The Justice Department is investigating russian interference in the president ial election. News 4s Edward Lawrence has the latest. Reporter aides to the attorney general confirm he spoke to the Russian Ambassador twice last september and never disclosed it during the confirmation hearing. Heres what he said under oath. If there is any evidence that anyone affiliated with the trump cam russian government in the course of this campaign, what will you do . Senator franken, im not aware of any of those activities. I have been called a surrogate a time or two in that campaign and i didnt have communications with the russians. Democrats remain critical of the possible ties to russia. Police have tape across the roadway, only residents that live on that section are allowed down at this point as Police Continue to search that heavily wooded area, that park that you see behind these houses. Now, these been searching since getting a tip tuesday night that there are human remains here. They say the investigation may be gang related. Take a look at this video. There is a white tent that has been put up in the woods. It was there yesterday. But today we caught investigators doing what appeared to be a grid search in that police tape and officers we can see them methodically pushing aside the fallen leaves on ground, taking a very close look around that particular area. Now police wont say if there is a connection between whats happening here and two ms13 gang related cases. The murder of rivas and reyes. The tip also talked about lemon road park and there could be remains there. That area was searched as well. Nothing was found. Its also worth mentioning that this park has been used by ms13 gang members in the past. There were two murders in the park, one in 2013, the other in 2014. Those responsible in those cases were arrested and convicted. As for this tip, this search still ongoing, a lot of questions as to whether or not they have found anything yet. Back to you. They dont want anyone not associated with the police, not an investigator to come in and potentially disturb what they are looking at in that spot. They are definitely not doing a large search. New cases of drunk driving are making headlines this week when an alleged drunk driver slammed into a crowd during mardi gras but experts are doing more to try and stop it. They developed a drunk suit and obstacle case. Heres more on how they are showing teens what it feels like to drive drunk and the damage it can cause. Chaos in new orleans, just days ago, a driver plowing into pedestrians at this mardi gras parade. 28 injured, some still in the hospital right now. Police say this 25yearold was behind the wheel, his blood alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit. People the hood of his car like bowling pins. And the numbers are staggering. According to the cdc, every day 28 people die in crashes involving alcohol, thats one death every 53 minutes. Now experts at ford are trying to stop it developing a scientifically engineered drunk suit that simulates being drunk. Trying it on teenagers, scaring them straight, unable to walk a straight line. Way off. Or drive. This is crazy, going so slow. We tried everything in terms of turning these numbers, including going into the classroom. Doesnt always work. However this is really a game changer in terms of what High Schoolers getting them out on the road and putting drunk goggles on and they see how dangerous it is but in addition, they also discover that consequences. You cant see what im seeing but i dont even know exactly where there it is, theres no depth perception. This is nuts. They even bring in a real Michigan State trooper to simulate a traffic stop. When its over, i look at the course and the trail of damage is frightening. All of this happened and im not really drunk, i have my wits about me, i couldnt i could think like im sober, which i am. Imagine if your mind was going and youre really drunk. This is scary. Worked on me. Today just an experiment but on the road the consequences are deadly. The whole point is to avoid crashes, the leading cause of death for teens is vehicle crashes. We want that number down to zero, one life is too much to lose. Most certainly is. Were talking about the impact of yellow blue line riders this saturday into april, trains from huntington to braddock road stations will be single tracking also expect to wait as long as 24 minutes between trains. Metro officials are who use those stations to look for other ways to get around while surge 13 is in effect. And they used to be easy to use but now the stylish interior of new cars are leading to problems when it comes to shifting gears. Thats right. They might look better but Consumer Reports says these new shifters can be confusing and potentially dangerous. Consumer reporter susan hogan explains. Recently we reported on a recall involving gearshift confusion, Fiat Chrysler recalled more than 1 million cars and suvs because the gearshift makes it too easy for drivers to forget to put the vehicle in park before getting out. For decades cars with automatic transmissions had a simple straight forward shifter but some newer cars have shifter that lok the new designs can set their models apart or offer a touch of luxury, Consumer Reports warns those could be complicated and even counter intuitive. The problem with the unconventional gear selectors, they make it hard to consistently pick the correct gear, especially park. In the worst case, that means the car could roll away. Im am a Mercedes Benz and it is a electronic shifter, it means no matter what position youre in, it returns to the center and makes it hard to see what gear youre in. Putting it into park theres a small button at the end blocked by the steering wheel. Reporter another problem sinces not immediately obvious on some models its possible for the car to roll after the driver gets out. Some manufacturers have built in safeguards and ford and lincoln and acura and honda and gm now automatically return to park if the engine is shut off and gear to prevent those roll aways. They believe these confusing shifters can be dangerous and its now actually deducting points for cars that dont have builtin fail safe that prevent rollaway accidents. If you already own a car with one of these shifters, Consumer Reports recommends you always double check when its in park and use the emergency brake any time youre going to step out of the car. Absolutely, it was a very violent time and the powerful thing about that, in the midst of all of that violence and inhumane treatment, there was still love and yearning and family. So while we do have very powerful scenes that depict those moments, we balance it with the making sure keeping true with what was going on with the intricacies of family. Speaking of family, can we talk about who this may be geared towards . Is this for children is this only for adults . Who do you all invite out to come and see this production . Its primarily an adult production, however we do have 9, 10, 11yearold children in the production itself. We up and we do understand that parents need to be understanding they need to have that dialogue with the children it opens up conversation. Absolutely. At the dentist. Reporter luke was in fine form recently as he romed the big cat house at the national zoo. Luke is clearly the king of his castle. But the big guy wasnt looking so royal when we found him, konked out on an operating table earlier. His massive paws kept warm by colorful mittens. The root of this tooth is about up here where my finger is. Reporter this is baron hall during a regular checkup on luke to make sure his teeth are healthy. Since they are wild animals and you cant just go and you have to knock them out. Which is why luke has a team of medical technicians monitoring his vital signs and keeping this 400 pound wild carnivore peacefully asleep. Dr. Haul is a veterinarian dentist who specializes in exto theic animals. Hes so rare, hes in demand at zoos and sanctuaries around the world. Hes been in the mouth of some fierce beasts. Ive worked on black bears, grizzly bears, brown bears, pretty much every cat. Polar bear is on my bucket list. Wild animals need dental work because an unhealthy mouth can make animals sick. Alpha males can have a bad tooth and be in pain and hide it because pain is a sign of weakness and can get them killed in the wild. Luke is quite special. He came to the national zoo when he was a year old. Luke was brought into our facility from a facility in south africa, which means his specific genetic lin all. Reporter that gave breeders a fresh gene pool to expand the Lion Population in this country. Luke proved to be a rock star. Hes been an outstanding breeding animal for us. Hes produced five litters, four of which have all survived. Its been hes had a great run for us. Reporter luke is now 11, slowing down a bit although he can live into his 20s. Staring into the business end of a lion, one has renewed respect for this king of beast, especially when dr. Hall tells you this you could extract every tooth in their mouth and power of theyll pop your head like a grape if they wanted to. Reporter fortunately luke can still bite your head off. He left the exam with teeth intact and mouth cleaned up and ready to, you know great story, can still bite our head off, good to know. And dr. Hall, by the way, he provides his services to the zoo free of charge. Thats so cool. Love that piece.
