He attacked the driver with a needlenose pliers. The driver managed to get off the bus and loving drove a short distance been into a parking lot where he allegedly hit Anthony Payne who later died. Cathy lanier says this is a bizarre attack. Very uncharacteristic for someone to attack a bus driver. Some bus riders say metro isnt doing enough to keep them safe. Metro has started installing o protective shields with a barrier between the driver and a potential attacker. Right now there are about 326 buses with shields. They met in atlanta to address the zika virus concerns. They say the southeastern part of the country is becoming a perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes that carry the virus.
