Temperatures only in the upper 20s and low 30s. Pretty much area wide. The only place that has escaped has been far southern maryland. Calvert and st. Marys county have had almost nothing in the way of accumulating snow. All the accumulating snow, ive had reports now 5 inches up in Loudoun County. If you have a snow picture send it to me on my twitter handle. Find us on facebook as well. Well be sharing those pictures over the course of the morning. The d. C. Metro has been lowered down to a Winter Weather advisory. Temperatures arent going to budge a whole lot. Mid to upper 30s today. Whats a rain, sleet, snow combination now will be mostly light snow by later this afternoon. Snow flurries and snow showers likely through much of the day and turning ferociously windy late this morning and the winds will stay up all day tomorrow as well. Through most of our wednesday as well. Not much in the way of accumulations past noontime today. Good morning. Were watching the radar closely because we are watching that rain and snow line across the area. Thats one thing that were really looking at and thats going to really add to the refreezing as we go into tomorrow morning. So here is a look at the radar currently around the district. You start to notice these pink and purple shades and that would be the icy mix weve been talking about down to the south and east, that would be snow, the icy mix and the wintry mix just meandering around the district, around i95, bethesda up towards gaithersburg. 95 near laurel. Also 270 seeing messy conditions this morning. Snow, mostly to the north and west and especially off to the west. Thats where we expect to see mainly snow this morning, but now if we look a little farther, Charles County starting to get more of a mix and it may be a little bit of light snow trying to fall even down 95. So this has beefl the temperatures right around freezing so that would be supporting at least icy roads or icy conditions. Ere is a look at the big picture. We have a lot of moisture moving in from the south. Heavy rain but as we move in, were still seeing that icy mix across the area. So this is a big winter storm. Well keep watching it for you through the rest of the morning but lets look at the roads. A new crash out there . New problem and this is a great reminder. A pickup truck in the express lanes northbound there. Theyve spun out and hit the median there this morning. Southbound in the main lanes and inbound on those express lanes. 270 South Montrose road another new problem. This is how it came in just a short time ago. I can tell you it was slippery. When you first start driving if you have to today, hit those brakes and really see what youre dealing with. I definitely was feeling those anti lock brakes kicking in. Adam is driving around showing us whats inner loop near New Hampshire avenue. A couple of earlier issues on the top of the beltway that has since cleared. Ill show you a big map coming up. Metro is open this morning. Trains just began within the last few minutes. Theyre running on a saturday schedule today. That means theyre arriving every 12 minutes so allow yourself some extra time. Safe track single tracking on the blue and yellow lines remain in effect. The safe track shuttle buses between franconia, pentagon and springfield are not in operation. If you take metro Access Service is cancelled all day today. Metro bus operating on a Severe Snow Service plan. They will only operate on selected routes along major roads. And weve learned that d. C. Public schools are on a twohour delay. All the School Closings and delays are running at the bottom of your screen. You can find them on the nbc washington app as well. We continue our team of reporters spread throughout the area. Justin finch and derrick word are checking out the conditions in virginia and maryland. Lets first check in with adam whos on the beltway in the storm team 4 x 4. Youre in maryland now, adam . Yeah, topside of the beltway approaching 95 here. As we take a look at the live conditions it is a sloppy, nasty mess out here this morning. Were dealing with all types of conditions. Basically snow, sleet, freezing rain, lots of precipitation and the conditions are just real nasty out here this morning. You can see the tracks in the road here on the beltway and it really changes from area to area wherever you go. One thing thats been consistent is its all very wet and its not a fun drive at all. But the heaviest stuff that we saw sticking was in Montgomery County around bethesda. Up here starting to pick up a little bit with more just kind of a rain mix, but theres a lot of slop on the roads. Have here from the drivers side or the passengers side of the storm team 4 x 4. You can see whats been pushed over to the side and in some cases its actually harder to deal with this stuff out here because you cant just push it all out of the way. It ends upcoming back on to the road because its falling and getting crusted into place. So changeable conditions all over the area today. Were driving the entire beltway. Well check back in with you guys in a bit. All right. Thank you. And we also want to take a look in the district of leesburg, virginia. The northwest of the district in leesburg, virginia. Justin finch is there. Justin . Reporter good morning. Still getting that sideways sleet. Were showing you what were seeing. Thats my foot going into more than an inch or so it seems of this sleety snow going on here. Also too its coating your icicles gathering on the grill there, kind of tough to knock out. Its also on the hood too. Lots of ice there. So be sure to clear off your hood of this ice that is collecting on your vehicle as well. I want to take you to some video of plows we saw you out here on Market Street working hard in these areas to clear this stuff off the roadways to get services where they need to be. We can tell you that we are told these are very challenging conditions for a plow truck operators because the conditions are just consistently snowy and icy. Packing on to the streets here and as the cars go by they just grind it right back into the pavement here. Also people who are out who enjoy these conditions. Some wishing and hoping that we get more snow. Take a listen. I like seeing it because theres a lot of enjoyment with 16 inches. Right now i can probably slide down on my shoes but i need sled reporter and you are looking live at Market Street. When we saw you guys a half hour or so ago, most of this was clear and as you can see its getting white again and those plow trucks will be back out here to clear this off. We are live in leesburg. Back in to you in the studio. Thank you. And we want to continue our Team Coverage now with news4s derrick ward in germantown. It was windy out there earlier. Looks like its still kind of rough. Reporter yeah, its even more so now. Were starting to see some gusts and what were also starting to see are some ride on buses so that means people are starting to stir as well as transportation, but take a look. If youre coming out to build a snowman youre not going to have too much luck. Its mostly icy. Its not sticking together too well. Maybe you can get a sense of how windy it is. Take a look now. You see the traffic is moving well along germantown road, at speed almost which isnt here because one thing weve noticed is that when the plows come especially at an intersection theyll leave that little wall of snow at either end of the plow blade and as it gets warmer or as it gets colder and that hardens youre going to pop over that. Weve seen a couple cars bust through that and it might not be too hard to lose control or at least for a second. And you dont want to do that under these conditions. But if you take a look now, you can see theres a car that just happened to stop here. We got some plows that are coming. They are regularly taking care of this road, but their work is cut out for them because as soon as they come by theres another batch of ice and this freezing rain that comes down and coats it again. But youve got to hand it to them. They are doing their best here and without a lot of traffic, that makes their job a lot easier. Were live in germantown, back to you. Thank you. And were working for you all morning to get you through the messy weather out there. Well be live on the air until noon today. And youan washington app to make sure youre getting the latest updates sent right to your phone. The app is a great way to go. Nbc washington. Com also all of our information and School Closings there as well as going across the bottom of your screen. The main area of low pressure is off the coast of norfolk, virginia. It will go off the Eastern Shore in just a bit. A huge amount of warm air right along the beaches there but as soon as you get farther up north and west its all snow across Northern Maryland and the high spots here. This will all go over back to snow by later on this afternoon. How much and how long, all of this nasty weather is going to stick around, thats going to come up in just a few minutes. Stay with us. You can put your eyes on what were seeing here in d. C. This is our front yard. You can see snow on the grass, the parking lot, pavement is wet with rain and sleet and all that stuff thats coming down. Well check back in on the latest that you need to know about getting around the area in jua prodders, shuckersers, and sniffers, [ inhales ] all giant produce is triple checked. Farm, crate, and store. Were focusing on fresh. So you dont have to guess. My giant. Welcome back at 5 13. Youre looking at live pictures from leesburg, virginia. Justin finch has been filling in on the snowy roads there. Tre ground. Justin standing by to go live in a moment. Right now we want to turn to Sheena Parveen and get the latest on this system as its still moving through our region. It is a mess of a system. When you look at the radar you see all these different colors and unless you know what the colors mean it just looks like a mess basically and it kind of is out there. It is cold, icy, rainy, snowy and it depends where you live. Well zoom in now to the district where you see all this pink. That is a wintry mix where you see that purple shading thats more of an icy mix. Everything from sleet to freezing rain to snow. Snow developing closer to frederick where we have some totals now. Lets get a closer look at the roadways. Several crashes right now. One brand new here this morning so take a look here. Outer loop there just before bw parkway. Have a brand new crash it sounds like the vehicle is actually off of the roadway and again, as sheena just mentioned, this pink area youre seeing an icy mix and the white, that is so that just shows you the roads are going to be slick here this morning. 395 northbound here, the express lanes at shirlington circle has a truck here kind of spun out to the side so a little bit slow in those express lanes. Shows you how slick things are and 270 southbound at montrose, have this crash here in the main lanes. It looks like 270 is clear. It is not. Yes, they treat it. Yes, they have taken plows to it this morning. I saw a couple of them this morning myself. Still very slippery. It is 5 15. The Justice Department has asked lawmakers for more time to provide evidence backing up president trumps unproven claim that former president Obama Wiretapped hiss phones at trump tower. He has till march 20th to comply. Thats the same day theyll hold an open hearing into russias interference in the election. The former mayor of fairfax city is back in jail. He will be sentenced in june. The man who led police on a high speed chase has been sentenced to ten years in jail. Check out this nbc washington app for new video of Police QuestioningBrandon Malone after that chase last month. Police say he was high on pcp at the time. And checking back in on our School Closings right now, almost all major School Districts are closed today. Three districts are opening two hours late including d. C. Public schools, Calvert County schools and in West Virginia, grant county schools. St. Marys county schools Just Announced theyre opening on time today. Also the federal government is on a threehour delay with the option for unscheduled leave or telework. You can get a look at all the closings at the bottom of your screen. Our coverage is spread up and down the east coast this morning. Joining us from our atlanta city where it looks like its raining. Matt . Reporter yeah, it is raining here. Good morning. We also have some gusting winds here as well. Not much in the way of snow like my colleagues are seeing elsewhere throughout the area and you might be seeing that down there as well. Right here it is windy and rainy, a messy morning here and we can see the effect os f that wind here at this mini golf course. No one is out and about here on the atlanta city boardwalk. It is a ghost town as you might imagine. The roads are not looking too bad and you can see here on the boardwalk, because it is too warm for this rain to freeze on contact, were not dealing with any icing issues. So that is the good news. Were waiting for high tide and that could cause some more concerns later on this morning. Back to you. All right. Live in Atlantic City for us. Thank you. Well turn back to chuck we are getting a lot of what you said we were going to get. Yep. We would have got a lot more measurable stuff if it hadnt switched over to sleet. Thats the its really cut back on the amounts of stuff that were going to get. Sleep, if you were to turn it back into a dry snow it would fluff up to about 3 to 4 to 1. So it could have easily been 5, 6 inches of snow. Unfortunately, wish, would have, could have, should have and might have. Outside this morning it is just an ugly mess of a combination of nearly everything that Mother Nature can throw at you. What a mess today. Icy roads, major delays and the winds are really starting to increase now. The storm is off the coast of Virginia Beach and as it comes up the coast it is going to intensify. That means the winds are going to stay strong all afternoon, tonight and through tomorrow as well. So your outdoor planner, just an icy mess this morning. If you can delay travel until corridor until after tomorrow as well. Thats the best idea. Windy tonight and temperatures well below freezing so everything thats wet will be refreezing by early tomorrow morning so a very icy and dicey situation for us. Again, theres the main area of low pressure now coming up the east coast, just now moving away from the Virginia Beach area. As it goes off the Delaware Coast its all rain at the beaches. This is going to be a ferocious storm at the beach line. Waves up to 20 feet high just offshore. For us its all snow in the Shenandoah Valley. All snow in West Virginia. The combination starts to take place from gaithersburg south down into southern maryland. This is all rain now across calvert and st. Marys county but you can see the combination of rain, sleet and snow now across most of the capitol beltway. The red here is the combination of sleet all the blue here, thats all in the form of snow and it keeps that little sliver of a combination right on the i95 corridor here during the Morning Hours as the storm pulls tafartr away it will drain more cold air in. So we should go back over to light snow and snow showers during the afternoon hours. Not looking for a lot of accumulation. The real issue will be the refreeze tonight into tomorrow morning so expect more delays and closures for School Districts on your wednesday morning as well. We stay awfully cold here for the remainder of the week moderating by friday and another chance for rain with 50s on saturday. Well show you the storm team 4 radar again here in just a second. For now lets go to melissa. A new problem here, southbound bw parkway at 32. Sounds like we have a tree or part of a tree blocking some lanes there. Tree down in the roadway. So a warning for you there. Have not started to see the slowdowns but no doubt they are going to kick in here in the next couple of minutes. Looking at the beltway outer loop before bw parkway, have a crash with one vehicle off of the roadway. This looks like all of these colors when were talking about the colors just a reminder that pink is showing you an icy mix falling and the white is showing you the snow. I mention this to show you whats overlaid here on all of the roadways so see what youre dealing with this morning. It is slick in a lot of different spots. Tree blocking part of the right side of the roadway. Thank you. From the studio, look, thats a live look inside of our studios to outside. Weve been working for you all night to get you through the storm. You can follow at nbc washington and send us your photos using the nbc 4tv. Our crews are seeing rain right now. Well be right back with the latest on the conditions where you are. All right. Take a look at these pictures. A lot of you are up early trying to see how the weather is impacting you. Were seeing a lot of slush and messy roads throughout the region right now. Other people are getting a good coating of snow at this hour. A big concern is always the Road Conditions out there. Plows have been out all morning to make sure the roads are as safe as possible. We want to see more of your pictures and video. Send them to us, use the hash tag nbc 4dc. Our crews are spread out this morning. The snow lining the streets of leesburg. You can hear some of the nastiness coming down there too. And right out side of our windows, another check of the forecast at 5 30. We have plows working around here too. Are you stuck at home because of the snow . Crazy, right . Join us tomorrow morng on news in4 right now at 5 29, weather alert day. Take a live look right now. This is ice on the grill of our news4 live truck. Look at that. Some of you depending on where you live are seeing snow. Whats outside your door depends on where you are. And this storm is making its way through our area. The latest on your forecast and the closures this storm is causing. First good morning, everybody. Im aaron gilchrist. And im eun yang. We are talking about School Closings with all snow all around the region. You can see the area st. Marys county schools says that it is opening on time today. Thats one county in green. Everything in red here you see on the map, most of our area, closed. Three School Districts are opening late today weve learned. D. C. Schools, Calvert County schools and in West Virginia, t two hour delay today. We have not heard from west more land county or Mineral County schools. We do want to go to molette green at the live desk. Federal workers have been waiting on this information. You can take your time this morning. You have a three hour delay. They made the call right at 4 00 a. M. And we told you about it second later. You do have the option of unscheduled leave or telework which helps with so much uncertainty with the rain snow line and the accumulations. Now back to you. More Team Coverage to get to. Our crews are spread across the area this morning. We begin with Melissa Mollet with your traffic and chuck bell and Sheena Parveen, looking at the forecast. Still crunching the numbers and tracking the radar. Weve lowered our snow totals just a little bit for the immediate area. Still Northern Maryland, Shenandoah Valley and most of the areas north and west of town, but in city, depending on how much sleet snow, slushy youll end up with it will be one and four across the immediate neighborhood. Look at these hourly temperatures. Hardly going to budge at all during the day. Winds are really going to increase as well starting later on this morning. Heres your future wind gusts. By 10 00 this morning 25 to 35mileperhour gusts. The closer you get to the bay and the Eastern Shore, the stronger the winds will be. By 6 00 tonight, still gusting 20 to 30 Miles Per Hour. 11 00 tonight, the real impressive thing with this storm is that the winds are going to stay up all overnight tonight and through the day tomorrow. Winds could gust over 40 Miles Per Hour all through tomorrow as well and that follows a refreeze early tomorrow morning which will make tomorrow morning just about as dangerous as this morning. For more on storm team 4 radar and the impacts, heres sheena. Good morning. We have a lot going on on the radar right now. Here is a close look. We have an icy mix through most of the area. We have very h moving in now to parts of Calvert County on the way to Charles County. Well be watching that closely because as that heavy precipitation runs into cold air we could start to see some heavy sleet or icy mix forming so ill show you that in a second. Closer up to the district and areas to the north like laurel, gaithersburg, this is all kind of wintry mix. An icy mix back towards annapolis. Then we have the snow back toward frederick and off to the west across 81. Sleet and freezing rain reported all around the district. A lot of icy roads but take a look at this heavy rain moving into Calvert Beach. Were looking at rainfall rates about 2, three quarters of an inch per hour falling and we will be watching that area closely, but also lets get a check on the roads this morning. Weve had some very dangerous Road Conditions. It is slick all over the place. 395 at shirlington circle, were talking about that problem here t right now we are shut down. The tow truck is in there trying to get this car righted. You can see it went into the median there this morning. Be really careful because it is slippery all over the place. 270 southbound at Montrose Road looks like that earlier crash in the main lanes has finally gotten out of the way. Beltway at st. Barnabas, inner and outer loop of the beltway rolling okay. It mostly looks wet this morning so that is good news. Taking a look at a map for you. Southbound bw parkway at 32, reported that tree down in the roadway. Not too much of a slowdown there right now, but again, all of this pink here showing an icy mix falling. When you see the white on the map on the roadways you know snow is falling through those areas. Outer loop before bw parkway, had that crash but it is off the roadway. Rest of the beltway, were slow in spots for sure. This is not normal for this time of day but its not terrible. Metro running on a saturday all right. Thank you. Now we continue our Team Coverage with our reporters spread out across the area. Justin finch and derrick ward checking out conditions in virginia and maryland. But first we want to check in with adam on the beltway in maryland in the storm team 4 x 4. Hows it looking . Reporter hey, eun. Just a lot of rain out here right now actually. Take a look at the windshield camera of our 4 x 4 here if i can get it up for you guys. You can see that its just sloppy out here right now. Not a fun ride at all. And it is just kind of a mess and weve seen a lot of changeable conditions as weve been just doing the whole beltway this morning. We started out in Prince Georges County around 4 00 this morning and it was a lot of this kind of stuff. We got up to Montgomery County and it was a lot more of a wintry mix. Stuff that was sticking to the road, but right now were dealing with a lot of wet roads out here. Were not far from Andrews Air Force base right now. Just taking a look at al conditions and you see all these camera angles that we have for you. Exactly what youre dealing with, not even tracks in the road right now and you see this tractor trailer going pretty much at speed on this section of the beltway, but i guarantee you, the more that we go around the beltway, the conditions will change. Weve seen the temperatures go up and down and fluctuate and thats really the thing with this forecast. We were talking about how the rain snow sleet line was going to be from neighborhood to neighborhood. So it really depends on where you are. So right here over by Andrews Air Force base, not too bad. You know, a lot of rain out here right now. It is still an impactful condition right now but youve got a really good look at the road spray that youre dealing with. Back in to you guys. Adam, thank you. And we want to head northwest of the district to leesburg, virginia. Justin finch is tracking the snow amounts there. What are you seeing . Reporter eun, i hope youre action were still seeing out here just blowing right past the camera lens here. We are seeing plows in this parking lot behind me here. They have these drifts theyve collected and i want to show you how high this is. Its actually a bit taller than i am here and the sleet is falling. Its getting packed on to the ground. Snow mixed in there as well and thats resulting in what were seeing here. You can see perhaps this street here which was clean perhaps an hour or so ago is now a layer of snowy sleety ice on top of it. The plows will be moving through here shortly. I do want to show you some video from earlier when the plows were circling this area of leesburg here hitting parking lots, also hitting main row roads and streets out here as well. There werent that many cars out at that time which is a good thing because these trucks need room to work and also several trips to be effective. Charge of supervising these trucks out here. He says he prefers snow over ice and hell tell you why. Snow is softer so you just plow it on the side. This one as you see, even the plowing, still ice on the ground. It takes extra work, huh . Yeah. So hopefully it gets warmer. Reporter and as you heard, more work for these crcrews. Theyre asking all drivers to avoid coming out so they can keep these roads clear for as long as possible to make their jobs easier in the long haul because we have a lot more time with this storm. Im justin finch, back in to you in the studio. Today some of the most fun outdoors is outside of the capitol. Coming up, whiy its a prime place to spend your snow day. Theres lot of snow outside this morning and snow and sleet and an nearly everything Mother Nature can throw at us is going to continue for the remainder of today. Well talk about t he 5 40 now. We just showed you conditions in virginia. Now to maryland. We want to how are conditions now . Reporter well, that combination can be painful if its hitting you many the face. Thats what you should expect if youre going to come out. This is what you might be greeted by. Stationary live truck will gather some icicles. This truck is running and its warm but you still get that freezing so the temperatures are such that youre going to get some ice and were starting to see people clear these sidewalks. So even when you come across a sidewalk thats been cleared, walk gingerly because theres still some ice falling. Freezing rain falling here in germantown. Starting to see some buses here, so that means folks are out. Walk gingerly getting to your bus and getting off your bus if you have to be out. If you dont have to be out enjoy the warmth and dryness inside. Back to you. Thank you. Our Team Coverage talking you out on the roads this morning. Another live up f and were going to talk about a couple of big issues here on the roads this morning. Taking a look at the beltway and then a problem at srlington hici takes 12 hours to steep. And almost no time to sip. Keep on with ultra smooth taste, now available with a sweet and salted kick. America runs on dunkin. Right now at 5 45, snow, sleets or rain, the conditions constantly changing depending on where you live. And the storm is not over yet, my friends. Storm team 4 is tracking the latest updates in your neighborhood. And snowy scenes across the east coast this morning. Were bringing you live Team Coverage to fill you in. Right now School District from Fairfax County to Montgomery County to morgan county, West Virginia are all closed so well focus on whats open right now. The federal government is on a three hour delayed arrival this morning. D. C. Schools, Calvert County schools and west virgin a twohour delay today. St. Marys county schools in maryland are open. Weve not heard from west more land or Mineral County schools. That full list in the app and at the bottom of your screen right now. Now lets go to the live desk. Some big power outages. Yeah, weve been keeping an eye on these numbers throughout the morning and now were seeing the numbers go up. Dominion, virginia power says there are about 1,900 outages almost oall of them in alexandria. Pepco has had up and down numbers but it is reporting now a total of 583 customers without power right now. Well stay on top of this. Back to you. All right. Thank you. Now, with all the closings around here, traffic will probably be lighter on the roads today. The beltway. Hes been driving around the region for a look at the Road Conditions. They keep changing, adam. Reporter i can tell you, this forecast is really funny, because it changes literally from town to town. Take a look out the drive camera of the storm team 4 x 4. Were back to freezing rain and weve now done the entire beltway and i can tell you that it changes literally from place to place. It is not the same type of stuff that youre dealing with. On the far eastern side of the beltway all rain. In other parts, a mix coming down. Its a sloppy mess. Well continue to drive out here for you. Report back to you guys. We also have reporters in Loudoun County virginia and in Montgomery County maryland this morning. This is a live look from where they are right now. Well check back in with them at 6 00 a. M. The main event is underway to our north. Heres a live look now from times square. Like three cabs through times square. Its deserted. It is. Were joined now with a look at conditions there. Good morning to you. Reporter good morning. We are in central park where believe it or not, im embarrassed to report a couple of joggers just went by. Come on. Weve got a blizzard warning in effect. I know its good to be healthy but there they go running around. Businesses closed, a lot of employ years saying stay home, stay out of this mess and thats going to be the essential thing today. Keeping people out of the mix. The roads have been very clear here. We do see crews out. 1,600 snowplows trying to stay ahead of this snow. Thats going to be a losing battle. Theres just too much snow in some cases. Its only going to intensify throughout the Early Morning and continue to snow through the be between 6 00 and 11 00 here in the city. We could see four inches of snow or more an hour for several hours. Theyre talking about accumulations of 12 to 24 inches in some areas, so its going to be a tough go for quite some time, aaron and eun. Again, a state of emergency, a blizzard warning. Thats going to continue throughout the day and the storm is going to continue and move forward and up along the eastern seaboard for the next couple of days. Just a real mess here. Back to you. All right. Jay gray live in new york for us. Thank you. D. C. Mayor bowser and metro manager met with the president. They briefed him on how the district was preparing for the storm. President trump tweeted this photo of their meeting. Bowser said she talked to the president about how washington operates during inclement weather and how the federal governmen to the capitol to get some sledding in. Delegate Eleanor Norton tweeted this yesterday saying it is legal. Congress removed the sledding ban last year. There was talk about a snowball fight later this morning. Listen, i think people are so snow starved that even if its a little bit of snow, people are going to be out, sledding, making snowmen. But snowballs, you can break somebodys eye out. Nothing above the neck. Were talking about a ton of sleet. We have seen lots of reports of heavy sleet and take a look. You see that area of red. Thats heading toward the district and that is very heavy rain. Thats rain right now and that area because its a little bit warmer but as it moves into the district it could transition over to a heavy wintry mix or radar just to the north of the district near laurel, columbia, also gaithersburg. Then we look near annapolis. That purple is an icy mix. So the radar showing us many different types of precipitation. We have snow now to the frederick, clarksburg and then we look off to the east, even more snow. Thats been steady and that will be the highest snow amount off to our west. Just to the south, sleet and freezing rain. Thats been reported all morning. The roads are hazardous. We have a lot of icy roads. Snow falling mostly down 95 near fredericksburg. Some of that could be a wintry mix, but look at this precipitation rate here. Almost 3 inches an hour near Calvert Beach and that heavy rain is going to be moving into Charles County. Going to continue into Calvert County and approach the district. That could be some heavy wintry precipitation or sleet. Theres a big storm system. Were also watching up near boston where the blizzard warnings continue up in that for today though, look at these temperatures as we go through the day. Windy, temperatures only in the 30s, feeling colder. Snow showers are going to last through the afternoon. Well start to see things wind down closer to about 10 00 a. M. Or so. As far as the totals, mostly that icy mix for the district and points to the south, may be a couple inches farther north and west. Were looking at maybe 2 to 4 and then closer to western parts of Loudoun County maybe 5 to 8 there and 10 as you get into pennsylvania where the blizzard warning starts for those areas. Currently temperatures around freezing for most of us. Many in the upper 20s. Road conditions not good. Wet and icy to the south of the district and off to the east, snowy and icy and looking at major road closures farther out to the west. Tra tomorrow were looking at a cold day.
