She helped to coach the Girls Soccer Team also at the Model Secondary School on gallaudets campus. The Memorial Service will be in the Elstad Auditorium at 2 30 this afternoon. This morning, a homeowner in his 80s is recovering after trying put out a massive house fire in fairfax with a bucket of water. News 4s Darcy Spencer reports. This cell phone video shows flames shooting through the roof of a Million Dollar home in fairfax. It was pretty shocking. The flames were coming out of the roof, probably 30 feet above the roof, very intense fire. So it took a while even with all the water they put on it to knock the fire down. Fire investigators say a man in his 80s who lives in the home had to be flown to a local burn unit after trying to put the fire out himself with a bucket of water. He was injured. Hes been flown to Washington Burn Center with respiratorytype injuries. The flames broke out on the second floor and quickly spread. Officials say the victim brought his wife out to safety, then went back in without immediately calling 911. There was a delay in notification to the fire department. He made several attempts to fight the fire and then retreated from the home. Investigators are still trying to figure out how the fire started. We also would love to find out what happened. Everyone in the neighborhood i talked to is anxious to piefindt what the cause is to take preventative action if we have to. The death toll now expected to rise from this nightclub fire as at least 245 people have died. 200 others injured in this fire that happened in santa maria. More than a thousand people were reportedly inside the club called kiss when the fire broke out overnight. The fire may have been started by the pyrotechnics display of the band playing in the club. A Security Guard described it. He said it was at maximum capacity, about 500 people. Which means more than 1,000 people with in the building. That would be when the fire started. People started pushing and shoving each other to escape. Many people were celebrating this weekend, which is the start of the carnivale in brazil. A lot of people also died when they got trampled.
