A woman who told news4 she was his aunt says the little boys name was trequan. We know it was a d. C. Fire truck that started taking him to the hospital. The first ambulance dispatch was seven miles away from the home on hillside road. Paramedics on fire engine 30 arrived in about four minutes. They asked for an ambulance from neighboring prince georges county, but after finding out this wasnt one available chose to drive the baby to the hospital themselves. The childs aunt said he had has what and lived in a asthma and lived in a hot apartment. The house was hot. A closer d. C. Ambulance met up with the fire engine roughly 15 minutes after the call went out, but by then the baby was in Critical Condition and did not survive. An official cause of death has not been released. D. C. Fire and ems are promising to get to the bottom of the response. This death comes after two recent high profile incidents. A man collapsed right across from the Fire Department and the lieutenant in charge was allowed to retire with her full pension. Earlier this year a 1yearold boy died from choking on a grape. The closest ambulance was not sent and a fire lieutenant was charged with neglect of duty. Prince georges county is looking for ways to cut costs in its Fire Department. That includes reassigning a dozen firefighters. Four will come from the Riverdale Heights station, making that station entirely volunteer staffed. A texas sheriffs deputy will be laid to rest. 47yearold Darren Goforth was shot and killed a week ago in what Police Called an unprovoked and senseless ambush. He was shot 15 times and miles has been charged with that. A county clerk is behind bars after not issuing licenses to samesex couples. Kim davis was sent to jail for contempt of court. Davis said her conscience wouldnt allow her to issue licenses to gay couples. The couple suing davis for not issuing their license will tie the knot today. Virginia lawmakers are once again up against a deadline. The Washington Post reports that democrats and republicans have until today to suggest names for an expert who will help redraw congressional districts. Outrage in Loudoun County when it comes to how some students get to the bus stop. What theyre being forced to do just to get to school and whats being done about it. Y congress is launching an investigation into major problem with local army moms problems theyre having with day care. Last month we revealed dozens of army parents filed formal complaints about the u. S. General services administration, its the federal agency that helps to pay for child care for military families. So the iteams Scott Macfarlane dug a little deeper. One said it was a nightmare. The army fee assistant program backlogs, unreturned calls and late payments as well. The Army Fee Assistance program is for those who cant find child care on the military post. They are allowed to find a private day care at full price in the community. The General Services administration which oversees the program cuts a check to help the parents pay for it and we tracked down complaints about late payments.
