Thank you. A massachusetts Police Officer is dead after he was shot during a traffic stop early sunday morning. Auburn police are mourning the death of 42yearold officer ronald tarantino. The person who police say shot him is dead after an 18 hour manhunt. And Monica Madeja has the latest news. Reporter thats right. Its a really somber day here in Central Massachusetts for many of the small towns that were affected by this tragedy. A very harrowing day, now the investigation somewheres on to what prompted all of this violence. I want to show you the suspect. This is the man investigators say shot and killed that Police Officer. 35yearold mojorge zanbrano. Throughout the day sunday, a lengthy search ensued for him. He was located just several miles away at a home in oxford, massachusetts. Tactical uptss found him in a bedroom when he jumped out of the closet firing a gun at officers. A state trooper was hit. Zanbrano was killed. That state trooper is recovering in the hospital after surgery, but sadly officer tarantino has died. And now they are mourning the loss. His body was brought to the funeral home. The impact of yesterdays events on the community really still settling in at this point. The focus is now offering support for the family. We have learned that officer tarantino has three children and a wife as well as a community of brothers and sisters in blue. As you can see behind me here at the funeral home, one Police Officers guarding his body at the funeral home.
