Right now brand new details in the Maryland Mall shooting that left three people dead. New this hour, the gunmans name, plus details about the investigation, the weapon he used. He took a can to the mall, got out on the upper level; went downstairs to the food court. Within an hour of arriving he was wreaking havoc, taking lives, scaring hundreds in the mall. People that left belongings will be able to come here later today over to the pnc building off the mall property to get their property, personal belongings. As for merchants that have closed they have yet to given a time they can return to stores. Its unclear if the mall will reopen monday or tuesday. Mall officials apparently say theyre trying to do that. Its no longer a crime scene. Police have now turned it over to mall authorities so they can prepare for reopening. More questions and many questions generated as answered by what we learned here today. Primary among a lot of peoples concerns was who the person was. Now that primary concern moves to exactly why. That has yet to be determined by authorities. Were live in columbia. Derrick, now we know the gunman, Darion Marcus Aguilar. We know about the two victims that worked at the skater store called zumiez. One is 25yearold Tyler Johnson who recently moved to mount airy from ellicott city. The other victim, 21yearold Brianna Benlolo from college park, worked as the store manager. Her grandfather tells the Associated Press she had a 2yearold son. He also said this was her first job since giving birth. We call the victims families. Neither wanted to speak. We spoke to a neighbor that lived next door to Tyler Johnson. He said he followed the events through social media and didnt know one of the victims was his own neighbor. Very nice family. Very sad to hear that. I had no idea until right thousand. Dodd didnt know johnson lived at the mall. He says he and his family were quiet. Were getting look at 340emos after the shooting happened. Half a dozen or so what looks like a swat team with weapons in hand are walking carefully toward the entrance of the mall. Howard county police say it took them several hours to clear the scene. Were hearing from Maryland Governor who released a statement saying on behalf of people of maryland i want to express my deepest condolences to the victims and teams and all those affected by the violence. Police have identified the gunman, 19yearold Darion Marcus Aguilar from college park. He fired six to eight shots in the mall yesterday killing two employees at the zumiez skater shop inside the mall. They havent been able to pinpoint if there was any type of relationship between the shooter and the victims. One of the victims lives in college park as does darion the suspected shooter. In other news, a rock ville man is behind bars after he was arrested for the death of purvis. They believe he was killed by osborne near yuma street two weeks ago.
