This evening only newschannel 3 was there when a house believed to be related to the murder of two men and shooting between police and a potential suspect was searched. However police are still not releasing many details about today s shootings. Here is what we know. In this footage you will only see on newschannel 3 you can see a team of Newport News Police officers searching a home on 14th street. The house is down the street from where two men were found dead in a silver mini van this morning. Tonight a newport news spokesperson said a search warrant was served at the house and believes the search is related to the murder of two men. Police searched the home and the car in the driveway for more than a hour. When they finally left they had multiple we tried talking to the people who live at the home nat knocking but they did not open the door. According to Newport News Police they were called the intersection of 14th street and wickham avenue for a car accident. They say this silver van crashed into a parked pickup truck. The crash was then classified as a shooting. When Police Arrived they found the two men dead in the car. 54;07 one was slumped on the back and one was slumped in the passenger seat so the person who was driving was gone and the person behind him gone witnesses told police that two men fled from the scene of the shooting. Police caught up with someone who fit the suspect s description on roanoke avenue. There an officer and a sgt shot the man in the stomach, who police say was armed. His injuries are non life threatening. The two officers were not injured. Quote 2 52 the bullet has no name on it so it does make sad starting off the year like this with 4 individuals. At least 2 are dead, one in the Newport News Police have not released the identity of the the two men killed this morning. They also do not have much of a description for the suspect on the loose but they are still working to find out who he is. New details a man found dead in a mobile home on erin lane in newport news was murdered. Tonight police say the victim is a 59year old newport news man. Friends found him dead in his mobile home earlier today. Police say he had signs of trauma to his body. They have not yet released his name and there is no word on a suspect or a motive.
