The suspect in a dark colored older model dodge charger, according to park police, rammed that vehicle into the officers cruiser. The officer discharged their weapon, but its unclear if the suspect was hit by this. We can tell you that this suspect fled the scene. The officer, we understand, was injured. What youre seeing in that area, fought really any road or street some activity there. There are investigators on the scene. Those are the voices of hundreds of people protesting the Trump Administrations reversal of rest room protections for transgender students. The Justice Department and department of education wrote a letter withdrawing the Obama Administrations policy. It called on all Public Schools to let children use bathrooms that match their gender identity. So protesters took to the streets last night to shout their disapproval about that reversal. The Obama Administration guidance was issued as an interpretation of title 9, which baens sex discrimination in education. This new guidance essentially knocked down that the white house says it gives states the ability to make decisions on the issue. A shooting and a suspect holed up inside a garage in frederick, maryland. Police initially got the call last night about 10 00. Reports of shots fired in the area. They think this all started inside the apartment, wound up escalating outside. The man that you see on your screen, richard harriday, the suspect in this now homicide investigation. Police believe that one person was shot and killed fled from that scene and barricaded himself inside a nearby garage. After speaking with him for a couple of hours, police were able to get him out of there, take him into custody. Among the charges, first and Second Degree murder.
