This morning were learning about your safety concerns at the national zoo as a busy Holiday Weekend approaches and effort is underway to keep you safe while youre visiting the popular d. C. Attraction. Volunteers in washington are working to keep you safe this easter hold day weekend at the zoo. Last year a 14yearold shot into a crowded area on Easter Monday just outside of the zoo and it wasnt the first Easter Monday violence that occurred at the zoo. In 2011 police told news 4 teen allegedly shot seven people near the entrance. Theres a big concern for me because i feel like a place like the zoo is somewhere that our kids should be safe. The 55 volunteers aim to report any suspicious activity to police over the busy Holiday Weekend.
