This all happened at an apartment complex on Spring Hill Court in greenbelt last night. Thats where derrick ward is with more on what led up to the shooting. Reporter well, officers are trying to figure all that out now. But it all started with a call for someone with a gun here in the 6200 block of Spring Hill Court. Take a look, you can see the balcony there in the distance, this is where were told the gunman was when police gold here. This all started about 10 35 last night, started out with Greenbelt Police, but Prince Georges County s. W. A. T. Teams and tactical officers also responded. When Greenbelt Police officers got here, they were met with gunfire. We hear more about what transpired from george matthews. The officers did get on the scene and the individual had worked his way up into the apartment on the third floor and was still firing and did fire, the officer ds did respond. Reporter the suspect was struck and killed. S. W. A. T. Teams got up to the apartment and found out that he was indeed dead. They havent released his name yet pending notification of next of kin. And they say its fortunate that no one else was injured because if you look, there are buildings on either side here of this little courtyard when this all one was hit by random gunfire pip i. Her car was located saturday at the entrance to the White Oak Canyon trail at the park. At this point Virginia State police say that they dont suspect foul play. Memorial Services Begin today a for fallen prince paramedic john ulmschneider. He was shot and killed responding to a call on friday. Today visitation is from 5 00 p. M. To 8 00 p. M. At st. Johns parish in hollywood, maryland. The funeral mass will be held tomorrow at the same parish at 1 00. A private family burial will follow. Ulmschneider is survived by his wife and 2yearold daughter. Today the man police say shot ulmschneider and another firefighter could appear before a grand jury.
