First a man was shot in the chest in the parking lot at the pondo cafe and lounge on jefferson avenue early saturday morning. He was rushed to the hospital. Then a little after noon officers were called to 25th street where they say a 19 yearold was shot in the leg twice. The Victim Told Police it was random. The third shooting happened around eleven that night. We re told 18yearold Horton Hunter was shot in the leg on jefferson avenue near dresden drive. Hospital, released shortly after then arrested. According to Police Hunter had two outstanding warrants. If you know anything about any of these shootings take action and call the crime line. Portsmouth Police Say Two young boys were accidentally shot at two different locations. The first happened just after 1030 yesterday morning on lancer drive. Police say a 7 yearold shot himself in the hand as he was playing with an unsecured gun inside his home. Officials say he s expected to be okay. Shortly after a 9yearold was shot in the leg by another boy. Officials say the boy was playing with a gun he found outside near moregate lane in the churchland section of the city. The boy was taken to the hospital and will also be okay. Officials are still investigating and say charges are pending in both cases.
