We have an update tonight on the death of a man hit by a train in gretna this morning. The Pittsylvania CountySheriffs Office has now identified that man as 69yearold walter davis. Sheriff mike taylor tells me the call came in around 9 30 this morning. When investigators got to the scene, they found davis dead at the train tracks across the Movie Theater on main street. They said that daviss death appears to be accidentally. A teenager is dead following a headon collision last night in roanoke. Around 9 00 p. M. , police were called to the 2200 block of 18yearold Kayla Simmons was driving westbound on hardy road and crossed the central line. She was taken to the hospital and later died of her injuries. Christopher markus hash was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
