The initial 1. 4 billion price tag to begin building the president s proposed border wall was a Sticking Point in avoiding a government shut down that still could happen this saturday. The president s 100th day in office. President trump has been looking to get a big win ahead of that milestone. Hes now backing away from a possible budget standoff. Just days after demanding money to build the border wall be included in a spending bill the Congress Must spin this week to avoid the Government Shutdown, hes now saying hes open to delaying funding for wall construction until this fall ns the white house optimistic shutdown will be averted. They feel confident that wont happen. Reporter President Trump, the headliner a brand new tax reform plan to be unveiled tomorrow. The president promising a massive tax cut and trying to deliver on another Campaign Pledge slashing the Corporate Tax rate from 35 to 15 . Critics warning that would balloon the deficit. But the secretary insists it adds up. It will pay for itself with economic growth. Reporter and a renewed plan to repeal and replace obama care. A top aide insisting republicans are getting close. Meanwhile after a storm of criticism, the state department removed a blog post promoting maralago describing it as the winter white house. The threeweek old post raising new questions about ethics and nancy pelosi tweeting why is Donald Trumps state department promoting the president s private club. Late monday the state department replacing the original post saying it was the inform the president where the president has been hosting World Leaders and it regrets any misperception. Reporter eastern ven as the president has called 100 days a ridiculous standard. Overnight the white house launched a new website focussed on trying to highlight the accomplishments. What it describes as bold action during President Trumps first 100 days. Peter, thank you. Lets talk more about President Trump and those first 100 days and how they stack up against prior administrations. We will break things down. Candidate trump made a lot of promises during the election season and then President Trump added to those promises after he took office. What numbers have you come up with . Every president ial pledge made, found 35 pledges and out of those in 18 cases no effort to make any sort of public follow through. On 17 we found some action. Executive orders, heres where hes been very busy. A couple that come to mind, the life thytime ban on regulation to be followed by two existing regulations going away. Talk to me about his actions there. Thats right. If there is a bright spot for donald trump on the 100 days, this is it. 25 executive orders. Many the people remember. The two travel bans. The regulations you mentioned. Others on reorganizing government. This is far more than obama and his predecessor. This is an area where he used the power of the out of washington yar, get out the travel. Lets talk about travel. He has been on the road, ten states, similar to obama using state obama to push initiatives. Heres the contrast. At this point when you look at trips abroad, all around the world, donald trump has not left the country in the first 10 d0 days. Obama had been to nine. People talk about america first, this might be one sign of it. All right. Thank you. Lets go to savannah. Well talk about more of this with Nicole Wallace and josh earnest. I guarantee that when i was covering the white house and you were there, if i mentioned 100 days, youd say thats a media construct. It doesnt matter. Which President Trump has more political tall capital to try t things done. It does not appear that he has used this period at the height of his political power to get that much accomplished. We talk about the 100 days and the president knocked it down saying its artificial. Do we want as citizens of this country administrations rushing through crucial legislation just to hit some mark on a calendar . Well, we dont want it for that reason, but we need signs of life and a sign of a competent governing capacity. So far they havent displayed that. They tried to enact the muslim ban. It was tied up in court. They tried to repeal health care. That was a big whiff as well. We dont need it for sort of an artificial that trump touted. But the challenge is with the exception of a very big accomplishment which is the appointment of gorsuch, they dont have a lot to show for their 100 day efforts. On one hand the president is saying this is a ridiculous standard. On the other hand, he seems to be working overtime to try to notch victories before friday, including the border wall funding. He said we have to get it into this budget deal. And now he had to back down. Yeah. It is extraordinarily shortsighted. Anybody who paid any attention to congress over the last decade recognized in order to pass budget bills, you need democrats. Democrats were not going to include funding for a budget wall. Its not surprising he climbed down from the proposal. If anything the fact that he did so on a monday night as opposed to waiting until the deadline on friday is an be learning something. 96 of the people part of President Trumps base are sticking with him in a poll. How does the base feel about backing down from the border wall. They want mexico to pay for it, not the u. S. Government. How will they feel about that . His base is a personal obsession. They think they all have my cell phone. I was in michigan and pennsylvania talking to him. Theyre going to give him time. They still believe in the muslim ban as a strategy to protect the homeland. You talk about artificial deadlines. To them 100 days is not a fair amount of time and theyll give him time. I think we see failed efforts. They see flexibility when it comes to agreeing to not fund the wall. He got a Supreme Court nominee through, and a lot of people have given him points for Foreign Policy issues. Doing something decisive in syria. Perhaps getting china to bere cooperative. Its unwise to gauge Foreign Policy success on a 100window. Hes trying to turn it into a constructive governing agenda. Its not been smooth sailing. In the meantime President Trumps daughter is making her debut on the world stage this morning. Ivanka is speaking at a forum in berlin, germany. Her First International trip as an unpaid adviser to her father. Hallie jackson made the trip as well. And hallie, i think the purpose of the trip is stated as discussing job training. Is there an agenda on the part of Angela Merkel who made the invitation . Reporter that seems to be a part of the political calculation here on behalf of chancellor merkel who invited vung trump to themm the Economic Empowerment of women after the two of them were seated side by side when merkel visited washington last month. He appears to be working on capitalizing ivanka trumps signature issue, women in the work force. Ivanka trump is just out with an op ed in the Financial Times talking about this issue. A reminder that these Security Officers were not police officers. They were wearing jackets that said police. One incident report we obtained threw a freedom of information act says dr. Dao struck his face on an armrest. Another said dao had become violent. This morning we obtained Surveillance Video from the United Airlines gate in chicago that appears to show dr. David dao boarding his flight to louisville. And the radio call sending Security Officers to dr. Daos plane when he refused to give up his seat. Were they drinking . No. Its something with this a volunteer or Something Like that. This is a departing flight . Yeah. Reporter minutes later the camera appears to show dr. Daos running back on. Soon after an ambulance arrives. Passengers get off. Then back on. On board daos attorney saying he suffered a concussion, broken nose, two broken teeth and sinus injuries when Security Officers pulled him from his seat. Oh, my god. Reporter three officers involved filed incident reports with the Chicago Department of aviation involuntarily writing they were, quote, under dresz because they feared losing their jobs if they didnt. They were later put on leave. The Security Officer who grabbed the man reported that dr. Dao refused to leave and folded his arms tightly. Dr. Daos turn culls it nonsense. In any way was dr. Dao a threat . No. Hes a pushy kid. And theres video shng there was nothing he did that caused that should have caused United Airlines to bring in the storm troopers that came in. I am not going. Reporter in fact, video reviewed shows dr. Dao adamant that he would not give up his seat because he had patients to see the next morning but he was not violent. Reporter also we learned of a fourth Security Officer who responded, a sergeant. He was put on administrative leave ten days after the incident. The new documents reveal that officer long was suspended weeks earlier for a separate incidence of inentoorduation. United airlines apologized. This morning saying our focus is reviewing our policies and making this right for our customers so Something Like this doesnt happen again. Whats appropriate compensation for dr. Dao . I dont know. Its too early to tell. Are we talking tens of millions of dollars . I dont the Attorney Says dr. Dao is still recovering from his physical and emotional injuries, and he has not been able to return to work in kentucky. We reached out to the four officers involved through the Chicago Department of aviation which declined to comment. But on monday one of his accusers former fox news host filed a new lawsuit against him and the network alleging Senior Executives sub jjected her to illegal computer hacking and electronic surveillance. To intimidate, and crush her career. The information was that false information was fed personal information to troll her online. Her lawyers argue these twitter messages were an effort to emotionally devastate her and make her concerned about her physical safety. Fox news it will e tells nbc they deny her allegations saying this lawsuit is a flimsy pretext to keep her and her Sexual Harassment claims in the public eye. And as the battle plays out in the court of public opinion, oreilly is telling fans on the podcast that theres more to his story and to stay tuned. This morning were pulling out the test kits to check it out for ourselves. The its almost pool time. Fun for kids. And adults too. But do you know whats really lurking underneath . Researchers in canada testing 31 pools and hot the tubs. The results . Urine in every single one. On average 8 gallons in a the typical size pool. Before you go judging, check out Michael Phelps talking to the media. I think everybody pees in the pool. You may want to avoid swimming with olympians, but what about the pool on your next vacation . To find out, i go undercover and reporter whats in this water . Pools. Hitting the pool. And hot tubs. If people follow your routine and program, whats their expectations in terms of when theyll start to see the weight come off . Youll start to see results almost immediately, but the amount of weight will vary from person to person. You can lose four or five pounds the first week. Thats some water weight. After that its going to level off one to two pounds per week. Doctor, i went out of my way to say routine. You think thats a keyword for people trying to follow this . Its essential. Otherwise your mind will go to dark places for food. You want to automate. You dont have to make decisions anyway. Why reinvent breakfast. Eat the same one every day. Automate lunch. You can make decisions later. The reason people fall prey is witching hour, they reason out of energy to make decisions. You have to get your mind ready to get healthy. That starts with things like smaller plates and sitting down at a table in front of us to eat with your friends. Also it gives you body a chance to tell yourself when youre hungry. Most people eat when theyre in b withdrawal. People who live a long time are generally thin, and they always finish their meal before theyre full. The last point of making sure youll able to be accountable. Tell a friend youre involved and make sure you power down before meals. Yesterday we covered breakfast. Today were covering include the three ps. First, protein. You want to have ample protein at your meals. That studies your blood sugar and it gives you staying power. The second p is produce. Im telling people to include at least two cups of vegetables with every lunch option. And the third like dr. Oz said, power down. Shut off the computer, the tv, and be present during lunch. Sit down, slow down. Its good for digestion and mindfulness. Theres a lot of options. More online. Yesterday i was craving the banana sushi rolls all day. Before lunch, have 16 ounces of water. Im calling this a drop ten salads. Loads of vegetables, half a cup of beans and limited or vinegar. This is a great option. This is a sandwich. Everybody loves sandwiches. I wanted to include it. Wheres the top . Heres the swap you can im putting a slice of cheese on top. This is turkey and cheese. If you want the second half of the bread, the top of the sandwich, lose the cheese and put the second half of the bread on top. Notice, two cups of vegetables with it. This is my version of Chicken Salad. Its a curried Chicken Salad with green peas. Light mayo. This is your default at a restaurant. Five ounces of any protein and look at that, half the plate lots of vegetables. And the good news is you can snack on this routine. One to two snacks every day. You never want to be hungry. The idea, you lose the ten pounds, for the first eight weeks and for the rest of your life, as much as you want. Add joys unbelievable yoga i was a student. He was the instructor.
