We will finally see the levee put in place for the first time later this morning. The potomac down into constitution and beyond. Basically what will happen, if you look at the sidewalk and the road, there are metal posts in the ground re. In the event theres a flood or threat of a flood, they will pull the posts up out of the ground and snap panels between the posts. So those flood walls will go from 17th street up into the sidewalk. As you can see here, the concrete walls. So snapped into place creating a barrier across 17th street preventing floodwaters from being funneled down the road into the constitution, protecting the white house and buildings further down constitution. We will see them practice this for the first time. That means 1st will be closed in between constitution and independence.
