And just moments ago, metro tweeted out confirming that that they have indeed fixed all of the problems here at the Federal Center station and they are open for business as normal this morning. So big problems yesterday, though. Two separate incidents in the Federal Center station including this one that was captured on security video. Take a look. Its pretty dramatic. Sparks and flash right alongside the platform. Fortunately nobody was injured, but a disturbing sight to see. The other incident involved a burning piece of paper and the third rail causing smoke in the ta service to the through, orange and silver line was suspended between Lenfant Plaza and the Eastern Market station. The latest Safety Incidents comes as metro lays out its new plan today kad some trains could single track for as long as a month while two to three stations could be shut down entirely for weeks.
