I mean, literally not moving inches for 30 and 40 minutes, caused me to be late for work. Reporter before ncdot took action on the slick spots, some drivers couldnt avade. Avoid. Just inconvenient. Reporter crews found a water line had burst and was seeping onto the road. But that was only a temporary fix. The water is continuing to seep in. So the work that we did is not correcting the problem. Reporter its now up to charlotte water to fix it. And repairs may not be finished until sometime tomorrow. Utility officials arent able to say what the cause is because there are several possibilities, including cold weather and aging lines and pipes. Thats why can be no surprise to getting reports of water main breaks. Like this one on tuck segee road. These problems tend to pop up during cold snaps. And they take time to fix. So for now, drivers should be aware if they see water on roads. Roads are going to be very cold. It could cause a very big issue for travelers. And as we mentioned, this road may not get any work on it until tomorrow. We noticed that crews packed it up about two hours ago. Assuming that theyll be back out tomorrow to fix this in time for the afternoon commute. But as far as your commute in like this lane is going to be blocked. But there are many who say it will never really happen as long as charlottes main homeless shelter is right here. North trion has been the place charlottes homeless have gone for help and housing for more than 20 years now. But with the light rail coming soon, businesses say the mens shelter and urban ministries are Holding Back Development here. Its a burden on us. Its a burden on the businesses. It is not going to move out and leave the rest of the community that will austin, a member of the shelters board told the group, theyre planning to renovate the facility and have no plans to leave right now. Hindrance to growth. You can see its directly on a bus line. A wooded lot on freedom drive, near i85, that could homeless. Right next to the county services building. Move. Dale mullenex, told us they like where they are. And besides, moving could cost time and millions of dollars. Why not take those dollars and house all of those people with it. He was the boyfriend of the babys mother. Today, the mother, Jessica Waller said that jason never called or texted her about her daughters health, despite finding marcos her body when she got home marks on her body being when she got home from work. I noticed immediately there was like a burn on the bottom of her foot. Then i noticed there was like a long burn on the back of her leg. And one near her bottom. She was freezing cold. Several cars parked outside the fire station on florida avenue were broken into overnight. And tonight, people are asking why anyone would do this. And Eyewitness News anchor john paul learned, the city is trying to make sure it doesnt happen again. Kannapolis police are used to getting calls about car breakins, but not at a fire station. Generally, they wouldnt be targeted. But unfortunately, they were. Targeted in their ob parking lot. Three or four cars broken into. The windows smashed. We came out to the fire station here. Take a look. Sitting in the parking lot. When we were talking to police, they told us this could have all happened while crews were out responding to a call. Broken window out of the vehicles. They were gone on a medical call, at a time we believe this occurred. And that is not sitting well with people in kannapolis. This was gail starns report when we told her. But they arent saying much. A total of four families have sued calvary church, claiming their children were dismissed from the organizations school, for having disabilities and medical issues. Calvarys Attorney Says the church hasnt had time to read the amended lawsuit. So it cant comment on it. The attorney did say the church does not agree with the original claims and plans to vigorously defend itself. Today, Waxhaw Police are in a case with a roofer.
