journal and basically it says the study linked attending religious services more than once a week with 33 lower risk of death from all causes. Not surprising. So many benefits. The power of community. Prayer. Community is social. Older people i think about a lot of times there is coffee time. Our church has doughnuts. There you go. Thats a big plus. Our soundoff, how do you feel about the kids going back to the classroom. Back to school time. We want to know what you think about it, its the kids going back to school not how do they feel about it. How do you feel about it . Barrier back in the 1980s. Darryl mcdaniels had it all, celebrity status, money and the respect of his peers. Overwhelmed with the success he had at such a young age he sank into a world of depression and alcoholism. Today in his memoir ten ways not to commit suicide. How he turned to rehab, friends and family to embrace the gift of life. Were more than thrilled to welcome him d, darryl. Good morning how yall doing. Glad to i love the yellow couch and i love milwaukee. Yeah you have the happiest face. Everybody always tells me that. Im generally im always happy very very happy yes. For a while was it a disguise . Did you look happy on the outside and not feel happy on the inside . Oh, yes. From early in the 90s, you know run dmc kind of like was pioneers. People was literally bowing to us when we walked in the room. And you know, all of theucss lhe accolades on the inside, i was totally destroyed. Why was that did you feel unworthy of all of that praise or was it that you were just feeling isolated . What happened was when i first got into this business, it was fun because how old were you . I was 18yearsold. So young. So young. J creative artistic expression. I was a little kid. I went to Catholic School my whole life. I was a straight a student. Always on the honor roll, but i was into comic books and always reading comic books. Even in the late 60s early 70s the educators didnt see the power in reading comic books. Remember dont let the kids read comic books its going to ruin student. They have graphic novels. The diary of a wimpy kid and how books have changed. If a kid is reading he is going to be an excellent reader, but they didnt see that. So back then my imagination was power and source of my creativity. Once i got into the business, it was kind of like darryl, makes dmc successful, but in the business they only want dmc. Darryl, we dont need none of that darryl please others to fit in, to you know be the one oh, dmc is so easy to work i wasnt expressing my true feelings. Our lives is about feelings. If we dont feel right your relationship, your jobs occupations i dont care what you are involved in its going to be destroyed and that happened to me. And it took me to go well, then alcohol became the fourth sense things. Growing up it was the flintstones and i dream of genie and comic books and mickey mouse all of that. As adults we tend to forget about those things as we get into our businesses and occupations and families and stuff like that. So alcohol replaced all of the sincere innocent true inspirations that was driving me creatively. The alcohol started with oh, my god i got to go out here and i got to go make this recor this concert. It started with one drink to be able to function then that drink turned into a 5th of jack daniels and jim beam being my best friend. It started with one 40ounce of old english before i went on stage. In the book i talk about i was up of drinks a case of 40 ounces of old english a day. No way. I was so alcoholic i put a freeze in the back of my suv so Grocery Store to get out and get them. What . That continued through the 90s all the way through the 90s. I was diagnosed with acute pancreasitis. I was in the hospital a month and a half. The doctor looked at me and said you have two things you can do in life you can drink and die or not drink and live. Cold turkey i was able to lookat pancreatistis. At 2000 i found out i was adopted at age 35 and didnt know that my whole life. I found out my mother knew, my father, my cousins knew, even the mailman knew. Mr. Hooper knew. When i received that information emotionally i wasnt able to when i stopped drinking it was um, screw drivers and bacardi and coke. When i started drinking again it was just strictly jack daniels and jim beams. I was Walking Around with 5ths and drinking it like you drink a bottle of water. That went on for four years. In 2004 i was in vegas op new years and i drunk a whole 5th of jack daniels and i looked at it and i said i got to stop kill myself. All through the period of the 90s being in the business, i was just allowing myself to please others while it was killing me and it was probably like 93 when i just laid there one day and i said am i here just to be dmc the king of rock. I thought about everything people said to me and they didnt have no significance to me. And i didnt know at the time i was just thinking if im just here to be the dmc to be with running james to be the king of rock i dont want to live anymore. People didnt know in addition to struggling with trying to cope and please others and be successful in this business i hated waking up every day. You thought about suicide on a regular basis right . A whole lot of times i thought about shooting myself. The funny thing is i remember when we went to japan into the Hardware Store. Remember i was talking about a little kid watching the tv shows remember when you were watching the muensters the poison would be a little bottle that would say poison with the x. I went into the Hardware Store in japan because i snuck away from running jay my manager and the translator they give you when you go to japan and i go into the Hardware Store and trying to ask the japanese guy understand him. He wound up chasing me out of there and i walked out of there going i cant even kill myself right. I thought about the gun, i thought about the poison, and then one time, when we was in austria we did a photo shoot and the hotel gave us access to do the photo shoot on the roof. I remember we did the photo shoot and when we went back do our floor i waited until run j and my manager and everybody re stairs on the roof. It was a roof with no guards no guardrails. I always tell the story when i speak at Agency Suicide agencies and even when i speak t kid who is struggle with mental anxiety and suicidal thoughts. I went up to the roof and the only reason i didnt jump this is a true story i said if i jump hurt. That made me say why am i thinking like this. It wasnt until i went to rehab to stop drinking that i discovered something that many do not understand. When you say therapy, men think its weak. Men think it makes you soft. Couple weeks ago i said this and all of the shrinks and psychologists said im going to use that. I discovered therapy is gangster. I love that. Thing that you can do to help you. Therapy is legitimate. Its legit. Its cool. Its necessary. I also said, a lot of men you know take the thing of take the angle of therapy dont help you and therapists dont help you. I go yeah he or she doesnt. They go why do you go . A lot of shrinks and psychologists said im going to do that too. Can tell yourself stuff you should have told yourself a long time ago or you can repeat stuff to yourself. I didnt know in 1985 when the first thing that made me uncomfortable happened, i had the power to stand up and address that person and situation, but instead of not wanting instead want to please people. I want people to think dmc is easy to work with i dont want to be a troublemaker so i held it in. Imagine holding in your true feelings and your opinions from 85 to 2000. Its just building every day. A lot of people dont learn how to express themselves. Because they are afraid. Afraid people wont like them. Exactly. Were almost out of time i think thats an interesting part and want to live. The only thing that you have when you are an alcoholic, suicide, spiritual wreck, the only thing you have is yourself. When you sit and youre all alone or think youre all alone. Im one of a gazillion people that went through alcoholism, Substance Abuse, low selfesteem and suicidal thoughts. When you are sitting there all alone there isnl that you can turn to. I dont care what you call it, god, buddha, the mighty one, the all powerful one, when i was in rehab, i dont go to Alcoholics Anonymous or the 12 step program because when i was in rehab, the alcoholic people would stand up and recite the 12 step mantra of higher power. Help me in times of need if its my higher power its not out there. If its my higher power its mine. If it mine its inside me. Thats the thing that made me say, my manager, my wife, friends and family was telling me d you need to go to rehab i was denying it. It didnt work i want empowered until i said i got to help myself. I love that. Your faith in you is the most precious that you must have. I dont care if you are suicidal, if you have anxiety or have Substance Abuse problems. You shouldnt be afraid to admit how you feel. I dont mean for this to run, if you admit how you feel you will find a way to heal. If you hold it in and be ashamed and if you hold it in, if you hold in your guilt and your shame and your truth, you will never discover the power that is it is you are battling. I love your book and your ten wayways not to commit suicide ia fascinating blueprint. So many people need it whether you are struggling with depression or regular suicidal thoughts, anxiety. You also mentioned the king dmc. Com. Is where you can find out about darryls book. Ten ways not to commit suicide. A wonderful reflection as well as being so honest. Ann heinzel is a busy mom of four and the founder of the blog my milwaukee mommy. Com. Great to see you. Hey. I dont know if you heard us chatting about why moms are excited about going back to school . Im torn. I go back and forth with it. There are days im ready. Im one of those like cryers like hang onto my babies. You know that physical separation makes your heart grow fonder for them. It does i have to keep saying that to myself. I dont know if i believe it lets talk about the chicken kabobs. This is something you think works in anything. Pasta. They are even great by themselves they are so good. I was saying as i was making it last night the kids are coming out of their room mom just let me have the little left over pieces of it. They are so good, so easy, so convenient. I like taking them tailgating. This would be a great snack after school. Anything like that. And t i want to show you. I brought in these are the sweet chili lime. I made them beforehand. But i just want to show you all i did i put them serioly there. In a portable grill. So easy. And it took like five minutes to make them and then do they come raw i didnt look at the front of the package. They come raw yeah. There is four different flavors. They come shrinkpped ty are all flavored there is nothing you need to do besides take them out of the package and grill th. A grill them. Tary yaky i saw lemon chicken, barbecue and the sweet chili. Uhhuh the sweet limehili. Is that your favorite . Yeah i little like that in this dish im making today. So easy. You said just like tiff said they come raw, but you find them in the meat department. And flavored all you have to do is put them on the grill. Basically you are cooki them, but th all you have to do. It smes wonderful. The recipe y are going to do today is the greek pasta chicken dish right . Right. Go ahead and assemble tell us how it is made. Im going to put in a dash of olive oil in here and then going to throw in some red onions. The thing i like about this meal because i think you are going to say you can heat it anytime. And one doing all of those things you can serve them as they get home. Sometimes they are good served cold these kind of pastas. I did put it in the refrigerator my son preferred it hot. Garlic. And then put in some artichoke hearts and the really cool thing about this you can pick and choose, if you dont like them dont put artichoke hearts in them or tomato. Or like i say toy kids you dont prefer it pick it out. I put fetta cheese in there. Tomatoes, chopped up a large tomato. Oregano and basil and lemon juice. So the fetta too you put in while you are cooking . Yeah. Thats interesting. I think of fetta of something that goes on after. You sprinkle on top right . Yeah. That was so easy. Doesnt that look good hold it for a second so we can get a shot. Its so beautiful on a portable grill turn it around look at it outside on the grill too. The first time we made them we made them on the grill outside. My husband actually we put them on the grill first like, plain on the grill then you take them out and wrap them to hold the flavor. Thats going to keep them moist. Put them in reynolds wrap and put them right back on the grill. I mean honestly it was, i cant like stress my kids loved these. They are so good. They are so kid friendly with the little bites on the stick. Right. Time youre going to add your pasta. Add the pasta the pasta is already cooked. Made it according to the directions. And then you just mix all of those ingreents. Thats it. Peoplree a interested i you rying o the different flavors, butlso mbe tnking aboudifferent recipes and ways to mix u chicken which i think is always fun. Up next this doctor will tell us about the technology and safety come on. Dogs just wont it. Neither does new frontline gold. Its triple action formula is relentless at killing fleas and ticks for a full 30 days. Welcome back to the morning morning. The reasons why someone would want Breast Implants vary, but the fact is new technology is now making them safer and more natural looking. Thats right joining us now to talk about the revolutionary technology and the ideal Breast Implant is with quintessa aesthetic center. Thank you for being here. Welcome back. Thank you great to see you. I think this is a great topic of conversation. A lot of people dont talk about it they get uncomfortable. Making sure if you are going to do breast augmentation maybe because you had Breast Cancer or you are uneven or other reasons aestheticly you want to make sure you a doing it safely and getting the bt results. Yes. So for you, lets talk about the differentypes of procedures you perform and why this is one of your specialties. I perform head to toe Plastic Surgery i do everything you can think about, but i mainly concentrate on bodies, breast augmentation, breast lifts, tummy tucks, liposuction, thigh lift, arm lift. I do a lost different things, but i do do a lot of breasts. We were excited to get something new in this area. Lets talk a little bit about because we have photos to demonstrate you will be making about ideal implants and how implants work. What is the point of this . This implant is the ideal implant. Its the newest tool that we have. Its a different type of implant. And the thing that really m it different it has structure. So the diagram is showing you the structure. So it has two different areas that you can fill separately one from the back and one from the front. It has those baffles in the inside. Thats what gives it structure makes it feel more like breast tissue rather than a water balloon. Our previous implants that were filled with saline have no structure to it at all so they feel quite different. Do you feel like this is changing the landscape of doing breast augmentations . I think it gi gives us a gret new option for people who want something that has the feel of real breast tissue quite like our silicone gel implants so it feal but it also has that piece of mind that if it gets a hole in it its going to deflate and you are going to know right away. The silicone gel ones we like because they feel so nice you dont know if it has a hole it therefore the fda has recommended screening with mri every two years in order to see if there is a hole or not. Were showing the idea. The feel of it is supposed to be similar to silicone in that it is malleable and it feels this is the ideal. This is the more traditional silicone right . Right uhhuh. And this, is this more likely to fail . Its not necessarily more likely to fail. They have shown really good lower rupture rates with this one. I wouldnt say this is necessarily more likely to fail. The big thing youre not going to know if it will fail. What is this one . This is our traditional saline implant weve had for a long time. Doesnt feel as much like a breast. This is shaped silicone. They feel like a breast. But itas more of that teardrop. Thats the teardrop or gummy bear shaped implant, but again if that one gets a hole youre not necessarily going to know therefore mris are recommended for that. What is this showing for us . They are showing the shape of and see how it kind of keeps the kind of shape of the breast there and they are showing how it acts kind of more like breast tissue. And kind of acts very similar to the silicone gel implants as well. Uhhuh. Okay. How do you know if someone is right for a Breast Implant. Is there an ideal patient or good candidate for this . I dont think there is an ideal candidate. A lot of have had children and they want to be back how they were before. After Breast Feeding or just having children and being pregnant, your breasts get stretched out they lose volume often and a lot of women just want what they have before. There is a bunch of women that never really had a lot of breast tissue and just want to feel more feminine. There is older women that have a lot of drooping or sagging and will do a little lift will add a little volume to give them nice fullness on the top. Consultations how does the consultation process work . The consultation is very low pressure. Its like an education session. You come in we show you the different types of implants. You feel them. I do measurements of you so i can give you specific recommendations about what we need to do. Do we need to do a lift and implant to give you the look you want. Is an implant by itself going to be okay. We spend a lot of time with you and we tell you what to expect with the surgery and in terms of recovery, we go over costs over everything. We spend quite a bit of time with you so you have all of your questions answer answered. I think its great. To schedule that heres how you do that. You can contact dr. Maida parkins at my q spa. Com. The phone number on the screen 262 3034876. And thats where you can go and have all of your questions answered. See for yourself kind of feel, figure out what is the best can schedule that complimentary consultation. Yeah. Thanks for being here doctor. Thanks for having me. Still ahead giving away tickets to the big gig barbecue. Up next pokemon go is the hottest game of the summer. After the break what Small Businesses can do to benefit from the up and coming . . The ford freedom sales event is on our biggest event of the year just got better . . Suvs. Plus, tagged vehicles now get a thousand smart bonus. Thats freedom from interest. And freedom to choose with ford. Americas best selling brand. . . Now get 0 financing for 72 months across the entire ford lineup, welcome back to the morning morning. You probably heard about the pokemon go craze. I even have heard of it so you have no excuse. Can this game that is the feel good hit of the summer help you grow your business . Thats right it is Small Business monday and marketing expert tim vertz is back to tell us about the craze and how polky stop picachu may be more than a game for some. I think it is important to ed we all have seen it seen people Walking Around on their phones. I even saw it on a church, looking for god and pokemon both are here. I think its like people are using it in ways that do draw in young ever people. Er people. Its the hit of the summer. There is a big business benefit. Businesses are soon going to figure out how to be able to use this. Lets break it down to start. The whole point behind pokemon there this is a new market segment. Your phone knows where you are at all times its a big gps unit. Its taking a game and overlaying it on a map. So what the pokemon go game is doing, is it is figuring out okay, where you are, and the technology is you know looks at parks, it looks at sculptures, landmarks all of those types of things. Thats where it will put these things called poke stops these coins and collect. Its smart business. You can attract more visitors if you can become one of these hot spots. Right now its all by luck. Its still by luck. Its all by luck right now. There are these poke stops. Thats where these kids are going to go and collect them. There is an example out of washington state. Mad hatters ice cream. It was a struggling ice cream store. By chance, there was a poke stop at their front door. Summer because everyon showed up. Who was choosing the random spots . Its the game manufacturing, the game developer has all of this. Has some power man. Exactly. So what can businesses do right now . There is things called lures. So you can buy a lure, and for 30 minutes its a dollar. For example if you are a retail store and you want to attract all of these people over there you can get these lures. Et cits not they are kind of next to it. Thats pretty cheep a dollar. You do it in the app its not that difficult. This ar marketing is something you feel people should be keeping an eye on . The pokemon go game seems like it has peeked. The usage has gone down a little bit from when they released it in early july. Thats because they are going back to school. But you can bet everyone is there is like 25 million users in the u. S. There is going to be a lot more of these games and technology is going to be important from a Business Marketing standpoint. So yeah, pokemon go they are going to figure out how do we do sponsor locations. They are going to monday advertise this for businesses. Businesses will be able to invest and have a good return on investments, but there will be other games and they will be able to capitalize and have sponsored locations. Its going to be a progression. Its something t on. Its one of those things that is a creative way for businesses to get more and move traffic to their retail locations. I think its smart. I think it also is a great way even for just 1 or whatever you do to get one of those lures to start learning about it and what kind of response you get so when you can buy in on bigger rates you are seeing this is going to be a huge thing for my business. I love you help people to be on top of the trends so you can be educated and learn about it even if you didnt know and you dont ahead of the curve so you are jumping in when you you can. 262 9104125 for vertz marketing. Vertz marketing. Com is the website for more. Of all of the guests i would think that would talk about pokemon go i wouldnt have picked you tim. Good job tieing it in with business.
